We did this last summer - a large group of 4 families - 18 in total. We mixed it up every night. Had two tables, one 8 top and one 10 top. We had adults/kids one night, drew colors for tables one night, etc - it was fun.

I love your frugal ways. I am the same way.
I am booked for the same sailing leaving May 20th. Can you possibly look out to see if they offer a drink card? I don’t drink enough to get the drink package but would love to purchase a drink card. I have seen them offered on 7 nights but since this is a 4 night I wonder if the sailing is too short.
Thanks
We are on you sailing - May 20th. Can't wait

I would love the 4-1-1 on the night life. I love to dance the night away and am curious if the Mariner has a separate venue for the “nightclub” or if it is in the Viking Crown Lounge.
Any information about the after 10pm events would be greatly appreciated.

Go to one of the roll calls and see if someone on the next few cruises would be willing to buy you one and you can paypal, venmo, apple pay...whatever and have them send it to you.

The Attic is where the comedy shows are, you have a good listing there.

Are evening/late night activities plentiful? Or is it truly a ghost ship after 10pm?
-
Okay - I have been eyeballing a cruise to Alaska for some time - really want to experience it but, I am not a sit still kind of person. I like to play games and scavenger hunt and dance and people watch and sing along and really enjoy the night life of the fun Caribbean cruises. We are considering the Ovation in 2020.
Am I going to have that on an Alaskan cruise? I know that I will be awed by the beauty of Alaska having never really been out of the south (except for that one visit to Michigan to see my sister in January), but I am scared.
Note - My husband and I will probably be traveling with another couple.
Is it really a ghost ship after 10pm? Am I gonna have something to do late-night? Pizza at 3am?
Any information (or suggestions) is greatly appreciated.

Gotta compare apples to apples...
I show a couples swedish massage - 50 minutes at $159.
Here is a tip - and how I got my husband to book a massage on the cruise - something I never thought I would be able to do...
Sometimes, around the ship, they will set up and give free 5 minute massages. I conveniently "forgot" something and had to run back to the cabin and told my husband to grab the free massage while I ran back. We booked right after that. He loved it.

Unfortunately, for as long as it takes to upload the photos and fix all the spacing that the copy/pasting messed up, each update takes longer than I like. I will update again in a day or two, I think.
Great tip for next time! I would have loved the chips and guac earlier in the day. They were soooooo good and I was soooooo full from all that food.
If there were paddle boards to rent, I do not remember.
I'm over here waiting for Hucifer's next post like I'm waiting for the next season of Game of Thrones...

For sure - MotionEaze + Bonine always works for me.
I've had a hard time lately finding MotionEaze on land. Finally found it a a boating store.

Following! We board Harmony in 38 days, this will get me through another week until the 2nd!
Looking forward to your review.

Seriously - Motion Ease - You can get it at a boating store. It's an oil that goes behind the ears, on the boney part. Motion Sickness begins in the inner ear. I've had a hard time recently getting Motion Ease at a drup store. I finally found it at a boating store.
That and Bonine (or generic) gets me through the first day of a cruise every time.
AND, you can use the motion ease as much as you need

Here is what I do:
Call the company and book directly.
My husband and I are cruising in April. Our friends will be on a different boat but we will be in port on the same day. We were trying to book a scuba dive all together and Royal wouldn't do it even though the excursion was available on both boats. The times were off by 30 minutes and Royal would not accommodate us.
We then just called and booked directly. You don't have to tell them you are cruising...But if it's not offered on your ship, I don't know what is keeping you from booking directly.
I am no cheerleader. Ever.

I have not had any trouble with the new site. Just seached 5-9 nighters to Alaska with no dates and got 7 results.
hmmm....

With 6-8 Arrivals/Departures coming and going during the week across the lines, how many times has this happened? Is Fog really a problem?
We sail on the Brilliance in April out of Tampa.

Just got off the three day Enchantment...Get the drink package. It was worth every penny. A few drinks by the pool, soda by the buckets, bottled water, never was turned away, any value, always had what I wanted, no time limit, drinks with dinner, drinks in the club.
I've smuggled before, too much hassle for me.
