  1. Though hopefully they do after a few months working on it in city air!?
  2. Thank you so much Terry for your link to your fabulous Southern Africa cruise and Belmond Botswana stays. Your photos are a challenge to see if we can create anything vaguely similar! Unless you really were nose to nose with that lion? But first we need to take our sea otter, bald eagle and whale shots next July! Thank you again - love all your cruises!
  3. Wow Terry you went to Botswana. Is there one of your ace blogs for that somewhere? It is my bucket list destination. For SE Asia I found an inbound travel agent for Borneo (on Trip Advisor), and booked nice chain hotels - Fairmont, Shangri-La, and BA & Malaysian Airlines flights myself on all their websites. Worked really well - I think the trip report is on Trip Advisor.
  4. Have they got it all fixed QueSeraSera? Please keep giving us a day by day update with your cruise, thank you so much!
  5. I recommend La Veranda Restaurant, Elišky Krásnohorské 2 - see my review on Trip Advisor. I also second spending the afternoon in the Jewish synagogue museums and fascinating graveyard. We did the morning tour (Xmas market cruise) with Avalon which did not go inside the Cathedral, but we did take their included coach back to the hotel because I think it's further to walk back down than you think!
  6. Brilliant Terry, thank you so much! All looks lovely! So there never was a list of the included wines? Presumably there was a list of the paid wines?

We are thinking about a Tauck cruise on Le Soleal. What kind of brands of wine and champagne are included please - would hate to need to pay for alcohol if the included ones are good quality. Or are they inexpensive entry level wines only? Thank you for your help.
  8. Gosh! Really interesting Terry - especially about the large number of bears and the small number of roads!
  9. Love all the photos Terry - any more from around the ship?
  10. Thank you all. We live in London - it is worse to drive here than Athens! Though still better than Palermo! So cities are not an issue, just easily getting hold of the car without wasting time on that. I think you are right and we will go for the cab option!
  11. Thank you so much martincath, this is very helpful. The only reason I didn't want to let our whale watching cut into our Victoria time is that with Butchart Gardens I think Victoria itself will take all day. But I shall look up PoW trip with the gardens, thank you. Re hiring a car just for one day from downtown - where would you do that?
  12. Thank you Terry for all photos, plus menus. Going back to Vancouver we aim to go to Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, a floatplane day to Victoria to see Butchart Gardens and downtown / museum there - may book this autumn, whale watching from Vancouver - may book this autumn, Grouse mountain, UBC Museum of Anthropology, Granville Island, Vancouver Tower, Christchurch Cathedral, Vancouver Art Gallery + shops! Just to say for anyone doing FlyOver Canada - I think this is what I did in the Epcot Centre some years ago, which led to a very unwell experience with a flower bed! If you are planning to take Dramamine or whatever for the cruise, as I am, you may want to take it for that too. I won't try and do it again!
  13. I see nowornever thank you - and thank you Terry - so I guess there was no M & M on the Alaska Muse cruise? Yes we are 1st timers, so will go to that reception if we can! Maybe I should put up our roll call sooner rather than later? We haven't ocean cruised, but have taken 2 river cruises so far and loved them. Everyone was very sociable and we sat with lots of nice people for meals.
