Been reading this and the carnival feed most of the day. Truly horrible situation but dear God this picture???? Truly wish it HAD been Photoshopped.

As a PSW working with seniors this makes me feel sick. Those poor people. Read the post below it that said they had now been rescued. Thank heavens.

Many, many thanks to the first responders out there for what they are doing and for the nursing home staff for being there for their residents. Truly awful pictures coming out of Texas. Thoughts and prayers from Canada.

I'm a PSW and there are no words to describe how I feel about this right now...

  2. If you aren't concerned yet....you should see how many people come out of the bathroom and don't wash their hands. And not just kids either. And the people who have snot all over their hands and touch the railings and the elevator buttons and who knows what else.

Be prepared-bring a plastic bubble for guaranteed safety....and a quick way down the stairs!

  3. They were monitoring them on Freedom as well. I got up to the pool deck around 730am and there were already loungers claimed for days.(With just towels). In the row behind me never saw anyone come until maybe around 9:30am ish it was a gentleman looking for a chair. We told him to just take the one behind us since it'd been two hours. Finally its "owner" did show up and was livid someone had taken her "spot"

She was told nicely to move on by a few people around that area.

  4. They usually "catch" the fact that you are a consecutive cruiser and don't deliver until your real last night.

Just make friends with someone on the first cruise. Give them cash to buy your bottle. Get it from their cabin their last night. :D:halo:

We just came off a B2B on Freedom-they dropped his alcohol (My Brothers) off the last night of the first leg. He just packed it away.

Back to back cruises are def the way to go. I usually skip the lunch they offer for the B2B people and find myself a nice chair pool side and enjoy the hot tubs while they're empty. :D Take some pictures that it'd be harder to get of the ship, etc.

  5. Not like FLL TSA has never seen one before.

FLL must have the highest percentage of cruisers to non-cruisers of any airport. On a typical winter weekend there are 10,000 people getting off RCI. I don't know how many of these fly, but assume 50%. Don't know how many are Diamond, but IME there are a lot of Ds, and probably about 10% of the total passenger load has reached 140 C&A points. Passengers who have gotten to Block status get a block on average every 10 cruises (actually higher than that since Suite passengers get one every 5 weeks). Assume further that every Block handed out goes to a couple (cutting the number in half).

(10,000 Passengers)*(0.10 in Block range)*(0.10 of in Block range getting a Block that cruise)*(0.5 for 1 Block per couple) = 50 blocks arriving at Port Everglades every winter weekend day and approximately 25 RCI Crystal Blocks going through security at FLL every winter weekend day. Wake up TSA:rolleyes:

We got TSA PRE and the TSA took my block out too-said they'd never seen one before. They did take a swab to it to check for drugs too.
