  1. When we log in to Captain's Club there is no POINTS HISTORY showing anywhere on the opening page. How do you find it?
  2. Glad you enjoyed it. Sorry got it wrong it's US$50 for 2 chairs/shared brolly for front row. see https://harbourlightsbarbados.com/day
  3. We cruised Equinox in Nov/Dec 2022 and Nov/Dec 2023. Agree with PTC DAWG 2022 cruise was excellent but the most recent ....not so good. A lot of the problems stem from the ship's capacity, 2022 cruise was 75% full whist 2023 was near to 100%. At 100% capacity the service suffers considerably and the the overall experience fell significant short of past experiences. Has Cruising changed.........I'm afraid so.
  4. Why or why do people go to Harbour Lights Beach bar, it's a rip off...... They charge $60 per couple and everyone are packed together like sardines. Just walk the beach, most other places offer 2 sun loungers with umbrella for $20 and you get a front row seat. Is it worth $40 extra at Harbour Lights, believe me it isn't. Their loungers and umbrella are just as worn out as the rest Just 50yards further along the beach near the Yellow Lifeguard Tower is the main car park with good public free toilets and easy access to your Taxi back to the ship for $5pp and plenty of venders selling buckets of beer for a lot less than Harbour Lights.
  5. Recommend you avoid both, expensive rip-off venues. Just walk the beach and choose your spot, don't be forced to sit 4 rows back from the sea in a congestion area for twice the price of elsewhere along the beach. Taxis vans from the port try to take passengers to either the Boatyard or Harbor Lights as they are paid an incentive for their business.......avoid, avoid
  6. * Celebrity did stock the library, they blamed theft as the problem. * Mobility scooters should be limited to those that reserve Handicapped Cabins, read the Concordia report. * In the Instruction Leaflet, advised to leave ship before 9am but no mention of a restriction post 9.30am.
  7. I concur with the OP's opinion, Celebrity Equinox has definitely deteriorated in the last 12 months. A few other changes that affected us :- * Library had NO books, even on change over day when its stock should be at maximum. * Back to Back cruiser were stopped leaving the ship after 9am. * Mobile scooters have quadrupled - my ankles still hurt. * Many items on Classic Bev. Pkg. not available even on day 2 after restocking. * Security staff need better training / supervision ...... some very aggressive.
  8. We are both Elite and were on the Equinox 21st and 30th November cruises. My wife and I did not complete any survey and were given an additional 30 Minutes on top of the 90 minutes as Captains club perk for the second cruise without asking. It was a surprise and were told it was introduced a month ago.
  9. Our opinion of the same cruise, we were B2B boarded 21st Nov. and departed 10th Dec :- Never seen so many scooters in all my life and the size of people.....oh! The crew on the whole were very good. OVC was a place to avoid, food quality poor. Cafe al Bacio was Ok, not crowded most of the time. Coffee never hot even when asked. Entertainment ...... worst ever. Cruise Director ....loud and brash. Disembarkation was a nightmare outside the Terminal with little organisation. Classic bev..... down graded, wine choice almost non-existant. Unfortunately we book a February 2024 cruise a year previous, not looking forward to it, so disappointing. Definitely will be our last Celebrity Cruise, penny pinching to the extreme. Sorry but I really have nothing good to say, we turned Elite plus during the first cruise so really can state that the decline of Celebrity is astonishing. Maybe other Cruise Lines are following the same path.......
  10. Celebrity Black Friday deals take people for Mugs. Med Cruise July 2024 On 8th November prices for V2 cabin was £3750 plus $200 obc (AIl Included rate) Black Friday Deal - same cabin V2 costs £3951 plus $300 obc. (All Included rate) (Uk travel agent rate discounting Celebrity)
  11. Celebrity made the rules, so I suggest you follow them.....Adjust...adjust
  12. Perverse thoughts ...... maybe you should be employed by Celebrity
  13. Too avoid any mis-information, goto Celebrity's Terms and Conditions which says very clearly " Gratuities may be adjusted at the Guest's discretion onboard at Guest Relations up until morning of departure " So the correct answer should be YES, the OP can adjust their gratuities to suit their situation. https://www.celebritycruises.com/faqs/all-faqs
  14. Dylan - You new the score when you booked, you were given the opportunity to pre-pay gratuities when you booked, you obviously decided against. Be it on your own conscience............the saying "when in Rome" appear appropriate.
  15. The problem with auto-tips is that the staff still expect you to tip them again.........
  16. Seaview is the sister ship to Seaside, which we've been on earlier this year around the Caribbean in the YC. The YC is excellent, food was superb as was the service, but outside of the YC is a bit manic and best avoided. The Spa is absolutely fabulous, hot/cold impulse shower to an excellent snow room, we booked an hour every day which is included free with YC. We tried the water chute ONCE, exhilarating and can't stop laughing. Don't be tempted to try an Inside cabin, so cramped with little closet space and the shower is really for children, so small unless you get the Handicapped YIN. Biggest negative for us was the lack of shade on the Pool deck.....none at all. Unsure if they are still doing Loyalty match with other cruise lines but if they are well it is worth getting as it will reduce you fare by at least 10%.
  17. I was fortunate to get 30% off in the Flash Sale in May for Equinox cruises in November 23 and February 24.
  18. Agreed as I said in post #7. I was answering Gold1953 - who said VAT was charged when in Spanish waters which is incorrect. If applicable it is charged for the full duration of the cruise not just who's waters you are in. Unlike in the US where Tax is due on purchases made onboard until in International waters.
  19. ....agree that Celebrity should be more open and publicise the VAT charges in its FAQ's
  20. I have no problem with Celebrity's dress code or the way it's enforced, after all it a holiday. More importantly people should take frequent showers and ensure they wear clean clothes.
  21. On Mediterranean cruises, no matter which cruise line, VAT will be applied to all onboard purchases no matter which waters you are in. The applicable VAT will be French, Spanish or Italian and varies between 20%-22% which is determined by the embarkation port.
  22. If you purchase the drinks package when aboard the VAT will be applied to your cruise if a non-EU port is not on its itinerary. All pre-cruise purchases are exempt from VAT regardless of ports of call. Examples of Non-EU ports are - Gibraltar, Kotor, Kusadasi, Istanbul, Israel, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco
  23. If you want to see US site without defaulting back to your region, you need to access via a VPN. It's easy.
  24. We all realise that inflation has been rampant across the world and accept that cruise fares have to increase like everything else but why the subterfuge. Celebrity just be HONEST and don't try to conceal the inevitable price rises, you just leave a Bad Taste rather than getting people's understanding.
  25. Try a Land Holiday in the US then you will realise that even with upcharges, a Celebrity Cruise is still excellent value for money IMHO
