  1. Emmy, are you on Beyond on the 6th? You seem like a lady who would enjoy the knitters and crochetiers group.
  2. The only pass I know of and it was sold years ago was limited and did not include beach or pool areas just Aquarium and general inside property. Don't buy a pass from the ship including lunch. You can go to the same restaurant for much less.
  3. What a wonderful thing to plan just for the two of you. Book a pre-cruise hotel in downtown as soon as you book your cruise. Don't book it through the cruise line as you will have to pay double. Hotels in downtown can be pricey. Once you are situated, you can walk everywhere. First I would take a Horse and Carriage Ride. I like the Red carriages the best; they have different routes and the town tells them where to go so not to have a lot of "horse" traffic. Later that day or the next, take a boat tour out to Ft. Summter. Lots of history here too. There is also Patriot Point across the bay if she would like to explore a battle ship. Charlestown is a foodie town. I love Poogan's Porch. Hyman's Seafood has a few location right in the center of things. The central Marketplace has lots of local lore and nice souvenirs. You have to check it out. There is an Embassy suites, a Holiday Inn but it has another local name as well. Have fun checking out our Southern Low Country.
  4. Taxi is the best mode of transfer for seniors with luggage. It might cost you $25 but you will get there. Enjoy your stay and cruise from the Ray Flynn/Black Falcon pier.
  5. Very nice of you to post this. This has been a continues problem especially if there is more than one ship disembarking passengers.
  6. Hi Jim. We plan on sailing on the Beyond in February. I've booked Eden for Valentine's evening. Thanks for the reference to the New England Lobster; can't wait. I hope I am able to sail by then.
  7. Duffy's is good. Kelly's for seafood is across the street just at the end of the plaza but on the side street side, there's an Irish PUb and I saw a Carraba's of walking map.
  8. Do you need to pre-reserve a spot at the parking for POM? What is the website link? I've tried in vain to find this information, so your help is greatly appreciated.
  9. Which one please as there are two facilities. Thank you in advance.
  10. Check out the Godfrey or the Lenox. Neither will be cheap (that's not found in downtown, where you want to be. Also, the Bostonian (which is a member of the Millennium group) as it came up the most reasonable for me for this past August. I booked a long time in advance. Just book a refundable rate.
  11. Celebrity Summit cruisers were boarded in record time on Wednesday, August 31. Those who had a 12 noon boarding time where known to be on board by 11:30 AM. Now your boarding day is a Sunday and the regularly scheduled NCL ship is in port, so those details might change. Hope for the best. Have all of your Paper work handy and printed out for easy access to board. If you are going to Canada, don't forget ArrivaCan app.
  12. Hampton Inn & Suites on Bricknell Ave has a great breakfast and is close to the free People Mover. Paid shuttle one way to port.
  13. Your ship should offer the Old Town Trolley tour; if it is less than $50, buy it. Just don't get off unless you really want to tour that area. Or, there is a bus stop close to the new Hampton Inn and Suites. That will take you right into downtown get off near State Street or Faneuil Hall.
  14. The Radisson. Stay, Park and Cruise. Sign up for shuttle as soon as you check in. Park safely in their huge lot. Beautiful pool. Nice little Mediterranean restaurant next door.
  15. Bring your free government issued at home testing kits with you to your pre-cruise hotel. Contact WMLife on Facebook or on-line. They will help you set up a test for your party at $20 for the first and $5 for the second person Canadian. My friend who is boarding the Summit this morning, used them on Monday and was delighted with their service; fast and easy. They will monitor other country test kits as well for those in the USA or else where. Bon Voyage
  16. Dawn, contact Olly's Trolley. They do private tours but don't know how late in the season that they operate. You may be missing it by just one week. You could also consider renting a car. The area is rather small although the Arcadia National Park is large and a vehicle is necessary to see it properly. Good Luck. Downtown is pretty quaint as well. Bring a warm jacket, as it does get colder off the water. We are from NE and will be going Sept. 1 on our cruise to Bar Harbor. It's been years since we have been there.
  17. That is rather complicated. The parking is not that close to the port. You pay by the length of your cruise not daily. The driver should contact the Massport Parking lot (mornings there might be someone to answer) and ask the question. I would also be very wary of your luggage showing in a parked vehicle. This invites theft. Why not drop the luggage at the hotel first if at all possible, they can hold the luggage in their closet until you return to check in. UBER is active at the port. Your friends who are not driving may want to consider booking an UBER ride to the hotel. I just don't see how this scenario will work. Where is your hotel?
  18. Just thinking the same thing. Yes, it will be about a 30 minute drive.
  19. The link above is perfect. I recommend you drop off any passengers with the luggage and then the driver goes to park. The shuttle will bring you back to the terminal.
  20. Yes, if you can still find a store that is doing them before you leave home.
  21. As mentioned, print out everything you possibly can (even from a hotel) and have it ready for presentation along with your passport and Vax card at check in. Try to down load ArriveCan app, but don't stress, as others have said they don't even ask for it. Your 2 day preceding boarding Covid Rapid Antigen test is the most important document so print it out.
  22. I believe that is their practice as long as the bus isn't full. The days preceding our 31st cruise will be very busy in Boston as the College kids are moving back into our many major universities. That means extra parents driving, U-Haul trucks and moving trucks in a very crowded downtown area. Patients on the roadways, at restaurants and tourist sites will be a plus.
  23. The one that goes to the port when ships are in is the Old Town Trolley. You can go on-line to their website and pre-purchase your ticket for a slightly discounted price. Also, compare your ship's tour cost of this tour. Trolley buses are Green and orange, with some being double decker buses. Skip getting off at Cheers; it's a tourist trap. Sit on the Right if at all possible.
  24. Not that I know of. Two ways to economically get downtown; first walk about a city block to the left after coming out of the terminal to the Silver Line Bus stop. It should be near the new Hampton Inn. Get off at the Faneuil Hall area. 2nd. Order an UBER car and pick a central spot where you wish to go and walk from there; Swam Boat in the Public Gardens is nice.
  25. Are you stopping in Portland Maine before Boston? They may have Customs clearance there.
