Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We’ve done it and it was fun, but it was only blending reds not whites. We were able to personalize our wine name and a case was waiting for us at home after our cruise!
  2. For us it always depended on which class ship, because of galley location. On the Edge class it is a no because you don’t really have a MDR. You have the 4 different restaurants and I don’t believe their galley is shared with Blu. On Solstice class we’ve never had a problem.
  3. I agree with fellow cruisers. The Fjords rival Alaska to me. Breathtaking views and amazement of how a cruise ship can sail into some of the ports. As mentioned Flam and Geiranger are great ports. And if the cruise goes north to Tramso, Norway you cross the Article Circle. Amazing trip!
  4. The reason they don’t make the Anniversary martini anymore is that it was made with a special Grey Goose vodka, Grey Goose VX which is not made anymore. You can buy it on the secondary market for $600 a bottle. It’s smooth and I have not brought myself to drink the last bottle I have that I bought on the Edge in 2022.
  5. We had no problem bringing some bakery from Iceland back on board. Shouldn’t be a problem in France.
  6. Brought back a bag of black licorice for my mom last time. Just picked it up in a little shop. She said it was the most flavorful licorice she’s ever had and she eats it a lot!
  7. We always did the chef’s table and it was great, but this past cruise on Silhouette with the new menu was not great. We opted for the special wine pairing which were excellent but another $70+ added to the charge. But the wines I have no complaints about. When we sail next month back on Silhouette, we will not be doing chef’s table. We opted for a chef’s excursion in Copenhagen where the chef takes you to different food halls during the day then at night prepares a special dinner catered to the foods/dishes of the country. We find these much better than the new chef’s table menu. Did one in Estonia that was great. It’s limited generally to 10 people like the chef’s table. So intimate and charming.
  8. Love the Silhouette! Was on her for an Ireland Iceland in August and will be back on her in May for the best of Scandinavia! Very friendly crew and perfect size ship! Enjoy!
  9. We sail in 21 days and they are not sending out luggage tags. You can print them in your cruise docs when it’s available. We have clear luggage tag holders the size of the tag and you just slide them in. Not sure where DH found those. Have a great cruise!
