  1. Read what I wrote to the first person that commented! There is no hard-fast rule that you cannot take the stairs. The stairs are not the escalator, but next to it. Anyone can take the elevator, but why when no one is on the stairs. Show me the rule about the stairs…I’ll wait for a reply. For me personally, I try to get more information rather than posting a gut-response. I hope you will do that next time. Thank you! Celebrity agrees that the stairs are fine! I also want to thank tfred for not reading for understanding; a quick reactionary heart and your done…cheer on and enjoy!
  2. Thanks! I have done those things too. Celebrity did, in a backhanded sort of way acknowledge that I should have at least been accommodated with a quick check of prices, as ai was originally told. However, since the person I booked with was not there, I was treated with very little respect. To him, it was all about his profit and a price-drop was not benefiting him, so no more discourse, period. I only wish that I had gotten his name; as I had the power of that to put on my survey.
  3. Then there is the ‘enforcement” of such a policy...like chair hogs and the rest, some great ideas, but... Sad, but these types of things are everywhere. Choose your battles carefully, but sometimes you just have to do or say something, as rudeness means different things to different people nowadays; unfortunately, it is becoming more normalized(maybe not a good choice of word.)
  4. I still remember my visit for several days, so I can understand your comment! When we first arrived by car, there was a huge storm just beginning to dissipate.
  5. Hahahaha...no that wasn’t it at all; I loved bourbon and peaches!
  6. No, we were not asked to go to the no-line line! We were told to go over to the elevators where there was a huge mob of people. There was no line! They were blocking the stairs and no one was using them! Our bags were not "over-stuffed" and we had every right to carry them down the stairs. Yep, you want everyone to know that you can embellish every comment to get a reaction! Well, you got it...do not ever assume that you have all the answers, you were not there! Again, we have every right to carry our bags down the stairs....I do not care how many days you work-out! But glad you were able to share that with everyone too. My comment was not directly made to you either, so why be so nasty? maybe ask for more information before you “jump” on the comments of others. No one was taking the escalator without a free-hand, either! We are not entitled seniors who expect the world to move for us; we are just the opposite. That’s why we found this situation rediculous. We have never had this issue before with Celebrity telling us we had to take the elevator when the stairs were available! I apologize if my explanation was not clear enough, but you chose your response!
  7. I find quite a few issues when dealing with Celebrity and all the newbies, their total lack of accurate information, along with not even getting call-backs from them when promised. Recently, when trying to get a price-drop after just booking a cruise onboard, I was told that my TA was the only one I could talk with, even though I had just booked the cruise and it was within 24 hours. The real kicker was that both my cruises were never even emailed to my TA; I had to give her the numbers. Of course, when all of this was said and done, both prices had moved higher and I had wasted my time on a cruise pursuing something that was a lie from the getgo! When trying to get accurate information from Celebrity when I returned(yes, my TA did this also)we were both told that the cruises were emailed on the same day, so she had them! To add insult to injury, I was told that receiving a price-drop was not a problem while onboard by the individual who booked both cruises. She was so eager to take my money...I needed to find this in writing before I booked, but really, in retrospect, it would not have made any difference at all. In the end, Celebrity had my money and anything after that was not going to be fulfilled. I won’t even go into the individual who was rude to me after standing in line for 15 minutes. No worries, as I will never do that again...book onboard or..... I did talk with an individual whose name I will not mention, but she has not called me back regarding my situation. However, my TA was told that it was the fault of both of us for not acting quickly enough...you know those rules are there for a reason. Nowadays, it is always the fault of the person who does not have any say in the matter. The best part was that I could just cancel and leave Celebrity with My 1,200 + dollars; it was as easy as that...really, this is how you treat long-time Celebrity customers? You can’t make these things up! Also, I was told a screen shot might help and also told that a screen shot would not help! The crew onboard in dining, along with the cabin attendant are set to such high expectations, but the others, not so much! All I wanted was to find out the rules, where these were in writing and be able to allow others to not have this happen to them. Well, I will be calling this individual and sharing my feeling about how she mishandled this situation by not returning my second call...you have to teach people how to treat you and that takes time. My total respect goes out to all those crew members on Beyond who are exemplary and are held to such high standards needing all 10’s! FBC can be a real hassle too, so I understand your situation. Life is difficult and sometimes things happen; however, customer service is not what it used to be...pick your battles! I have had so many wonderful cruises without any hiccups at all...even Mother Nature gets angry a lot more nowadays.
