You have your opinion, and I have mine. It may have made sense at the time, but it is antiquated and makes no logical sense in this day and time. 🍷
Try to explain that to the American seamen who work on ships plying the US coastal waters.

This is an Italian cruise line, available only to Italians, sailing only to Italian ports. My guess is that their protocols and /or information were written in Italian and maybe our English translation, which is what we are discussing, is the problem.

But I was officially notified by NCL about the change in final payment to 60 days prior to sailing.
Please be careful. I have read that while final payment dates have moved, your right to cancel without penalty remains at the original final payment date.

Hear are videos of our window suite F307 on the Grand.

How did this post get so far off the original statement of a family being removed from the cruise. I think this post needs to end and if everyone wants to debate face masks vs. shields start a new post.

Upon your return home are you going to have to quarantine for 14 days?

Norovirus is responsible for approximately 200,000 deaths globally.
Can you show me a statistic for that number? The numbers I can find show 900 deaths for noro in the USA.

What is the difference between getting covid and noro?
I have not heard of anyone who has died from noro but at least 150,000 have died for covid in the USA alone. HUGE difference.

To all the people willing to fly. How do you think the virus arrived in the USA? How do you think the virus got from state to state and city to city so quickly? It would seem to me it was because people were using airlines to travel from location to location. I think I will wait for a while before flying again.

The Vision of the Seas also has a suite (no balcony) that sleeps 8. Room #8000. It has a separate bedroom with 4 bunks and a second bathroom. It is up front adjacent to the bridge just like the Grandeur.

While this method has been patented it has not yet been approved by the various sailing authorities as a substitute for the current muster.

I think the problem might be the time it takes to get everyone checked thru the new muster system. Now it takes about 1 hour start to finish and most of the crew is involved. This new system will require crew members in each muster station for what 3 to 5 hours waiting for passengers to straggle in. I hope it works but but I am a little skeptical.

How can the ship be sure that every person has watched the video from their stateroom TV or individual app? Will each passenger in the same stateroom have to log in and watch it individually? Ought to be interesting.

NCL Pride of America around the islands for 7 days from Honolulu.
I wish you the best, BUT currently Hawaii has these rules in place:
PRE-TRAVEL TESTING PROGRAM: Beginning September 1, all travelers arriving in Hawaii from out-of-state will be required to get a valid COVID-19 Nucleic Acid Amplification Test (NAAT) within 72 hours of boarding their flight to Hawaii, and to show proof of a negative test result upon arrival at the airport, to avoid the 14-day quarantine. The FDA-approved NAAT test from a CLIA-certified laboratory will need to be done prior to arrival. No testing will be provided upon arrival at the airport.

Be aware!
I have heard that while the final payment date may have been changed, the cancellation date in the original invoice has not been changed. If you decide to cancel at the new payment date there will be no refund as your cancellation date has already passed and your deposit is the penalty. This may not be the case here, but be aware.

Here is a link to RCCL suite benefits:

My guess is that 9 days ago RCCL cancelled your cruise and will keep your deposit because you are now in the penalty period. I hope I am wrong but the way things are going, who knows.

Sorry, I thought you were writing a restaurant review and posted it to the wrong place.
-
If this is a dinner cruise how does this relate to RCCL cruising?
-
It is not cancel for any reason. The policy is: Provider: iTravelInsured, Product: Travel SE purchased on October 28, 2019, Insured amount is $15,000. The tour of Italy was $9,120 (postponed until 2022 so no financial loss here), the balance is airfares and cruise.
-
The primary reason for my insurance was a 2 week tour of Italy with Oberammergau, in August 2020. That trip has been postponed by the travel company until 2022, so no loss here. But I have included in the value of my insurance 4 flights and a cruise which are no longer required and will need to cancelled. Would any of these flights and or cruise be recoverable?
-
My guess is the cruise will not happen but will not be cancelled my RCCL before our final payment is due.

My solution is for them to communicate in a fair manner with paying customers and that's "unrealistic"? I appreciate your opinion but completely disagree with it. Fairness implies both sides would or could treat each other in a similar manner with similar results and that's just not the case here. I don't know how things got so sideways where people don't think they are owed being "dealt with straight".
It my guess is that HAL is dealing with 50,000 to 100,000 passenger refunds, maybe more. There is no way to provide individual communications or attention for each passenger. Passenger's will have to wait their turn and complaining is not going to allow anyone to cut the line.

It is about the amount of time you spend in that indoor space. I going shopping once a week but I am only in the store or an hour or less, then back home. If I go to a restaurant I am there for an hour or so, then back home. In a ship you will eat, sleep, play and lounge together for 168 (24 hours x 7 days) hours. I think it is all about the potential amount exposure time.
