Just off a 7 day Ascent cruise in a Sky Suite and will be sailing on the Beyond in February 2025. While many things may change, this is an excellent review. Thanks for taking us along. 😀

Jim, thanks for the complete and very educational live description of your trip. I don't comment or ask many questions since you have every detail covered. We are headed out on the Ascent in February and look forward to evaluating all the changes. Safe travels home and Go Vols, Beat Iowa!

Wow... nicely done. I love facts versus emotional rants. It looks like a trend starting and will be interesting to see how it holds up and whether it is directed at one class of ship or cabin.

Jim, really enjoying your commentary and beautiful pictures. Interesting alternative to Celebrity which we have been loyal, but now must consider alternatives as they make many changes. Jim_Lain is my favorite travel channel. Continue to have a safe and fun trip.

Just checked my on-line payment balance for a cruise on in February 2024 Celebrity Ascent booked on-board Edge in February 2023. Celebrity has separated the prepaid tips amount with no adjustment resulting in a higher balance. No explanation given, no e-mail received. Just tips as an added fee. Buyer beware ☹️

I think this is a cultural change from service focus to cost focus. The RCL Group CEO's career is all financial and accounting. Given the pandemic damage done to the company, it is my opinion he was put in place to "right the ship". The new Celebrity leadership is executing against the objectives they were assigned. Perks and reduced pricing will only return to incent new customers when Celebrity is not filling up suite cabins. Until that time I expect changes to continue to help pay down debt and increase margins.

With all the changes in the pricing structure, is Celebrity still offering lower deposits and additional OBC to book a cruise while on-board? In the past we have booked on-board with $100 deposit per person and a sizable OBC.

Wow... I certainly remember the strip shopping center across from the mansion since my pediatrician was in Whitehaven we routinely visited that area. We were living in East Memphis at the time and the small house (before Graceland) where he once lived was near Audubon Park. The wall had a brick base and wrought iron music notes on top. Shopped Goldsmith's and Lowenstein's many times. Maybe my age is showing... whoops! Have a great trip(s). Hope our paths cross one day... perhaps on Celebrity 🙂
