Thanks for the replies. We leave in a week so I guess I'll give it a try. I was just trying to think of ways to keep in contact with the kids. Hopefully it works!

Has anyone used this app with the $5 social media plan? If so, were you able to make phone calls with the app on the boat?

So how does Priceline work? I've seen others say they know that the 4* canal street is a certain hotel.
For instance, there is a French quarter, canal
Street 4* for $107. Any idea which one this is?
Has anyone gotten a bad place by booking before knowing the hotel?

We are leaving on the Carnival Triumph in October. I can get the Hilton Riverside for $86 or the Astor for $113.
My plan is to arrive a day early, park at Fulton (for the duration of the cruise) , and then go to the hotel and use taxis or street cars to get around. Does this sound like a good idea?
Which hotel of the 2 would you recommend? Or neither?

There is no limit to the number of price drops you can request. However, I'm confused. If your category was sold out, what exactly were you trying to match to? If your category is sold out, it can't drop in price.
I didn't know if there were other cabins that were category 8m or if ONLY the aft balconies were considered category 8m.
Thanks for all the replies!

I requested a price drop last week and was denied. I am a little confused on how to find your exact stateroom category. We booked an aft balcony for October, category 8m. Apparently all the aft cabins are sold out. Are there other rooms that are 8m?
And is it true you can only request 2 price drops?

I thought he was hilarious. He has a Facebook page for Marcelo marshmallow (apparently his mothers nickname for him).
Dining room choice?

We were assigned to one dining room but wanted a private table. When we got on board, we talked to the maitre'd about the table and got moved to the other dining room. Had late dining in both. So it may be possible to change and keep the same dining time. Just depends on available tables I think.
