  1. Some anecdotal information for you to peruse. A friend is a nurse in a hospital. Upon diagnosis of Covid-19, they are given HCQ, zinc and z-pak. He said usually they get to go home to convalesce. That is being done as we speak. Don't know how they're getting by the FDA but it's working! I've heard ER doctors that swear by it's use with Covid treatment. It's depending on where in their sickness they are given the drug and their preexisting illnesses. It's not as cut and dried as you want to say it and as has been ruled. It's not a science thing! It has been made into a political thing! Just MHO.
  2. Thanks for suggesting Celebrity! I will look into them!
  3. Thanks to all that took time to reply. I'm still in the "looking" and planning phase but you all have given me valued information. I also would like to hear the comparisons of the Yacht Club and Haven. We usually eat at Specialty restaurants every other night, so the same menu in the Haven restaurant isn't a problem for our group. It's large enough and varied enough that all can find something delish! We also enjoyed the children's programs to keep our grandkids occupied. The Haven observation area was where we spent lots of time, with the treats, drinks and comfortable seating! Loved it!!
  4. Oh wow! Our son stayed in Joy’s owners suite and it was AMAZING! We’re definitely looking for a similar experience. We stayed in aft haven but the walk was too much for us but the room was fabulous, but of course way below the OS. I already looked at MSC but was put off by the 2 story suite. Climbing up and down would be a bad thing for me! Is that the configuration for their upper end suites?
  5. Oh, okay..... sure will! And I notice they’re starting up already! Another plus! So ready to get back to cruising! Thank for the quick reply!
  6. Question for you frequent cruisers. Though we love Norwegian we’ve run out of places we really want to go with them on the newer ships. We have a group of 5 families that want to plan for next year and a 60 year wedding anniversary so we want Haven equal experience! Any ideas? We like new ships! Can someone guide us?
  7. We were in H6 on deck 14 and it was totally quiet. Never even knew we had neighbors (our cabin was a connecting room, and we never even heard a door, conversation or anything!) Sure didn't hear the go carts. 14 is good!!
  8. Definitely CAN be upgraded or buy outright from H6 to DOS on the Joy! Son and wife did it for May 18 cruise on Joy. She bid on it but noticed that her bid was higher than the lowered price so she cancelled her bid and called and booked at the lowered price. Watch continually, because if it doesn't sell, they keep lowering the price. It was wonderful!!! They got it for $7,000.00 less than original price.
  9. We had H6 cabins on our 5/18 Joy cruise. After security there was a Haven sign to the embarkation/sign in area and it was definitely separate. There were drinks and cookies and fruit all along a wall. There were about 4 people signing people in and it wasn't crowded at the time we got there; probably 10:30 or so. They had butlers escorting groups as they were checked in and ready! Definitely a separate area. I can't say it was definitely for Haven only or for Haven/concierge rooms.
  10. Someone else will have to chime in on the ports. We had been to Alaska, and somewhat disabled, in that I couldn't walk too long, so we just didn't do much.
  11. Well you get an invitation to bid, as I understand it, and different amounts to bid, and as your budget allows you can bid the extra PP for the cabin. My DIL was watching daily, as was I, for the prices to go down, and they did! I think in her particular case, the price dropped to lower than her bid and she called her TA and rebooked the DOS, paying immediately for the difference. BTW it was about $7,000. less than the original asking price! And what a wonderful time they had and we got to enjoy it with them!
  12. I got it, I got it! 😂. I thought so but wanted to make sure! Our first time in Haven but hopefully not the last!! Thanks!
  13. Our son flew out at 1:30 and had plenty of time.
  14. Yes, we were all Haven....I highly recommend The Haven!!!!!
  15. Actually we did try the Nachos and they were huge as I recall.