  8. I love that vibe in the EU! The Caribbean for us was NOT like we expected, but haven’t cruised it in decades...Beyond was great in Europe; not that good in the Caribbean and the ports were so disappointing. We are just not Caribbean cruisers!
  9. Is there a very different clientele when doing Caribbean cruises from those in Europe? We found it to be that way, so we are very leery about doing one on Ascent; should we be? Sorry for this being a little off topic, but my DH and I are trying to figure this out, but do not plan to book another Caribbean cruise, although we have one next year on Ascent for the ABC islands...I hope it was just our experience on Beyond, in the Caribbean, because our other two on her in Europe were absolutely wonderful!
  10. We had wonderful burgers on deck 17 for lunch; they were very tender and juicy, with a view to die for when having lunch at the Retreat Grill last week! I believe the super large one was from the speciality restaurant(Rooftop Garden) with an extra charge for those not in an upper suite! So many people raved about that restaurant’s food for our cruise. We did not try it because we’re unable to eat that much...
  11. Maybe a bit off topic, but I thought Celebrity was targeting younger cruisers... Well, we just returned from our third cruise on Beyond; the other two were in Europe and wonderful. This one was in the Southern Caribbean, not to mention that, in several instances, we were treated like we could not be trusted with a lounger because someone fell and was hurt, needed to “wait" for others because we were going in a “line" to exit the ship and told we had to take the elevator because we had two bags. You should have seen that line!!! Those three things did not sit well with either one of us at all. Since when does Celebrity dictate all these rules? We have never been treated like very elderly people who cannot do anything for themselves. Both of us were appalled with these so called rules! My DH carried our bags down the stairs, along with me carrying another suitcase and tote. We wanted to disembark ourselves because we had an early flight and a driver waiting for us. Yes, we are in our ___’s, but this conception that we are old and decrepit doesn’t play well with either one of us. Are all Caribbean cruises this way? Do I need to cancel my Ascent cruise in November, as the rest are TA’s/Europe? $200 would be a small price to pay for not being treated this way. Will we be treated like this with Oceania?; maybe not because we booked a TA and not the Caribbean.
  12. We asked for it specifically, so they prepared it for us on Chick Night. Neither one of us eats lobster and I am allergic to it!
  13. We are having Halibut onboard this evening; it is Chic Night, but really not on the menu, but the ship is well stocked. The head waiter is absolutely wonderful on this cruise!😃
  14. Yep, but I also want another confirmation, so am asking Uncle Leo if he can confirm!😜 No two sources have confirmed a certain day yet!
  15. We are on Beyond doing a 10 day cruise from and to Miami. We paid 7,800, with 1,200 OBC from Celebrity and TA; usually, we get more from our TA, but she was a little stingy when we booked…
  16. I just had a talk with our “Retreat Host.” He can do just about everything, but will refer or do it for you with the Head Butler/Retreatt Concierge, or whatever you choose to ask for…predominately over what name Celebrity has chosen. Your wish is his/their command. Actually, this concept works quite well on this ship at this particular time/cruise. My DH and I are very pleased except for the exact lunch where Halibut is served; someone knows, but I have been unable to get two people/crew/waiters etc to agree…however, this too will be conquered‼️ Just find out how the system works best on your particular ship and enjoy it your way… ~I did request for the repetitive posts to be deleted, so just know that! Everything we have asked for except the lounger(I could ask again, but do not feel the need)along with not knowing the exact lunch day Luminae is serving Halibut, has been done well, with a smile and sometimes a wink! Yes, I said “ wink.”
