    Maui Whale watching

Great thanks. That looks like the way to get there, better than a taxi.

Hi, on the crown princess leaving LA on 7th Dec. docking at Kahului on 15th, rather than Lahaina which is a real shame as that seems to be the best port to stop at. In from 7 to 6 so we thought if we took an 11.30 tour which lasts for a few hours, would be ideal which gives us time to get a bus rather than a taxi to save some pennies! I can only see one tour from here but they look good, but also unsure what the probability of seeing any whales are, as think this is still early in season? any help appreciated, thanks
  3. Hi. On princess cruise to Hawaii, in Maui (Kahului) on 15th Dec. There are only 2 excursions with Princess which we are not interested in so looking at whale watching. We are looking at getting the bus from the port to Maalaea (which looks pretty straightforward) and going with the Pacific whale foundation on a 2 hour cruise. Has anyone does this ? We have never been to Hawaii before so would love to do this. Thought it was a bit far to try to get to Lahaina as wouldn’t drive (from the UK) and unsure whether there will be more cruise excursions added. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
  4. Hi, going on Mardi Gras at xmas. Beginning to do my planning and wondered if anyone had any up to date info on how long it takes to disembark Ship at Port C? Only done it once with another cruise line a few years ago and it took about 2 hours. Also not USA citizens so takes longer. Also is it the case that we can still choose disembarkation time, so we could stay on as late as possible? Thanks all
  5. It does say 16 nights or longer’ on the princess website. So I think it’s ok as mine is 15 nights, recorded as a ‘15 day cruise’. But will be happier when Princess confirm for definite. Fingers crossed “Guests sailing on voyages 16 nights or longer, or sailing on full Panama Canal transits, trans-ocean and other specific itineraries, need to take a supervised test within three days of embarkation (guests 5 and older). Guests on these types of voyages will be contacted directly by an Ocean Navigator to assist”
  6. Great news. But does a 15 night Hawaii cruise from LA count ?? Anyone have an idea. I think the 15 nights seems to fit as it says 16 nights or over but what about the ‘trans-ocean’ part? Or does that mean going from one side of the ocean to another? Cheers
  7. Hi, we used Medway tests when coming from U.K. buy the test and do it online so it’s supervised. Very reliable and easy. But as long as the test is FDA approved, it should be fine.
  8. Thanks both. Useful information and we have now modified our flight. Unfortunately had to go with the 3pm flight as no other option (our flight was originally midday which is why we choose it), as would only get e-credit if we cancel. But it’s ok, will stay on ship as long as we can before we battle the Christmas traffic and crazy LAX. Thanks
  9. Hi. Disembarking from Crown on December 22nd. Delta have now changed our domestic flight to 10.52 out of LAX to Orlando. I think the ship is due in about 06.15am but our experience of disembarking in US is having quite lengthy delays especially as we are Non American. We would have to get a taxi to LAX, it’s also Xmas week so will be busy, we don’t think it’s doable. Anyone done this or have any experience ? Wonder whether we would be better changing to the 3pm flight. Thanks all.
