Can anyone tell me the process for the luggage actually getting to the correct cabin if you come via Alaska RR to Seward and they take the luggage directly to the ship for you and you only have the guarantee inside cabin luggage tag and your last name which is common?

Nothing is ever easy....so many things to go sailing into Alaska.
When I was a kid I took an inner passage/glacier bay cruise....I've never forgotten it.
So....taking the family now that my kids are the age I was when I did this....
Here's my question...I want to take a helicopter that lands on the glacier, you get out you walk around.
But.......
I also see a 'helicopter and sled dog' excursion....I really like that idea....but....it isn't clear if they land the copter ON the glacier...or just kinda near it.
I have done this twice thru coastal helicopters in Juneau while on a cruise and it is definitely on the glacier! It was the best excursion by far! Enjoy

A friend is going on a family trip. Interested in a private whale watching. Family number is 14 but 2-4 may not go whale watching.
Wanted to give a friend a list of choices that will accommodate her group. In Icy Straight Point we used a small family owned boat tour- Hoonah Travel Adventures- very intimate and a great tour- we saw lots of whales- it holds about 25 max and there were only about 10 of us onboard- it was like a private tour. $162 each

We have booked dinner at Tracys Crab Shack in Juneau and thought it might be pleasant to walk back to the ship afterwards but I am confused. Google says its a 1 minute walk but the excursion details quote a 15 minute drive.
very easily walkable- right near the port

Hubby and I are starting our trip in Fairbanks on August 28. We originally had an excursion booked to see the Aurora Borealis, but we aren't sure we want to take the chance.
What is your favorite thing to do in Fairbanks? We live on the East Coast of the US, and I expect I will be pretty jet lagged, especially after an entire day of traveling to get there.
Discovery Riverboat cruise and Pioneer Park.

Hi All,
We just received the go ahead to book all entertainment, restaurants, etc on the Nov 2 Anniversary cruise, but we cannot see the shows listed. Has anyone else had this problem? We've also been trying to get some info on the details of the "celebrations" on this cruise- has anyone heard anything? Thank you in advance for any info/advice!
who did you get the "go ahead from?" I cannot access anything other than the comedy show yet.

john- thanks so much- yes i am diamond plus and was concerned about special events maybe conflicting with the showtimes but i think it will work out ok. do you remember what time of the day the billy ocean concert on cococay or labadee and what day and time the Michael bolton concert was?

Gotcha.
@tamlec it was a lot of fun. Worth the money. Being at least Diamond+ is good, but last year the BoA RC Visa card was needed for all the really good events
How did you know when to book the shows without knowing if the events would conflict?

am going to try again today after 9. Hopefully i will get the US call center today. I mean, I am talking about an $85 price drop! I can't let that pass can I? LOL
-
sometimes but moreso because sometimes they dont seem to know what i am talking about when i say there is a Deal Nrd discount of $50 or a Maryland Resident discount etc. it also sounds like they are reading a “script” to you rather than actually knowing the product and what they are talking about.

When I call I always pick option 2 for a new booking even when I am calling about an existing one. I find I have better luck
ugh i tried that and have called back 10 times today- always getting Jamaica and cant get them to give me the online price- they always say i will lose the casino 5 and i will lose my 300 off that i received while on my last cruise. i cant seem to get Oregon for some reason

Has anyone else experienced the difference in pricing and ability to assist in price drops when calling the foreign call center rather than getting the american call center? The foreign one never can give me the pricing that it shows online on the website- there are always problems with applying the DEAL or the Flash sales etc. I am always told they cannot combine that with the casino 5% or the other casino discounts yet when i call the call center in the states, they seem to be able to do so. It's frustrating !

I will be travelling with my two daughters who have severe food allergies. We will have Epipens in our carry-ons.
However, I want to bring extra Epipens. I plan to pack several extra packs in my checked luggage; is this okay? I don't know if Royal Caribbean goes through our luggage, but I am assuming that they would not have a problem with Epipens in our suitcases. Is that correct? Would it matter if the Epipens are not in their original boxes? We don't always keep the boxes.
Thank you for your help.
we always take extra epipens and have never had a problem or been asked about it

so glad that she finally got back to you and you got the price drop but yeah, its totally unacceptable that you had to wait so long. Have a great cruise

Hi cruisers. We are going to be in Fairbanks 2 days prior to picking up the Cruisetour which included a city tour & the riverboat discovery. So... what is good to do for 2 days on our own??? Any local restaurants to recommend for any meal. We will be staying at Sophie suites. Is there uber in Fairbanks? Would it be worth it to rent a car ? Hiking close by???? Thanks is advance...

When i was there i did the Riverboat discovery tour with lunch afterward. It is an old fashioned type paddlewheel riverboat narrated tour that is 3 hours long. It goes past a dogsledding homestead complete with demonstration, a float plane demonstration and you go to an "authentic" athabascan native village where you disembark and tour to see how they live.It was very good and worthwhile. You can also go to the Museum of the North with has a history of the Alaskan native history, the Pioneer Park if very fun which also highlights Alaska's pat, has some shops and an airplane museum. If you have a car you can travel a short distance to the North Pole which is a constant "Christmas town" and you can have your mail postmarked from the North Pole if you have some little ones that might enjoy a letter from Santa etc.

Lunch for the suite guests was in Gatsby’s for this cruise. Other than the suite guests and private parties, Gatsby’s was closed. The food so far has been delicious. The concierge, Carlington, was in Gatsby’s and walked around greeting us at the table(s). He is great, very friendly and wants guests to enjoy their vacation. Lunch photos...
I did not know there was a Gatsbys on the Grandeur- where is it located?

My son broke his arm recently and they had to place a temporary pin in it during surgery to hold the bones together. The pin is under a plaster arm cast. We are scheduled to sail on the Navigator this Friday. We would still like to go on our cruise - even if we cannot partake in any of the water activities on-board or at Coco Cay. 😞 It is our first cruise as Diamond.
He doesn't get the cast off and the pin taken out until after we get back from our cruise. Does anybody know if this pin will set off the metal detectors boarding the ship? I am concerned as it is underneath a thick cast so there is no way for security to actually see the pin if he does set off the detector.
I sent an email to the RCCL Special Needs Department asking them about this and am awaiting a response when they reopen tomorrow. I was hoping someone here may have had experience with this sort of thing. Anyone?
Thanks so much!
It should be titanium- which is no problem. A call to the orthopedist will confirm that. Have fun on your cruise!

The question is can i make a 11:45 flight departure if i get to the airport by 9 or 9:30? Thanks in advance.
