  1. I've had my Japan Cruisetour cancelled 3 times. I'm hoping 2024 it will come to fruition.
  2. You know these can be adjusted at guest services unless you have a plus package and pepaid them. Tipping has gotten out of hand.
  3. FCC don't get charged to your on board account. When you see the future cruise consultant you'll need to ask them if you can apply the gift card.
  4. I'm still waiting.....................They'll get it sent out after the offer expeires!
  5. You can get one but you have to surrender your medallion. If you have a pacemaker it's advised you don't use the medallion because of the magnet. Didn't they offer you the cruise card if you gave them the medallion, you can't keep both.
  6. Not upset at all with the opinions only the name calling, nasty comments, and tin hat references which aren't called for. If we all thought alike we wouldn't need menu's, we'd have the same exact dinner or drink or whatever. We are all different and alike and need to be respectful but staying anonymous on blogs has given some bulling traits. I really don't need to see my name or picture plastered on a big screen next to the elevator when I approach. I know who I am. I choose not to carry my smart phone, it's locked in the safe except in ports (for emergencies) and when I'm ready to disembark. Who really needs to know how long I take in the bathroom or the pool or elsewhere? It's my preference to put the medallion in the RFID sleeve and take it out only when needed.
  7. There's nothing to explain, opinions are not right or wrong that's why they're opinions and not facts. People need to accept that there are different opinions and respect that and try to get along. Too much divisiveness right now.
  8. You can get a regular cruise card at guest relations if you wish. I use the medallion only to unlock my cabin door. I keep it in an RFID credit card sleeve because I hate the idea of being tracked every minute. The credit card sleeves do indeed block the signal and costs less then 25 cents.
  9. I'm still waiting........................................................
  10. I'm still waiting for the first responder email they said would be sent out Dec 5
  11. So when you look to buy a car do you just pay full sticker because you can afford to or do you seek some value for your dollar?
  12. As long as it's merely a suggestion and can be adjusted at the guest services that will be okay with me. Also received an email today from RCL stating D+ are no longer allowed in the concierge lounge. Cruising is becoming more expensive then other forms of vacationing lately.
  13. I'm still waiting for the email that was supposed to be sent Dec 5
  14. What a bunch of BS! I called to ask about a certain cruise I was interested in and the CSR said she could see I was verified and told me the cruise I was interested in was not on that promotion.
  15. But many people report having been verified so the ball then lies with Princess.
  16. Isn't the new Virgin cruise line Adults Only? That may be a good choice for those who want to escape from the noise of kids. Sometimes we need a break , it's not that we don't care for kids but need a relaxing experience.
  17. The suggestion went up . It's not a requirement to pay what's suggested it is still at the passengers discretion and can be adjusted at guest services.
  18. They said the baby had a passport so Princess dropped the ball here.
  19. suites on Princess have fewer perks then other lines. You do not get seating at the shows and if you don't get to a show early there will be no seats left. There is no happy hour like on RCL with comp'd drinks although on Discovery there is a concierge lounge with some limited alcoholic drinks in the evening. Princess needs to up their game when it comes to suite amenities.
  20. Soda and soft drinks were included once upon a time in the dining rooms with meals. They send a lovely bound small notebook with your boarding pass and itinerary and ship information to your home FREE a month or so before sailing. The only extra used to be an envelopes you used for tipping the cabin steward, your waiter and his assistant. Now they ask for tips to everyone from entertainment to their revenue generating dept AND Princess keeps and admin fee which could be high, it's their secret. By attrition they removed included items and made them charged items. It's now a vacation that has to be scrutinized and added up and compared to other styles of vacation to know if the value is worth while to each individual.
  21. Yes it's important because it's one of so many nickel and dimes charged. By the time you add port fees and taxes, wifi, gratuities, and some people get a beverage package it's more per diem then the cruise fare per diem. It's changed from what has traditionally been a "mostly" inclusive vacation to an a la carte one. Many of us seniors who have cruised for 50 years see too many changes coming too rapidly at a higher cost, with decreases in services. Yes inflation has hit but not to the extreme Princess is going.
  22. You can adjust them either way, up or down, I usually reduce them but never remove them .
  23. Per Princess web site.................... Crew Appreciation is subject to adjustment, at your discretion, at any time during the cruise up to the time you settle your onboard account prior to disembarkation. I adjust them every time. They are merely suggestions. The packages are starting to exceed some fares.
  24. I've done several Alaska cruises and I prefer the 10 day cruisetours out of Vancouver. There are lots of cruisetours to choose from. If budget is an issue pick the beginning of the season in May or end of season in Sept for the lowest fares.
  25. It's been that way previously but take nothing for granted in the new money grab Princess systems.
