Yes, the new CEO is a "change agent” by definition, not to mention sailing a new course. The App changes all the time and has never been 100% accurate. Change is the only constant. It is not just Celebrity that has joined the “pay more for less” club; it is everywhere nowadays. Maybe Mother Nature is in charge of that too...who knows, but in a “perfect world...” However, 3-ply TP that is soft and strong might be close. I am really surprised that no one has mentioned AI; not all included but artificial intelligence.

I sure hope this is still correct information, but with all the changes, misconceptions, wrong information etc…it is difficult to stay current.

I rarely, if ever ride a bus, period. It is bad enough being, on a cruise ship, but busses are the worst. You wait for entitled people, breathe unhealthy air and cannot move to a better area. Just thinking about being on one for several hours makes me quiver. I will gladly pay more for a private tour for just the two of us, or a small group of 6-8. I work in a high school and rarely get sick; never did all through Covid, even when the kids were dropping like flies. I wish the answer was clear, but some people do not care about anyone except the person they see in the mirror, period. Manners and common sense are all too uncommon, so defend yourself appropriately! You have every right to stay well.

LSUZQ: Oh my; I had no idea that it would be this difficult, especially at 12:01 AM. Is that Eastern Time? I am also a newbie with a DH that has stomach issues if he has to eat late. I booked a PH1, hoping that the earliest times would be available. If not, I would definitely have to think about canceling ahead of the 6 months before the cruise. I hate all these tiny little details, especially having to stay up late just to book dinner reservations on a cruise, but nothing is ever simple.

I was told by a crew member that everything closes at 9:00 AM, as we were onboard Beyond this past May. He knew that I was elite+, so there was no confusion at all. The same was reiterated at Cafe al Bacio...9:00 AM! I specifically asked because usually we are off the ship way before this. My next cruise isn’t until December, so who knows what’s in store for us then...TBD.

This is the main point of the information..are there others cancelations forthcoming?

Location, location, location...you are guaranteed a location in that section, so look at the deck plans to see where E1’s and E2’s are located; it could be any cabin in the class you choose according to your personal preference of location. Better for one person is not for another, so you just need to decide.

I am giving her a year to find her footings...why? Because I have other cruises booked, but also booked when the cruise first became available for a very cheap price and no frills! Beyond, in suite class/SV(b2b/TA)blew me away...

Definitely, bid on the suite if you have the funds! Beyond was my fav experience so far! I was in a suite and SV on a TAb2b.

I have been in Croatia and Montenegro twice; both times were in early May and the weather was good, but with a rain shower. My next visit will be later in September, but no one knows what Mother Nature is planning. Look at what happened in Maui, not to mention so many other destinations the last few years etc. I would not prioritize weather as that important, but itinerary, price, cabin/suite, along with ship and other ports. This was Dubrovnik in early May of this year...Montenegro is superb; Zakynthos too. The final two are Montenegro. Research shipwrecked Beach on Zakynthos...Omgosh...Corfu too! IMG_2170.mov

I have a friend that lived in Maui/Lahaina. She said that the Banyan Tree, due to its root system, has a good chance to live...sure hope this is the case, as so much is just gone. The loss of life is just horrendous. I have been there many times, but not in the last decade.

My upcoming cruise on December 1 is almost $7,000 more for a sky suite on Beyond. We booked it when it was released.

So, my DH can be on his iPad and I can be on my iPhone, at the exact same time, regardless if we are in a suite or cabin...we each have our own unique log-in. We have yet to take our first cruise on Oceania, but it has been booked since March!

Unfortunately, using a generalization is sometimes anything but accurate. Frustration causes people to generalize and vent, so always read between the lines if possible. My DH and I love a great mix of fun, outgoing and interesting people onboard. On our last cruise, we met a couple who were so enjoyable that we had dinner with them for the rest of the cruise! Age is only a number, but their heart is what really matters. You can learn so much from people of all ages if you value different experiences/conversations.

That is just another reason why I do not book Celebrity excursions; there are no 100% guarantees with private ones either, but I just enjoy very small groups, or just with my DH. Celebrity’s pricing always seem to increase the closer it gets to the excursion date, so maybe those who paid less were canceled. Of course, this is just a guess, on my part, but everything now seems to be about money...raising prices, cutting services etc. I am also a stockholder, but I do not believe that is a viable way to make more money, if that occurred. I am very sorry that this was done at a time when you really could not find a decent replacement tour, especially for Norway/Flam, but can only try and understand what transpired. I would not be a happy camper either if this happened to me. In addition, why someone would use a laughing emoji without any explanation is a bit odd too, but nowadays, everything is free game on social media, along with people agreeing/disagreeing with your post. Ultimately, life is a risk and we all try and do the best we can. Again, sorry that this happened to you. I am a "why” person and expect correct information, especially if my money was given to secure a place in a very timely manner. I guess there is no guarantee that this won’t happen again to you, or to anyone else, where not being completely honest is used as a rationale...sometimes life just goes wackadoodle! It will make it up to you in the future with something else; I totally believe that one’s glass is half full, but something life can be so darn frustrating.

Just new outbreaks in AUS/UK and very much upper respiratory, so hard to tell without testing. Always a personal decision as to what to do.

I would just like Celebrity to enforce the rules that they have, or not make any new ones if they are not going to enforce those. Simplicity, IMHO, is just so much better. Yes, I know it is difficult, but consistency is a positive. After reading all the changes other cruise lines are also making, Celebrity is still a great cruise choice!

I totally enjoyed you writing style and photos; thanks so much for sharing. My DH and I took Beyond’s TA and following for a b2b. We had a wonderful time, but since she is now “only Caribbean” status, we will visit her again in December and hope Ascent is as wonderful in Europe. What an awesome family cruise that all of you shared full of memories...happy hiking!😍
