  1. On the Dream and Fantasy they used Illy Espresso. I dont remember drip coffee. My husband had them make him an Americano as he refused to drink the coffee from the MDR or Cabanas.
  2. The parking garage at the terminal is totally worth the money. You pull up in an orderly fashion, a porter unloads your vehicle, and then you park, cross the street and are there. Honestly one of the most organized cruise port I have been to.
  3. I am trying to find out if anyone has sucessfully had 4 staterooms that you were able to open the verandah dividers on the Fantasy, Deck 8. I know many have said 2 or 3 rooms without a problem, but I am hoping someone has done 4 and remembers what the room #’s were :D
  4. Hello everyone. We have our rum runners from when we cruised RCCL, but now we are going on DCL for the first time. Has anyone successfully brought rum runners on DCL? We used to pack them in our checked bags, stuffed into DH's shoes, is this still the best way?
  5. LOL!!! I just looked at the pic again and that was actually DH with her. He must have been putting her on his shoulders. Had it been one of her brothers....totally different explanation ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Brian! I haven't been on here lately as we have opted to do a land vaca this year, so I was pleasantly surprised to see your review. You know I am a huge fan :) So far it looks like you had a great time! Glad you got to see the Aqua Theater Suite, it absolutely made our vacation last year. Pictures just don't do it justice. Can't wait to read more and hear your thoughts on the rest of the food venues. Melissa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. We sailed in an ATS over Thanksgiving, would never sail any other way again! Here is a link to my review, I hope it helps you make a decision. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1524126 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Request a meeting with the AO manager when you board. Go over all the steps you want taken in case of "emergencies". Our son has Asperger's and we sailed Allure in November and there was one night they couldn't get ahold of us bevy are they were calling the wrong phone (even though they assigned it to us). Just verify they have all the right numbers in the computer and you should not have a problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. We have done eastern on Oasis and western on Allure. On the eastern we had been to the ports before so only decided to get off in St. Martin for a day at Orient Beach, and really enjoy the ship on the other 2 port days which we did. We wanted Allure for 2011 and for the week we wanted it was western which we very hesitant to do, but ended up loving it. We were in a suite so we had access to Barefoot Beach on Labadee which was great (although a little rocky). Then from reading various reviews we decided to try Nachi Cocom in Cozumel instead of staying on the ship. We are so happy we did, what a great private beach day! So much less crowded than Orient Beach. It really comes down to your preferences. We would happily do either again, but our preference would be western.
  10. We have also been to 2 AI's in Mexico and were not wowed. But one was for my brother's wedding and I was traveling with 3 kids, one of which was a new born and it was the end of July after a hurricane had come through and the whole trip was miserable. The other was an adults long weekend, corporate retreat if you will, and that one the food and drinks were much better. We are hoping to really be wowed by T&C. I guess I am spoiled, I usually don't pay much more than $200 to fly from Fort Lauderdale to Boston or New York...so the $500 price tag was a bit shocking. Now I am racking up airline credit card miles instead of RCI points ;)
  11. As Debde said there are a lot of costs to factor into the cruise. For us the reason the cruise and the AI are so close in cost is that we have an Aqua Theater Suite booked on Allure. When you are comparing the cost of a suite on Allure to an AI, it makes the prices much more comparable. Now with that said, if we were truly keeping the same HUGE suite experience with all the services the AI would be significantly more, but we are opting for a standard 2 bedroom suite with no living room and no butler service to keep our costs comparable.
  12. Yes if lost or severe damage it was $1000, lesser damage was less and I think a lost charger was $50 or so. Very high costs but we still rented 2 and had no issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. We were able to bring water and soda with us on Allure. The water we just reinforced the case with duct tape and put a luggage tag on it. Soda we put in its own duffle with a luggage tag. As for OBC, as mentioned it can be used for anything charged to your SeaPass account. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Having been on both Oasis and Allure, I am pretty confident is saying no. But I could have missed it ;) there was definitely a disco night (not in the MDR) but I don't remember a white night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
