Thanks a lot for the info..I only found posts stating that the tv channels are sports, news and movies. They should have included 1 channel dedicated to kids though in my opinion.
-
hi again...anyone knows whether there is available a tv channel for kids in the staterooms please?
or is it asking too much? :P
-
I think I would be asking too much for a tv channel with cartoons for kids, right?
-
Thanks a lot...I think the website where I was searching needs some updating!

Hi all. I was doing some research about NCL policies and found that the Kid's program is only free during the day while the ship is at sea. In port, there is a charge of $5.00/hour or $8.00/hour for two during the day.
Is this the case please? Thanks for your help

In that case I would disregard anything you read about embarkation day experiences. It will be a lot different for you.
Also, be aware that things will be a bit odd when you get to the main embarkation port. My main advice would be to make sure you are either not onboard or are comfortable on your balcony (or some other nice place if you don't have one) with any drinks or anything you will want when the muster drill happens. Everything will shut down for a while.
Good advice!! Many thanks!!

I'm not all that up to date on the Spirit itineraries, but I think that a Malta embarkation will be an option on cruises where the majority of people will have boarded in Venice, Rome or Barcelona.
If that's the case then usual embarkation day rules won't apply. I assume that a MDR will be open (they aren't usually on port days but may make an exception if people are boarding. The buffet won't be as busy as usual on normal embarkation days.
The Spirit doesn't have o'Sheehans. It has Blue Lagoon instead but there is limited seating.
You should have no problem with crowds wherever you go.
Thanks a lot. No, Malta is not the "normal" embarkation port in fact.

thanks a lot xxx:*

Hi...can someone tell me which restaurants are open for lunch on the Spirit on Embarkation day please? We will embark from Malta.
I heard it can be very busy in the restaurant they direct you to.
Thanks in advance.

What kind of credit card requires money to be put in it? This sounds like a prepaid card, which is really a debit card.
The card will be a VISA, which is a credit card. We have a very low limit on it. Not everyone is Ritchie Rich you know.
-
thanks again...now it s clearer.
-
thanks...so they dont block the money upon embarkation? and when will the block cease? If they hold, let s say, 200 dollars, when you buy something onboard, will this be deducted from the 200 dollar which were blocked? Sorry for all the questions, but this is still rather confusing.

hi again...we will be cruising the Mediterranean for 10 nights on the Spirit. We will be using a credit card to open the onboard account. I heard that NCL blocks a certain amount of money. Do you know how much they block and for which purpose please? I m asking so that we will know how much money to put in the card.

Just a question, so if she only eats pizza and pasta with red or white sauce does that mean you cook that every day for her at home ? Is that even remotely healthy ? Does she even eat at school ?
Even though I started this thread asking a simple question about dining on the Spirit, I am VERY grateful for the CONSTRUCTIVE advice a lot of good people are giving me. But I cant understand how your 2 questions, dgparent, can be of your business and / or problem, or how they can be of any help to me.

Thanks everyone for the useful advice. I am more comfortable now. We will surely eat at the buffets, but, in our 10 night cruise, we would like to eat at least once or twice in one of the main dining rooms. We wont do it often though cause It s very true that my daughter wont sit still for 2 hours waiting for us to finish eating..and we wouldn t enjoy it either. Thank you
-
I agree. It may take a few minutes longer, but they will accommodate. Here's the unsolicited advice: don't ruin your appetites over hers. If she's healthy, she's eating what she needs. Yes, I'm prepared for the flame! I actually prefer BBQ.

LOL...Good one..thanks a lot for the advice!!

Prepare yourself for unsolicited parenting advice.
No problem.... I need parenting advice ! :D

Hi...we will cruising with the Spirit on July 2017. My daughter is a fussy eater and eats only pizza and pasta with plain red sauce or white sauce. If we eat at one of the main dining rooms, do you think they will cook her a plate of pasta if there is none suitable on the menu? or do we have to eat always at a buffet?
Her eating habits are always a headache for us. Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot for your help. Actually I would like to watch the ship dock in the various ports...so your note on the actual ship arrival time is very useful and appreciated.
-
hi again :) . When the NCL Spirit docks at ports of call, how much time do we have to wait till we can disembark please? I m particularly referring to the port of Rhodes. We are going on our own (and not on a ship excursion) Thank you
-
Could be several spots. 13 forward, 10 aft. Both would allow you to see both sides of ship.
thanks a lot :)
-
hi.. can anyone tell me the best place aboard the NCL Spirit to watch the ship dock at the ports? thanks
-
Thanks a lot.. We will try to organise our own journeys. We do not wish to pay for the ship s excursions. And since we have a daughter coming with us, we dont wish to visit cultural sites.
In Naples we would like to visit Capri / Anacapri.
In Civitavecchia we just need to get to the train station and from there we will catch the shuttles that take us to the park we want to visit .
In Livorno we are thinking of catching a taxi from the port & back.
In Marseille & Palma we need a taxi from the port too.
thanks again for the useful information you provided :D
