Sadly, the production show, Six, is leaving the Breakaway, and will not be available from January 26th 2024. We are sailing on February 4th. This is a show I've been wanting to see, too!

Is there a schedule that will tell us what, if anything, is replacing it?

Is it leaving exactly that date? Or when that cruise ends.

    I am on the 1/21-1/28 2024 cruise

and don’t want to miss it.

  2. So is a 96 hour PCR test satisfy the at least two day rule?

or by their letter do they want a test dated Friday for Sunday departure

Is it possible they will send out clarification?

is any at home antigen test okay

cvs has two different types. Is that what they mean by verified third party?

They used to tender (usually NCL at Coxen Hole) but since they extended the pier two ships can dock and two at Mahogany, winds permitting.

I wasn't sure with all the re-routed ships from other ports if they were planning to tender in addition.

I have never used Discover Roatan but they seem to be run by part of the Bodden family. Bodden is a big local name so not sure how closely related they are to Victor Bodden.  Victor Bodden and Rony used to be the main tourist operators on Roatan that were recommended in the past on CC. We have used several operators over the years. Many people rave about Roatan and particular drivers but we have never been over impressed. I believe Infinity used to offer its own taxi service but I have never used it.

It is necessary on Roatan to arrange round trip service. You cannot rely on just picking up a taxi for the return trip. For the most part that requires you to either book through the facility you want to go to or arrange for a driver for the day to wait for you. Over the years most tour  companies have offered the same service at the same rates. The prices are reasonable for a group, or a tour, but for a couple just wanting to go to one location and return I think they are expensive.

On discoverRoatan, round trip transport is included in cost.
they also have one for sol y mar.

which do you think might be best…. And how bad are the sand fleas???
I read reviews too much, then talk myself out of things.
I always worry someone in my party will have a bad time.
I still get reminded of a horseback ride to the waterfalls. Forgot to read the part where it was a ride over a mountain lol

Are you sure that information is accurate and up to date? That sounds like a lot of ships tendering. Which cruise lines ?

    I checked again. Only two

To answer your original question I would always book with third party except for Maya Kay or Sol y Mar.

Coming in on NCL and thinking of using discoverRoatan and going to Infinity.
We usual cruise to Bermuda. I can navigate that place and the taxis to our fav beach is  easy

I get nervous when going to a new place. Freak out and over plan.
Plus it is my birthday and I want to make it special for myself and husband

  5. Ship - Gem

    Deck - 8

    Stateroom # - 8632

    Stateroom Category –SF

Starboard or Port Side - AFT

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – one deck above Bliss

only heard the music really loud one night.

Just rolled over and went back to sleep. Concierge says you can always call and they will lower it, but also they like to push the envelope until that call

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – have always loved the AFT view. Sitting on the balcony with a book and just listening to the water below.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal for that size AFT, I hear Deck 10 has the biggest aft balconies

Was wind a problem? - nope, but too chilly to sit outside on the ride back.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - nope, but the bakery smells divine

Any specific problems with this cabin? - nope. Close to O’Sheehans for a quick snack or drink.

Any other comments? - have yet to be disappointed on the GEM

What did you end up bidding?

    I put in 910 pp

was happy since we are back in a suite....yes I am a suite snob

i believe I still saved money by booking a balcony GTY and getting the upgrade, than booking a suite outright. Also the perks I have by my original booking make it worth it...

    definitly would do again.

ok, so I got an upgrade offer for an SE/SF

I bet is was for the deck 8 SF since they were all available as of yesterday...

my issue is that I believe I plugged my card number in wrong since I got the email that says we tried, but got denied.

There were links to try that card again or use a different card.

I put in a different card, BUT the email said that if there is still something avail and they will try again.....

I wonder if I lost my shot....

Happy to say I am in the SF penthouse suite.

Love the aft, even though deck 8

i can deal with bliss noise, if there is some.

Have you ever lived with teenagers and dogs?

I am a pro at blocking out the world.

Back to the suite life for my DH and me

Does anyone have any experience with winning a bid on a last minute booking? I’m considering booking about 30 days out in hopes of snagging a cheap Balcony Guarantee and then making a strong bid for The Haven. Just wondering if that’s a viable strategy and if NCL considers the price paid on the original booking when awarding upgrades. From what I read on this thread it sounds like no since they already have your money from the original booking and probably just look for the highest bid, but may consider cabin type booked in order to squeeze out the most dollars for those who want to upgrade from Insides to Balcony, Mini Suite, etc. Anyway any data points would be helpful.
