  1. Off-topic but I read a piece yesterday about a line - won't try to guess so as not to embarrass - that after two 'entrees' they charge you for any additional ones. But unlimited sides, etc. And that line or another charges $18'ish for a second lobster on those nights. I had to laugh. What kind of glutons are they catering to???
  2. How small? We were on 400 for Antarctica and then ONE HUNDRED for Norwegian coast. The first there could have been almost none and I would have loved it because of the location. The 100 pax one had people from various countries, all experienced travelers, only two others from the US. Tons to talk about. And IIRC there was only one somewhat elderly couple...who drank wine at lunch and dinner 🙂
  3. The good news about the credit cards is that the loss is limited to $50, I believe. Our bank didn't even charge us that. Debit cards can wipe out your account but, again, our bank didn't do that.
  4. Thanks. That's the exact word I was going to use.
  5. We did an "expedition" cruise to Antarctica. In order to go ashore the max number of pax on the ship can't exceed 500 (or is it 400? And for us a smaller ship is the way to go. Maybe 1200. We've done 1200, 400 and 100.
  6. Nor I. And things like that cost a ton of money. And it gave no new info whatsoever.
  7. Turkey, especially cooked in quantities, hold zero appeal for us any time. So maybe a pizza!
  8. I think that would give a passenger more than a tiny bit of permission to call it to the attention of staff and ask that it be moved.
  9. You may have noticed that I speak up! Especially when I think/know that something is wrong. How many hundreds of thousands would it take to make a difference? How many die-hard O customers could write and then leave the line? PS: Like my new name 🙂
  10. I hope you have or will write to Oceania and share this. It's really good. And thanks for sharing it here.
  11. I'm really, really curious what you consider a "Christmas meal"? Not being negative but would like to know.
  12. This was probably 30 years ago so don't remember prices. But here's a menu that looks current. Not bad. And, yes, it was a pretty rich crowd. https://assets.website-files.com/5f9b2a13bc4f61ef6ae5347a/624b22f0de14f9628e0ca497_VR_TkOMenu_09_14_2021-compressed.pdf
  13. PS: I've been meaning to write you back about Hurtigruten. Hopefully tomorrow. Here's one 🙂 Our 'baby' crane.
  14. THANK YOU for opening people's eyes. Stop it, people.
  15. We did a Hurtigruten Norwegian coastal cruise a few years ago and just loved it. Balconies mean nothing to us so I understand it that's a deal breaker for you. Everything about it we just adored. We had actually booked a one-way cruise there and then covid struck. Haven't ruled it out for the future.
  16. Oh, I forgot about that. Did you go to Versailles? I understand that fancy dancy Cuban Americans go there. We had a great lunch. https://www.versaillesrestaurant.com/menu
  17. I would think/hope not. Christmas seems to have long stopped being a Christian holiday but Easter sure is. Probably not appropriate.
  18. Are you by any chance sailing to Mexico? That would completely explain it. But honestly, I can't think of what a cooking class would to that was Christmas-y.
  19. We have turkey for Thanksgivine and prime rib for Christmas.
  20. Is that really so? The all-get-it part?
  21. "Our 12-day Norwegian coastal cruise travels northbound and then southbound, taking in Norway's many fjords and mountains along the way. Your ship will call at 34 ports of all sizes and cross the Arctic Circle twice over 2,500 nautical miles.
