Just a bit of a directional correction. You are sailing UP the Rhine, from near the mouth towards the source. (I know on the map it is down, but the river doesn't flow that way.)

Are you interested in the bulbfields or Keukenhof Gardens in particular? Bulbfields are everywhere, but they cut off the flowers fairly early (I will let the more knowledgeable give you timings) because it is the bulbs that are the product. Bulbfields are large stripes of coloured flowers for a short period of time. Kuekenhof on the other hand, is designed for enjoying the flowers. They are open for six weeks, and they try to have flowers blooming the whole time.

I deliberately chose to set my air conditioning unit in Fahrenheit, because the gradations are smaller. I can adjust to either, but I have more control that way. For car travel it is very clear. You can only use a Nexus lane if all occupants of the car have Nexus. I assume that the same is true at the airport; you can't bring a non-Nexus family member with you to the Nexus lane.

In both cases the day of the week (and the actual date) could be important information.

I think you learned how to use it effectively. I never got it working on my recent cruise on the Dawn. I’m sure it is just me.

I think the big difference is that on Silversea you only need your keycard to open the door to your suite and check off and on the ship, rather than having to use it multiple times per day to charge something to your cabin. I was very happy to have the phone on a lanyard with a pocket for the keycard, especially when I discovered that I didn't need to pull it out to use it; I could just put the phone next to the sensor pad. Except for my reading glasses, it was generally all I carried around with me, except for my cane when the seas got rough.

But if you don’t have Nexus already you can’t cross that bridge, because you have to show a Nexus card at the Canadian side to open the automatic gate. So you might as well do it at the Peace Bridge.

Whirlpool is a Nexus only bridge in Niagara Falls. It has customs agents for US and Canada at their respective ends of the bridge, but as far as I know it is NOT a Nexus enrollment centre.
