  1. In all honesty, it will be there when it gets there. Sometimes it's there early afternoon, sometimes by dinner, rarely it will arrive after dinner (depending on when you go). I would pack whatever you think you will need. Dress code for dinner the first night are very relaxed because some people may not have received their luggage yet.
  2. It looks like your "group" likely won't qualify for a group excursion. The details specifically state that everyone must be booked under the same group booking number.
  3. In case you weren't aware, you can get chips with your sandwich at the Deli and through room service. Back before they started charging for room service, I would order just chips sometimes (well, with other stuff, but I would "hold the sandwich" 🙂)
  4. The part about cancelling the second stateroom wasn't there when I replied. He can cancel it, but refunds, FCC, etc will all be determined by the fare type that he booked under.
  5. You can still get a wheelchair at the airport. The wheelchair assistants will help with your carry-ons and you can fold (make sure you get an actual foldable rollator) and hold your rollator.
  6. So, he really just needs to change the names on the reservation? That is easily done as long as the primary person on the reservation is going, depending on the rules of the fare type under which he made the reservation. Most will have a $50 charge to do this, but he has to do it before final payment date in most circumstances.
  7. I would think you will be getting a physical gift card. The interesting thing is that the excursions and cruise fares are processed through different systems. Cruise fare refunds have been coming via e-cards and excursions via physical cards, regardless of which type of card was used originally.
  8. If he has DOUE, he can do this. Take onboard a covered tumbler (like a Yeti or bubba cup). Order a shot. Empty into tumbler. Repeat every 5 minutes for as long as he wants. Take tumbler back to the room. It's a workaround, but will cost him some time and each shot will count against his 15.
  9. Cartons are allowed. Also, since it is 11.2 oz, it is below the maximum per unit size. They should be fine with or without a contact to Special Needs.
  10. For me? Speed or the ability to grab and go when I have an earlier day planned than time would allow to sit down in the MDR.
  11. There are cards available right now. I just picked up my last one for my August cruise.
  12. Carnival only has the "everyone has to get" rule for Cheers, not BB.
  13. I'm not sure where you are looking at the "invoice." Cruise Cash is considered a Fun Shops purchase and will appear in your Booking & Order Details page, you just need to scroll down to see the section titled "Activities and Service Order History."
  14. Yes. And, no need to go to Guest Services, @abbeydoo. You will purchase through the app.
  15. YMMV, as I believe this is entirely port-dependent. In our experience, there is still a separate check-in line for those with mobility issues, a separate waiting area, and we were given priority boarding. Now, that was prior to the return of priority boarding for D/P/FTTF, so it may have changed.
  16. We've done it before, admittedly not on the Mardi Gras. The transportable scooter width is 21", per the Scootaround website. We always remove the armrests. It's a tight fit, but DH is an experienced user and always gets it through the doorway without issue. Since OP was concerned about the user's weight at ~240, they would have no issue with the transportable scooter.
  17. Go to your Cruise Manager online. Click on "categories" in the upper left hand corner. Select "drink packages." Add to cart and check out.
  18. You don't say how long your cruise is. If it is 6 nights or longer, you will have two elegant nights and lobster will be served on the second.
  19. Scooters cannot be parked in the hallways. This is not a Carnival rule, this is a SOLAS regulation. If Carnival was found to be allowing scooters to be parking in hallways, they would be heavily fined. It is not easy to get a scooter through the doorway of a regular cabin; however, if the scooter is the right dimensions, it can be done.
  20. Interesting, perhaps we did. The future cruise desks were still open for our first few cruises and we booked while on board for the OBC, but I never saw anything about future cruise certificates, which we may have purchased instead.
  21. Also, you took my comment out of context, attempting to make it sound like something other than a reasonable response to another post. Context matters.
  22. My first cruise was in 2012 and I've never seen them offered. They've been gone at least that long.
  23. Fun Shops purchases (which includes your internet package) and fares are managed by different departments. I, personally, like that they are now using e-cards for refunds and wish they would for all refunds.
