  1. That is kind of poor service from the concierge. I really dislike being told that something has been booked, or fixed, or corrected and then finding out that nothing has been done. Thanks for your review, it was entertaining.
  2. What a difference a day makes! Here is an online photo of Castelo di Amorosa, blanketed with snow today in Napa.
  3. No. The hills around us did, and the Twain Harte house did, we just had rain. It looks snowy in Napa though. ☺️
  4. They haven't had it on any ships since the re-start.
  5. I haven't sailed on Freedom. But I hope you will post and let us know how it is going. I always so enjoy your live reviews! ☺️
  6. I never saw your original post. I just saw it quoted. I am sorry about the surgery, but glad they were able to find it under your hair.
  7. I thought I had read something recently about V. Sattui Winery. Their 275 year old showpiece oak tree came down in the January storms. Very sad. https://www.northbaybusinessjournal.com/article/article/storm-topples-275-year-old-napa-valley-oak-at-napa-valley-winery-v-sattui/?artslide=1 🙁
  8. I did that accidentally to our secretary one year. "Um, you have dirt on your forehead". And she said Ash Wednesday, and I apologized. We are non-denominational, so it doesn't always register. Although it should, because Bill spent all day on the couch, with his cold yesterday, watching the Fat Tuesday festivities in New Orleans. ☺️
  9. We were on a TP, and went out to dinner in Papeete with our friends, a couple from Australia. When DH went to pay the bill at the table, our friend kept slapping his hand, and saying, "No tip! Do not leave a tip! You don't tip here" It is difficult for us to get used to that sort of mind set.
  10. No. Or maybe a little. Tipping is a personal matter and is not the norm (at all) in all countries. I think cruise line staff are used to that, as opposed to US employees. They seem to be delighted, or at least pleased when an additional gratuity is offered.
  11. Maybe it is new, and just another way to keep money in RC's pocket instead of ours? They have to refund it eventually, if it isn't spent onboard, but in the meantime, interest rates are up. 🤔
  12. Alaska cruises tend to be rather casual (IMO). We just wore jeans and sweatshirts several nights. I didn't even bring any dresses.
  13. Hmmm. No. Maybe someone pushed the wrong button on their end? I think that is only supposed to happen when you are within 3 days of sailing. Has someone been playing board games again? 😄
  14. Bill has a horrible cold but is covid negative. He wanted to go to the ag show with a few hundred thousand. 🙄 I just hope I don't catch it, because we are cruising soon.
  15. Yes. But that just gives me the total cost, minus the OBC that I used to purchase it. It is much easier (if I remember), to note the price per day on that printout to compare costs with the current price per day. 😉
  16. Oh No! Your trip is this week? I'm so sorry you and Michelin will be arriving just in time for a record cold snap and very high winds. It should still be nice, but they are predicting snow down to 1,000 feet later in the week. You may experience the unusual sight of Bay Area and Wine Country hills with snow tops. ☺️
  17. The current price in my planner shows up just fine. There is a just a little blue banner that says reserved. You can't see the price you originally paid, but hopefully you wrote it down somewhere.
  18. They used to have the "Select" package which only included beer and wine.
  19. We've only been on the older ships, and I have never seen a toilet seat cover dispenser or seat covers on Royal Caribbean. I don't think the plumbing system can handle them.
