I totally agree. If this is such a big issue ....Cruise lines should make the appropriate dress code mandatory (instead of suggested)and enforce it by not allowing entrance to dining rooms.... Also when they say no ball caps, colorless shirts, flipflops, etc.... enforce it!! I love how people love to criticize and put their 2 cents in yet it doesn't make a difference. Its the cruiselines who have control and they obviously don't care or choose not to enforce.

Christmas cruise on Seascape - what to bring, do, what´s offered?
lcpagejr replied to kasi1979's topic in MSC Cruises
The ship is usually fully decorated at the end of the Thanksgiving week cruise. We have cruised numerous times over Thanksgiving and this has held true on each cruise line we have sailed. We will be one Seascape over Thanksgiving and I expect the same -
Port Everglades to Ft. Lauderdale Airport timeline
lcpagejr replied to ItsGood734's topic in Florida Departures
I don't really care if it happens after the cruise....I can deal with rebooking. Never had a close call in 25+ cruises and almost always leave between 10-12 noon. Now pre cruise we always fly in the day before -
Its helpful to know YC not continuing to cut back.... There is a reason many of us choose YC

Port Everglades to Ft. Lauderdale Airport timeline
lcpagejr replied to ItsGood734's topic in Florida Departures
Yes...FLL is best airport when departing a cruise. Had a similar experience on RCL when cruising Odyssey of Seas last year. We didn't rush off ship....Began disembark process at 8am.... off ship and through customs and at curb for a cab by 8:30. At TSA at 8;50.... At gate at 9:30 for a 10:50 flight. Waiting time in security at airport longer than leaving ship and driving to Airport!! -
We often cruise Thanksgiving week.... Ship is fully decorated when we disembark

Nothing I want more is to go on a cruise with 7000 people needing a road map to get around the ship. Sometimes big is too big. ...No Thanks

When we stop at Ocho Rio's we just walk around the port shop area just outside the gates and go down to Jimmy Buffets for a few drinks

I have these...They work great!

I will be going on my 3rd YC cruise in November. This upcoming cruise I booked 9 months out (other 2,, 3-5 months) and got the lowest price of the 3 including the additional Voyager 5% discount for booking further out. There is so much demand for YC the chances of getting a lower price closer to your cruise date is slim to none

Miami Hotels Near Bayside or Brickell w/ a Pool
lcpagejr replied to MistyRo76's topic in Florida Departures
I agree...The main stay hotels are very expensive for the night before a cruise. Next month we will be staying at the Novotel Hotel (very close to Hampton Inn Hotel). Close to bayside and Port and it has a pool. Got a great deal on Hotwire. I'll provide an update when we return -
Live Seascape YC (10/21-10/28): The one where we left the kid at home

You are fortunate to have Arthur!! He is the creme de la creme whether it be Maitre 'D or Waiter. He is well known on these boards and on MSC.... I believe this is his last cruise before taking a vacation. Enjoy him!! -
My bad Lois....Thanks for the catch!

Consider the Bricknell area.... Minutes from Bayside and very close to Port. I have a hard time paying premium prices for a before cruise night . Got a great deal at Novotel Hotel...also Hampton Inn Hotel has attractive prices.

We are older and prefer the traditional style ships.... We've cruised on Vision and Voyager class and last year cruised on Quantum class (Odyssey). The Oasis style are just too big and it feels you wouldn't see the whole ship before cruise is over. The additional extras are of little interest to us. So much depends IMO to your age and activity level. We found Odyssey to be the perfect mix of new and traditional. Playmakers and the inside Rec area were amazing. We loved the Solarium and the many areas on deck we could find less crowded areas. We did the 8 day Southern Carribean (our favorite itinerary) and the extra day is always a bonus! You will not be disappointed if you decide on Odyssey

This mirrors my previous 2 cruises on Seaside.... Fortunately in YC for both cruises. As I have said numerous times on these boards....Its YC or bust if you cruise MSC. Thanks for sharing your observations and comments

Bit late don't you think?? Your cruise leaves in 5 days!! Did you read the excursion information on MSC site?? Many of the same type excursions are available privately. At this time it may be too late to secure a private party reservation....although there will be many companys trying to offer you excursion/tours when you leave ship at each port

Playmakers: Are kids allowed?
lcpagejr replied to jcarter4551's topic in Royal Caribbean International
maybe not to sit...but I observed kids coming up to bar in Playmakers to get soda's (Odyssey) -
Love Royal but they need to fix the disembarkation
lcpagejr replied to pfm18's topic in Royal Caribbean International
No need to fix something that isn't broke. What happens on debarkation day has gone on for years. Cruise lines busiest days are when the ship turns over.... -

lcpagejr replied to opus2002's topic in Florida Departures
You will be fine with Noon flight. Ive cruised numerous times out of Miami and flown in/out of FLL.... Anything from 11am or later is comfortable -
Payment Nightmare - A Cautionary Tale
lcpagejr replied to gmerick's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I just don't understand this...If you call the number on back of card...you get your balance immediately?? Maybe RCL is slow in processing the actual charges and they are concerned there could be another charge against that amount before the amount they process goes through? Doesn't make sense -
Lunacy? A last minute cruise… with a 3 and 1 year old
lcpagejr replied to raino144's topic in MSC Cruises
Is MSC testing or requiring test results in Europe now?? -
Yes... OBC shows as a credit on your account and your purchases/service charges will be debited against it until used up
