  1. In April we were on Symphony and had room 8293 (right next to Dazzles) and it was quite noisy. The band set up in Dazzles was on the same side as our room and really loud at times. I had read a warning from another cruiser that had this room and brought a small white noise machine. This really helped to drown out the sound but we could still hear the base most nights. I think if you are not one of the rooms that “shares” a wall you will be fine.

  2. Deck 11 (5th from the back). It was SO loud pretty much every night until 1am. They showed movies until then or the fine line. However I think our balcony door had issues sealing - maintenance came a couple times to fix it. We could hear wind whistling until their 2nd visit. But even after the fix we could hear all the shows like the speakers were in our room. Our Central Park balcony on the Allure last year was super quiet. Good choice to go that route.

  3. The port (took Indy in 2017) into Amsterdam was about a 45 min drive with traffic. We did the ship tour that took us into the city, did a boat canal tour and then had about 2.5 hours to explore on our own and then toured a windmill. I though it was great and would recommend it. I don’t remember seeing HOHO busses at port but I could have missed them. Good luck! Love that city.

  4. That is good to hear. We are definitely gonna miss the Diamond Hour. Having to pay for alcohol at night is gonna be quite the experience, as we booked a guarantee cabin which did not come with any of the perks they give in the promotion. It would have been a 1084 dollar difference for us to book a cabin with perks, and we do not drink THAT much. lol.

The itinerary is Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Southampton, Cork, Ponta Delgado, NYC.

Yes Diamond hour spoils us for sure even though we are only soda drinkers. But NCL only has Pepsi products and won’t allow you to bring any drinks on board ( besides the initial 2 bottles of wine) at all so we just enjoyed our Coke Zero while in port. British airways lost both of our luggage on the way over and we didn’t get it for 8 days which made for lots of shopping each port day. Hopefully you have better luck with your airline. Your ports sound fun!

  5. I just got off a Breakaway Baltic last month and thought it was great! I was nervous too and thought I would miss my RCL loyalty perks and what I am used to. NCL is much more comparable to RCL now than it was the last time I sailed them many years ago. I am taking my kids on the Allure on Sunday but won’t hesitate to book a bigger NCL ship next time. I hope you enjoy your cruise and I will look forward to reading your comparisons!

  6. Went March of this year and thought it was great. I was nervous about what I had heard about the all American crew but it was a needless concern. Our stateroom attendant was not American and said 70% of the staff was American and the other 30% of the ship staff was other nationalities. He was awesome and so friendly. Land vacations in Hawaii are fun but I thought the POA was a fun way to island hop and would do it again.

  7. Has anyone else been unable to access their online account? We cannot view any of our trip info for the March 10 (or 11th now) cruise and the page says it's on "permanent vacation". I plan to call later today, but wanted to hear if anyone else is having this experience.

I am on the March 3rd sailing and can't download my E-Docs. It says "reservation is not ready to be retrieved." Of course I procrastinated printing them. ;p Hopefully they load before we fly out for the cruise in a couple days.

  8. Last March on Harmony we easily hooked up an iPad to the cabin tv in the way you are wanting to. The TV swung out away from the wall on its tv mount so it was easy to plug in the hdmi. We did have a universal remote to change the TV input. In august we hooked up the iPad the same way to the tv on the Liberty but we had to unplug the phone jack input on the back of the tv to get control of the tv input with the universal remote. On Indy in October I could not get my universal remote to change the input at all. None of the “tricks” I read online worked. I will have to try channel 3 next time!

  9. We just flew back from Europe and got home Tuesday morning. Flew on British Airways out of London Heathrow terminal 3 and were not interviewed or given any additional screening. In fact they didnt make us take our shoes off at security which i found odd. But at the gate they had agents checking everyone’s boarding passes and many were chosen randomly for additional screening at the gate. It looked like they were asking people questions and completely going through their carry on luggage. Our flight left 20 minutes late because of it. Once we arrived back in the US we had a typical quick CBP experience. I guess we lucked out this trip from Europe as we weren’t chosen for the extra screening!

  10. When we were on Allure last year we ordered chips and guacamole with a couple of margaritas. Can I do this on Liberty?

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

We asked and they said no. Have to pay the $30pp and no "to go" options. Loved being able to stop by Sabor on Harmony in March for just the chips and guacamole. But it was a no go on Liberty.

  11. Also just off Liberty. I booked FNDR online and went to Chops after boarding and asked if I could use it there. They scheduled me without issues. On the August 20th cruise Chops was $39 for dinner and $19 for lunch, Sabor was $30 for dinner and $19 for lunch and Giovanni's was $30 for dinner and $15 for lunch. Definitely but it online as you will save a lot compared to booking it onboard.

  12. Just off the LOS and I had a cabin right next to the start of the hump balconies. They seemed to have a film on the glass and it cast a very bright purple/pink hue. It kinda drove me nuts as it came through the frosted glass partition to my balcony at times.

Edited to add: I just realized we were not next to the hump balconies. It was next to the "mini hump" balconies under the cantilever hot tubs.

  13. I got off the Liberty yesterday in Miami. When we got into port Michael Bayley got on board and made an announcement thanking everyone for their good attitudes and patience. He said that they were going to completely provision the ship for its ride back to Galveston. He also said they were loading up all sorts of cleaning supplies and other needed items that would be donated to those in need in the Houston area when they go into port. Glad to be home today and hoping for the best for those still onboard and of course thoughts with those in Texas.

  14. Why would you have to give up the apple at airport security?

I assume you received the gift bag after leaving the ship as customs would not be letting any fruit from the ship to go on shore.

Threw the water bottle out when I got to the airport and tossed the apple too as I didn't want it. We received the bags after the terminal. At CBP we didn't have to do a declarations paper nor did they ask if we bought anything. Nicest CPB I have had yet- very friendly and just looked at our passports and said welcome back.

All staff at the terminal were very friendly and welcoming.
