  1. as I said, we assumed it was the flu, until we lost smell and taste. Then we tested.
  2. I figured they weren't tracking it, but just wanted to see if I could help others. I do like the fact that HAL (not Celebrity) doesn't let you touch buffet food. However, since Covid is airborne, that might not matter. Still, while I hand sanitized every time on the ship, how many others don't and many don't know what soap and water is for in a bathroom??!!
  3. yes, we walked through Key West and were in Coco Cay (though far away from others at Coast (?). None of those traveling with us got sick.
  4. Actually, we're both feeling much better. I'm back to exercising. Funny how we never thought it was Covid after getting home. We just assumed it was the flu....until I realized I couldn't even smell a bottle of bleach......PS--I still can't smell!!
  5. not sure. I would say 2 years ago? We've had 4 vaccines.
  6. Sailed on Reflection last week and both of us returned with Covid. Should we share this cruise line to help with their health data and precautions for the future?
  7. Both my clients got cabins. One, a Mariner took an upsell offer.
  8. One of my clients got the email; the other one didn't. But I don't know if they won't get it later.
  9. I did the Queen Mary 2 twice inside. I slept like a baby. But as we always say, "How much time do you spend in your cabin?" PS....One of my clients paid about a month ago, the other about 10 days ago. I wonder how long the standby list is!!??
  10. PS.. congrats on getting onboard!!! 9 nights at $49pp is a bargain anyway you slice it!!
  11. When did you pay for the cruise? I have 2 clients waiting for them to clear. I check many times a day, but still no luck.
  12. When did you make the reservation? I'm a TA and am in that sailing with 10 others, but I booked 4 people in standby, 2 a month ago and 2 Kat week. No one cleared yet. My fingers are crossed for them (and you) also!!
  13. It will say "wait list ". I'm a TA and have done several for an upcoming cruise.
  14. I called HAL today and they told me it's a minimum of 48 hours, not 90 minutes. The res agent laughed when I said I heard 90 minutes. She said she's seen one case where the passenger was told only 24 hours in advance and it was due to a special circumstance.
  15. I'm following this chat as I have friends on standby for Rotterdam on March 29
  16. Has anyone had experiences or been warned about urinary retention after taking seasickness meds? I've had retention 2x, once on a ship...not pretty, and am doing the Drake's Passage (Antarctica) in January. Maybe I should just not take anything
  17. Does anyone have recommendations for a transfer from the port to the airport that includes tours of Valparaiso and Santiago? I have tried Chile Dream Tours, but they are sold out the day I need them (Jan. 20, 2024).
