  1. The spider, or window-washer could be an issue(maybe not)depending on which deck it resides. It is for some, but not that much for others. Deck 6 really has small balconies!
  2. Variety is the spice of life; these years are going by way too fast, so do what makes you happy. There is really no reason to be upset when someone is providing their own opinion on here, as you can always check it out or not. If you are happy with your cruise bookings, no matter the cruise line, that’s great for you! Booking another line does not necessarily mean you do not have great memories about Celebrity! It just means that you have a sincere reason to open the door to a wider variety. Some people found Celebrity the same way. We all love cruising, or would not necessarily be on this site.
  3. We came back to our suite on deck 11, Sunset Suite, right after an early dinner. Our suite had no noise issues at all, in the aft corner of the ship. By the aft elevators, the ship was creaking loudly and maintenance was there. The loud sounds were on both sides. We took the elevator down to 10 and up to 12; same thing! I was on Beyond in December and no noise at all by the aft elevators on that 10 night cruise; our suite was right by the elevators on this trip. All I can verify is that I have experienced both, but no noise either time in my two different suites and different cruises.
  4. Used cars or new? Some cannot even afford a vacation, so those of us who can are blessed. I love new ships, European itineraries and spending for quality, but that’s just me. Give me history, culture, food, private excursions that are non-cruise company and I am happy! I am all about the experience; no float the boat for me. Now my DH is about price, but I plan our travel and pay for it; he gets to come for free!
  5. I looked at that cruise, noticing the great pricing, but we had already booked a b2b. My DH said that he would never find me in that large of a cabin...I replied, exactly! Anyway, it looks lovely and hope you will do a review next year. Our first cruise is a TA in May on O, so I'm interested in seeing how it works for us, as it was much cheaper than Celebrity too, not to mention had the itinerary we wanted...time will tell, but my glass is half-full! Question: Do you have to pay extra for gratuities?
  6. Reminds me of my DH losing his watch in the Azores; it was a gorgeous Breitland that I had given him for a special occasion. He is still sick about and thinks when he took of his backpack, it slid down his arm, loosening the leather band. He did this several times while on an excursion. You have a great idea that he also does on our cruises/vacations. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - General Comment: If my very first cruise on Oceania’s Vista has very-loud talkers, blaring TV’s, tons of walkers, along with very thin walls in our PH, I will be one and done; however, that is yet to be seen, or should I say...heard, as the price was exceptional🤷‍♀️
  7. I wish it was "quite easy” for my money to be returned🤷‍♀️ The rules are in writing! Be thankful that you have not had any issues yet; honestly, I hope you never do because it can be quite frustrating, even for a TA. ~Safe Travels
  8. Yes, you should receive that reduction, but make sure it is refundable and understand that you can be charged a fee(200 pp.)if you cancel outside the 90 day cruise window. Get everything in writing and be sure you are getting exactly what you want, making sure that you rebook your seats if need be.
  9. I am having a huge issue with them that has been going on for over 5 weeks. FBC blames Celebrity and Celebrity blames FBC; I am caught in the middle and just following the written rules, but so far, very little is happening except for a verbal comment that I should see X number of dollars in the future. Companies can take your money quickly, but getting it back, even when following the rules, can be a nightmare. I will never use them again! I will never use them again! I will never... Companies seem to have a new mode of communication making the customer the issue instead of following their own policies. It depends on who you talk with, as to what the reply might be. There seems to be very little consistency between the answers given by representatives; that might be due to personal interpretations of the words/policies. I have heard enough from these agents to last a lifetime! Change is the only constant, but getting everything in writing doesn’t seem to work either because the words have different meanings to different individuals. Buyer Beware!
  10. We have all made mistakes, hopefully learning from those as we move through our experiences and gain important knowledge by always reading the fine print, asking questions and trying to make the best possible decision; however, sometimes you can do everything correctly, but find yourself in a position of having to defend yourself through no fault of your own. Always keep all paperwork, asking for updates when any changes are made. Insist on seeing everything in writing before you hang up when a change is made, making notes of dates, names etc. Buyer Beware!