  17. Ours is really a wonderful man from India that loves to joke and laugh, but if you say so I will not say a word, Rich! He is getting a very nice tip for several reasons, but his attitude and love of family is so apparent. He told us he has been that way since he was little. I just think it is rediculous that he has to work so hard. My DH was on the veranda when he was making the bed; my DH said he was faster than lightening...I do not care what Celebrity calls anyone, but I do care that they are treated well by us because that is something I can control!
  18. I certainly understand about Christmas. We donate to charities for our Christmas gifts to one another knowing that we are helping others. None of our family lives by us, but we do have good friends living a couple of blocks away; however, they are gone for the holidays. Presently, I am on Beyond for my first ever cruise that is decorated for Christmas!
  19. I will tell him that; it will definitely make him laugh, as he is so busy cleaning 16+ suites! I will say that when I call the head butler’s phone, I always get a quick and cheerful answer! Not trying to deflate your answer, but ours is really too busy...he is always smiling and running back and forth...I am definitely giving all three categories equal opportunity, so I do not overload on anyone.
  20. We make requests through our cabin/suite attendant, but you can do either on Beyond. Our suite concierge is great too, but she seems to be able to answer questions about your account, services regarding OBC from Celebrity and TA’s, not to mention questions on various topics. We have not had any real issues at all so far.
  21. Lots of different prices out there on various ships/classes, I have already had a price increase on my 2025 bookings, but hoping for the other way! I would only bid for an upper level suite, as we just would not use all the amenities, especially at those prices, but that’s just us. We do not care about the spa either, so AQ is out for us. My DH is laughing because I have so much booked now, but keep dreaming that it is way too much. Of course it is not and all cruises are already paid for in my travel account, but my mind at night is reacting to the higher pricing in Europe! I may start gambling soon...hahahaha!
  22. Yes, we met the head butler the first day, but still no lounger. However, it has been raining at night a lot. another yes, as you can request what you want, but it must be requested; you cannot expect anything to just happen! Everything is “on request!"
  23. Good Morning from Dominica, the rain forest island! We are onboard Beyond in the Caribbean after 35+ years and staying in the Retreat(Sky Suite)since we booked when first released. it is very different without a butler, both negative and positive. Our room steward is very nice and super busy, so if you want anything special like ice, certain times for cleaning etc., as you need to call the head butler. I asked for a lounger and was first told no, but then yes; they do not want you have one unless you are in a Sunset Suite. Anyway, I haven’t received one yet! I was told that a person fell and got hurt, so they are not on verandas any longer. You can have one in an SV. No one is trying to do everything for you, so you are pretty much left alone. We did end up booking a Sky Suite and SV for a TA/b2b onboard for October, 2025, receiving a total of 500 OBC. I did not plan on booking Apex, or any cruise at all, but thought the itineraries were quite nice and the ship disembarks in Cape Canaveral, close to friends and family. I still have not sailed Oceania, but am looking forward to it. I enjoy European cruises much more due to diversity weather, history and culture, but that’s just me. If I did not have an SV booked for Ascent next fall, I would not cruise the Caribbean another time. The Retreat Lounge has been a great experience, mostly due to a suite concierge that I befriended last time on Beyond in May! The overall experience, except maybe for a TA, is just not worth it in a suite, but that is subjective like food. This was our view looking to the left on our balcony in Roseau.
  24. My DH and I have booked our first Oceania cruise, but it does not leave for a long time; however, I am really excited about having a new ship experience on Vista, along with enjoying the food too. You do not know until your try, so if the itinerary is what drives you, make it happen! Variety is the spice of life and I certainly understand trying to find out as much information as possible because I do that too, over and over again until I just book it!
