My son (and husband!) would love to see the Lego House at Billund

Not that difficult to navigate public transportation -  with a bit of preparation.

There are two options - both are about two hours each way.

Take the train from Aarhus central station to Vejle station - then a bus to Legoland - the other option is bus from Aarhus to Billund Airport and then another bus to Legoland.

Both options will require some 15 minutes walk from the pier. Might also be possible with light rail or bus to either the bus station or Central Station from the pier.

if you have a specific date as well as time I can direct you to the best planning tools.

Also ship in order to locate the pier.

If the traffic is bad then Google maps suggest 2 alternative routes over the country side.

Both of these routes takes of off at the motorway at......... Exit 55.

So if the traffic is bad (im not saying it will be) you can just take the the detour

Yes - there might be traffic jam Thursday afternoon - I might suggest a more southern route via Ebberup/Assens - 10 km and 25 minutes longer  - very nice tour without traffic

A decent map is worth a thousand words

The map I got was much less than thousand words - might not have the correct access to Google Drive

Goin back immigration and customs will be at JFK - you’ll need to pick up you luggage in JFK  - go through customs and then deliver luggage at you airline counter just after customs.

Enjoy Copenhagen and you Baltic cruise.

’m also visiting Stockholm and Skagen.  Obviously the Finnish ports have the euro but the others have their own krona. Do any of them accept euros or will I have to buy the specific krona for each one?

Credit Cards very widely accepted for Denmark and Sweden - however recommended to have a Chip/Pin card - you will not need Kroner - Euro is not widely accepted, but if tipping (not required in Denmark or Sweden) you can tip in Euro.

I will do a search for any ships that may meet the standard. Ours is a new ship as of 12/18.

It’s not only about the age of the ship - if the ship is not LNG powered it will also depend on quality of bunker fuel.

Regarding excursions in Flåm the primary attraction is the train - might be that time tables for 2020 are not yet available.

I meant how did they know that the Sky will be docking in actual Stockholm on the June 8 sailing.

Normally I do check time of arrival/departure at the actual port side  - for Stockholm at https://www.portsofstockholm.com/vessel-calls/

But too early - no 2020 information yet - probably the same for St. Petersburg.

Princess has the itinerary with either Stockholm or Nynäshamn at their web - I assume that they are quoting the correct itinerary, however they do have the rights to change.

Here is an example on itinerary for June 6 and 19 as an example

Sky Princess is the same size as Regal and Royal Princess and they have been into Stockholm so Sky Princess can as well (depending on weather).

Yes  - Sky Princess can sail into Stockholm - Some Sky Princess Baltic Sea Cruises from Copenhagen does sail to Stockholm - others to Nynäshamn (Close to Stockholm)  -

The day by day itinerary has it docking outside of Stockholm at that place I can't spell or pronounce.

Yes - Nynäshamn is difficult to pronounce if you're not a Swede.  - May 17 and  28 as well as June 8 and 30 does go to Stockholm  - others to Stockholm (Nynashamn) .

Our cruise ends on a Sunday morning, docking at 7am. We are considering a SAS Airlines 12:20pm flight

Not a problem at all - last time I were at the airport before 9 by train from Østerport to the Airport

Ships are normally cleared quite fast - do not expect customs.

Taxi from cruise port (assuming Oceankaj) to Airport is 30 minutes a Sunday morning. You just have to be at the airport by 10.

  11. I cannot see any difference between the two Geiranger tours  - you might consider the panorama bus as suggested by Kitkat343 - and then have the lunch at Brasserie Posten - the highlight for Geiranger is the scenic sailing in and out of the fjords - be up early to enjoy the fjord  sailing - don't miss the Seven Sisters waterfall at your left side just before entering  Geiranger - or at your way out.

Going to Loen Skylift or Briksdal Glacier on your own will require to rental car - driving from Geiranger to Briksdal Glacier is at leat 2h 15 min - Loen Skylift is 1h 45 min.

  12. Keflsvik is a very small airport - 1 h 30 M is ‘plenty of time’.

All Iceland Air flights are arriving from USA into KEF almost at the same time in the morning - then the same planes will continue almost at the same time towards different European destinations- very efficient.

Pass port control in KEF while customs in OSL - luggage will be checked throttle OSL so you do not need to worry about your luggage in KEF.

    Enjoy you flight and cruise.

    Hi,

I have seen somewhereon the forum that there's restrictions for the fjords in the future. Do you know when and which ships are exempt?

Would I know purely by itinerary which ships are permitted into the smaller fjords, or is there some sort of list or permit they need?

Correct - very strict restrictions on emission starting from this year - from 2026 zero emissions will be allowed in the Heritage Fjords which today is Geiranger and Nærøyfjord - future might also include Trollfjord at Lofoten - however Trollfjord can only be navigated by small ships  - from 2026 only ships with electric propulsion will be allowed in the Heritage Fjords.

For the other ports/Fjords it will depend on the emission from the actual ship - many cruise lines are building LNG ships - they can sail on most of the ports and Fjords - but not the Heritage Fjords where only electric ships can sail. Old cruise ships with emission above limits will not be allowed in the Fjords already today.

You can find more information here

Norway challenges the cruise industry to operate emission free

New environmental requirements in the world heritage fjords

Hurtigruten is currently upgrading their ships for LNG as well as batteries for electric propulsion. Havila Kystruten starting serving the Norwegian Coastal Route with four out of the 11 departures together with Hurtigruten by January 2021 has currently four LNG / hybrid battery ships under construction.

They will probably be the only cruise ships sailing to Geiranger and into Trollfjord.

In going to another country within western Europe (not sure of the correct term, Schengen or not) we have not had an additional security check

Might depend on your origin however for FRA in most cases you must clear security check on you way through the airport.

Hi Hallasam thank you for the prompt responce. Which are the post important ports to see the nicest views and ports in your opinion please?

My top ports in Norway are Geiranger, Flåm and Olden - nice views from the mountains and great scenic sailings through the long Fjords.

Lofoten and sailing Trollfjord is also great, however only smaller ships.

Bergen is a nice city to visit

Another highlight is midnight sun inside Polar Circle - from Lofoten and towards north during summer to Honningsvåg with Nort Cape or even Svalbard.

But all Norwegian ports have stunning nature and sceneries.