  11. I think that’s the point with bookings, especially if, in my case, you transferred a reservation to a higher category(cabin to suite)even though you possess the hard copies. Some cannot understand the math even though they are on the payroll. If you also have FBC, that complicates it even more for those trying to understand what, as a customer, you are talking about…proving that you are still owed money; in my case over 1,780. I have two pages of notes taken by me and given to me by my TA. Neither one of us understands how Celebrity can keep people as employees if they can’t do simple math, not to mention share all types of excuses, blaming other departments.
  12. and...any hints? I know I am not supposed to ask for the name, so that is not want I want, but anything else might help!
  13. Well, hopefully the issue is fixed...sorry about all your changes, as it does make a difference at some ports.
  14. There is, but deck 11 has a larger overhang. I have been in that suite and liked it. Can’t remember if there was an addition square poll that affected the view, but not a big deal if there is one.
  15. I have to agree with the above poster in some respects. My deposit is always insured just for that amount, then before I do my final payment, I add the rest to my insurance. I had a cruise that I moved, but then had to move it again due to an accident. Celebrity would not do that so I lost my deposit; however, then I was charged an additional 500 because it was a suite, even though they moved a 400 deposit to secure it. Needless to say, this has been a nightmare trying to get my money returned, minus the deposit and the additional 500. My TA has never run into this elongated situation where everyone has a different answer, yet nothing gets done. The cruise was canceled a day after I made final payment and before Celebrity’s 90 days, but Celebrity tried to get 25% anyway due to untrained and new employees not knowing what they were doing. I am still waiting for another 1,800 because of airfare. Every FBC didn’t want to return this either; they kept saying it was already returned, but could not give a date or amount! My TA has called and been on the phone for days. I even called to get to the bottom and finally talked to someone who actually understood Celebrity’s own policy regarding cancelations. Celebrity sent me a questionnaire and I explained all of this too. They love to take your money, but good luck getting it back! Whatever happened to simplicity, simplicity and simplicity? Those days are gone. It doesn’t matter how much you save on a cruise if you have to fight to get money returned; I just want a fair price...maybe I need to move to Princess?
  16. I have been wondering how/if the number of spa reservations has changed since Celebrity has made changes in giving OBC...are many cruisers skipping the spa, or just using their own money? I have only used OBC in the past, so may not be doing any spa time forthcoming, as opportunity cost just doesn’t appeal to me if I can’t use OBC; of course, that’s just my personal opinion.
  17. Trying to get an accurate answer from so many working for Celebrity is a conundrum at best. I just know that when I pay my deposit, cruiser beware is my motto, as anything can happen and will when one books early. I have Apex booked for October, 2025, b2b with a TA. I could die by then, but I do have insurance on my deposit!😆 Transparency is not always transparent either, so it is difficult when you are a “why” person.
  18. You really do have a sweet hubby; mine only wants me to travel with family, or very intelligent friends, especially out of the country🙃 I guess he is saying that a few are not that smart? Anyway, enjoy your cruise by yourself and have a wonderful adventure! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
  19. Edit: Shower is in Reflection Suite
  20. I was under the impression that no one could see in, but you had great views! However, this is the Reflection Suite, not a signature suite which is much smaller and no shower like this! sorry for the confusion. I have been in both suites that were in the same private hallway, so more privacy. There is a picture of the hallway where you will be, along with inside a Signature Suite in the bottom picture. Hope this helps!
  21. I love that suite...had one of the best cabin craws and parties there! The shower is amazing just by itself...enjoy!
  22. Booking your own private tours, along with others on the roll call can be so much fun. You really get to know people and have a great time at a better price point. I cannot and will not ride on a big bus. Also, your on time back to the ship is guaranteed with the right companies. I say to go private or go home, but understand that some do not feel comfortable doing the research and booking, but it is an excellent way to learn about the various activities/excursions available. Furthermore, so much more comfortable and you see more too. One of my most favorite cruises was in the Adriatic on Silly; I met so many wonderful people/friends on that cruise; would do it again in a heartbeat!
