  1. I agree touch less seems the way of the future but cards can be scanned with touch less. When we go to muster drill as an example they say hold up your card and scan them touch less. When the pandemic subsides as other pandemics have done and we get back to normalcy it won't be such a big issue.
  2. The card works identical to the medallion in speed getting on the ship and at ports. It also avoids any erroneous readings of a medallion. Many reports of someone getting charged for a drink they didn't order , the person nearby ordered it. It's personal preference and mine is no medallion.
  3. I wrote to Princess regarding the need to use a medallion and here is their answer. Department, Customer Relations (PCL) <customerrelations@princesscruises.com> Tue 10/27/2020 12:34 To: YouDear , Thank you for your recent inquiry to the Customer Relations department at Princess Cruises. We thank you for your Elite Captain Circle loyalty level and for your patience. Your email was asking about the medallions onboard our ships and whether or not you can “opt-out” from that technology and receive a black plastic cruise keycard. Yes, you can. The actual “opt-out” procedure would be done at cruise check-in. Rather than obtaining the medallion at check-in, guests may choose to get the standard cruise keycard. You would not need to do anything in advance on any of your upcoming reservations other than completing the standard guest check-in procedure in the Cruise Personalizer area of the Princess website. (You can also call Reservations for assistance with that.) Thanks for contacting Princess Cruises. We hope you enjoy your upcoming cruises. Sincerely, Princess Cruises customerrelations@princesscruises.com
  4. Does anyone know if the credit of 125% will apply if you used FCC's from a previously cancelled cruise?
  5. I went ahead and paid final for a Dec 19 2020 booking on the Royal. I will cancel 30 days in advance (Nov 19) if Princess doesn't cancel first. I used a Princess gift card and FCC's from a cancelled cruise so no money outlaid. I don't know if Princess does cancel if they'll give 125% to me having used FCC's but I'm willing to find out. The ship doesn't look like it's even 25% booked and it's a Christmas cruise which usually sells out.
  6. Your assumption of mini suites wasn't wrong it was your not appreciating someone's effort to search and paste for YOU.
  7. Princess will be an older crowd. Night life will be limited compared to Carnival. It is not a party crowd. Since you like Carnival and NCL you will definitely notices difference. Whether that will affect your enjoyment is another topic only you can decide.
  8. I found Chrysalis not snide but informative. They took the time to copy and paste for your benefit. Princess does not include club mini's at the regular mini's pricing they are different links you must click on. Instead of dissing someone who tried to help you why not state the fine print wasn't clear to you? Lesson learned from you is not to try to answer your questions.
  9. I'm glad to have a governor in Calif that tried to contain the virus. New York's governor did an awesome job and it should be duplicated. The vaccine is rushed without long term or even short term data to support it's efficacy or safety. Many people like myself won't take the vaccine until it is proven effective and safe so we don't have to worry about distribution when half the population won't touch it. When Dr. fauci and Dr. Birx and the WHO say it's safe I'll consider it. Unfortunately politics played a role in what should have been exclusively science.
  10. What makes you think it's about expense? It's about freedom to unwind and relax. If you can afford a cruise I doubt it's about a few more dollars.
  11. They will always be able to get a regular cruise card. I always do. Because of the warning inside the medallion instructions clearly states the medallion should not be used with people who have pacemakers. The magnets in the medallion can interfer with implants. There will always be an alternative.
  12. Those are the rules and if you don't plan to follow them plan to be denied reboarding.
  13. I am reasonably sure a smart phone would NOT be required but I can see it as an option. Just like using the medallion it is an option most people use but not required. I still get a cruise card and have been assured they will always be available because of the warning/liability of using the medallion with any magnetic implant. Besides pacemakers there are other magnetic implants. In addition people heavily tattooed should take warning. While red causes the most problems, most other colors of standard tattoo ink are also derived from heavy metals (including lead, antimony, beryllium, chromium, cobalt nickel and arsenic) and can cause skin reactions in some people.
  14. That's good for me because I will wait to see if and how you react to the vaccine before I commit. Thanks for your bravery.
  15. You've never had a mini over the vista lounge which can be so loud with the music the floor vibrates.
  16. I have a smart phone and won't use it on a cruise PERIOD. If it means booking with other cruise lines I will. I like Azamara and Lindblad and Viking so there are options. I seriously doubt a phone will ever be required and there won't be other options like a paper menu. It would be almost impossible for me to order before arriving in the dining room I need to be asking the waiter questions about ingredients and advise.
  17. That's because I personally don't believe it will alleviate human suffering, I believe the political aspect caused it to be put out too soon and the side effects and efficacy aren't known. It may actually be detrimental to health, we need to wait and see which will take months if not years. I am well aware of drugs used for years and then discovered how detrimental it was. Remember this one? Thalidomide was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women. It became apparent in the 1960s that thalidomide treatment resulted in severe birth defects in thousands of children
  18. You do now that as of Oct 4th Johnson And Johnson paused the trials. Here's the headline and site. OMG I did not enlarge it that's how it copied and pasted Johnson & Johnson Pausing Clinical Trial For Covid-19 Vaccine ‘Reminder’ Of Trump's ‘Absurdity’ 158,162 views •Oct 13, 2020 2.2K200SHARESAVE
  19. Everyone knows that the pay phone booth was where superman changes costumes 😁
  20. I've also been reading that sunlight is bad for the N95 masks as it deteriorates the fibers that filter viruses. I use N95's so I've been keeping as informed as possible. Sounds to me that you did your research and are staying as safe as possible. If only everyone would these simple measures maybe we can get through this pandemic quicker.
  21. I can't wait to just get past this pandemic and resume normal activities.
  22. Have you researched if the process destroys the fibers that block the virus from getting through. Also Virus' are smaller than bacteria so a test for bacteria doesn't mean a smaller particle can't penetrate. I only suggest you do a little more digging, something to think about.
  23. It depends on what you want to do in Cabo. If it's nightlife then of course take the over nighter.
  24. Not possible for patients with emphysema and copd and other lung diseases.
