Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Do they still do the bread bowl with the Clam Chowder? On the Panorama in 2021 they did, and if I remember correctly on Radiance last year they did, but not on the Luminosa when we did the Transpacific. Sailing on Venezia next month and hoping they do!
  2. @deladane Thank you for the photos! We typically sail in Oceanview or Balcony cabins, but I'm not picky on cabin type at all when the price is right! We always ask for the beds to be apart, so it might even be possible for us to just move them ourselves into that configuration. I will have your photos for reference though now for my cabin steward! Cheers πŸ™‚ Would still be interested in knowing stateroom number for that Venezia cabin I posted if anybody knows. The room looks like an L shape and specifically set up like that with the twin beds.
  3. Looking at a cruise on the Venezia and looking at different videos and photos of staterooms online. I saw this style cabin and bed configuration and wondering if anyone has sailed in a cabin this style and can tell me if it's an inside cabin or an oceanview? and give me an idea of stateroom number(s)? I like this set up for the twin beds, but can't seem to find any information on the cabin.
  4. Hey everyone! Does anyone know if a balcony cabin, when set up with twin beds, can have both night tables in the middle (creating more space between the beds)?? I've seen inside cabins done that way (although both beds are then against the walls)...but wondering if balcony rooms can do that too? I have seen configuration of one bed sort of against the sofa... I have also seen configuration of one night table beside the sofa. (one bed next to sofa) (one night table next to sofa)
  5. Someone asked this question earlier in the thread, but I did not see an answer.... Does anyone know if the 5 bags for $50 that is offered means 5 bags being sent out the same time, or 5 bags over the course of the cruise? We are heading out on the 30-night Transpacific next month Seattle to Brisbane on the Luminosa. The ship does not have self-serve laundry, and sadly I will be 4-days short from achieving Platinum status and free laundry! Curious is anyone has experience with the 5 bags for $50 offer?
  6. Yes, the cheese plate! Definately a go-to item for us. Sometimes as an appy, sometimes as dessert, sometimes ordered as a second dessert but taken back to the cabin to snack on later!! Carnival... don't cut the cheese!!! πŸ§€πŸ§... 🀣 but no, seriously, please don't. LOL
  7. Thanks for update! Still unable to log in to Manage Bookings as well, but I am glad to know it's not just me. I don't cruise until September, so I have time to be patient. I'm sure for those of you cruising very soon, it's definitely more frustrating!!
  8. Hello, Just wondering if anyone else is having problems trying to log-in to Carnival website? I have not been able to log-in since last night to look at my bookings. When I try to log-in I just get the little loading 'circle' like it's trying to, but it just stays like that.
  9. Bottomless Bubbles includes orange juice, cranberry juice tomato juice, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice Not only does BB cover soda and juices, but we've asked for mocktail creations like Shirley Temples, Roy Rodgers, or a Virgin Sunrise (since mostly just pop/juice and a splash of grenadine).
  10. Hello Everyone! Our family has booked two cabins for this journey. One is my parents (F-72 / M-75) and the other is for myself and my adult son (F-51 / M-27). My son and I are both incredibly excited for this trip, and even better that my parent will also be on board. Epic family vacation!! πŸ™‚ My son and I especially, love to cruise! We love port days and seeing the sights, but we also love just hanging out on board the ship. We both are big fans of strategic board games, so on sea days you will be sure to find us at a table somewhere on the Lido with our large, complicated looking board games spread out on a tableπŸ˜‚ Longest cruise to date for us has been a 16-day Hawaiian Journeys cruise on the Carnival Legend. Mom and Dads longest cruise to date was a 21-day Panama Canal cruise with HAL. Can't wait to add this to the ledger!!! 🀩
  11. I just want to thank everyone for their comments! I did take Brisalta's suggestion to email Jan Swartz. I also found out that Dirk Brand was the Hotel Manager currently working on the Royal and cc'd him on the email. I was polite, explained what happened but expressed disappointment in how the situation was handled and that I hoped it could be resolved before boarding. Now, I can't say for sure what happened was a result of my email, BUT... today my parents got a phone call from a woman in the access office at Princess who apologized for the situation. She said their original cabin booked had a plumbing problem which was why they were moved, and it was overlooked that they were moved to a non-accessible cabin. She was working on trying to resolve the issue and promised to get back to them as soon as possible. At 5:00 this afternoon they received confirmation that they had been moved to an inside accessible cabin near the front mid-ship elevators. Hooray!! (They are perfectly happy in an Inside and it is what they had booked). They are packed, ready to go, Negative COVID tests received today and GREEN on the Medallion App for boarding tomorrow. 😁
  12. Hi! Looking for advice or suggestions, if anyone else has been in this situation. About a month ago my parents booked a 2 week Alaska cruise on the Royal Princess leaving June 11. They booked an inside accessible cabin (the last one available as far as we could tell) because my mother has mobility issues and travels with a scooter. They promptly filled out the Mobility Questionnaire and emailed it to the access office. Within the first week of booking they logged into the Princess site and they had been "upgraded" to an obstructed balcony cabin NON-ACCESSIBLE. My mother immediately contacted Princess by telephone who advised her that there were no longer any accessible cabins available (they had already sold their cabin to someone else!) and to contact the access office (which she had already emailed and not heard back from). She emailed them again telling them she had booked an accessible cabin for a reason and was moved without being contacted. She phoned again. No answers. Finally today only 4 DAYS from sailing she received a reply, NOT acknowledging that they had originally booked an accessible stateroom, but saying "oh I see your scooter is 23.5 inches wide and the standard door is only 23. Kindly Note you will need to collapse the scooter to cross the threshold into the room. If you have any other questions please contact Guest Service once onboard". This is NOT acceptable. Does Princess really expect that every time my mother wants to enter or exit her room she needs to try and wrestle her scooter through the door! Not sure how they can just take away your accessible room and then just say 'deal with it'. Is there any way to contact the Hotel Manager onboard the Royal Princess in advance to try and deal with this issue? Will they just have to wait until they are onboard and hope to hell they can move them into a room where her scooter will fit through the door? They have only sailed Princess once before, although cruised many times, and never had this kind of thing happen before.
  13. Carnival allows you to bring a 12-pack of soda on board still actually.
  14. I didn't "ask" if there was a policy in place, I said I dislike the new policy in place. It is a policy they just recently changed as before you were allowed to bring on board soda. It also seems to be a policy that is not being enforced at all cruise ports. Why comment on a post just to make fun of or condescend to someone?
  15. Not really sure what that's supposed to mean.πŸ™„ Of course it's a cruise not a camping trip. Do we seem less cruise-worthy just because we are asking about bringing soda onboard?
