  1. Lido and Marina forward cabins all have large decks. We will be in L105 mini on 1/4. hope we like it
  2. This cabin is no longer considered a club class cabin. Too bad. We are waitlisted for club class but 7th in line so it seems unlikely.😔
  3. We are on the 14 day cruise starting 1/4/2020. The cruise look to be pretty sold out. We snagged L105, front of ship, only 2 cabins left.. Do not mind being forward, wanted a mini suite. However, from pictures I've seen of this cabin on the Royal and Regal, it is a little wider but not as long as a regular mini. The couch seems pushed up so part of it is across from the bed. The room seems a little squished. Can anyone confirm from experience. I would expect it to be the same on the SKY. I did look at the 1/4 and 1/11 cruises separately and found many more cabins available. Found the same Emerald deck cabin, aft available for both cruises. Could I speak to Princess and ask to be assigned this for the 14 day?
  4. Can my husband purchase it for 4 devices and then I can use my device as one of the 4. We each only bring our phones.
  5. Thanks, This sounds like a good idea. If we don't get something for the first week we will have a leg up on booking preferred times for the second week.
  6. We are booked on a 14 day sailing, Jan 4 on the Sky Princess. When trying to make advance dining reservations at the specialty restaurants, regardless of the day or restaurant chosen I am only offered times choices of 5:30, 7:30 or 9:30. Is this standard? We'd actually prefer a time like 6:30 or 7. Has anyone else experienced this?
  7. When we arrived in Venice on 6/14 and stayed at the Hilton Molino on Giudecca, the River Countess was moored rights across the canal where the collision took place. You could clearly see extensive damage. it was moved on 6/17 before we left on our ocean cruise.
  8. We have been in Venice for several days staying at the Hilton Molino Stuckry. this hotel is directly across from where the infamous collision happened. we could see the boat clearly and up close. Today, a tugboat came and finally towed her away, I imagine to finally be repaired.
  9. We are on the last full day of our cruise from Amsterdam to Basel. We are docked in Breisich and will not be going to Basel by boat. They will take us by bus tomorrow. The water level is too high to make it safely under the low bridges. The new boarding passengers will be bussing from Basel to board the boat to Amsterdam.
  10. We are practically right behind you out of Amsterdam on June 2. Keep posting updates.
  11. Bradpole, Thanks for your review, ideas and insight. I found it interesting and valuable and your pictures are fabulous. Can't wait for our trip starting on June 18th.
  12. Thank you for this advice. I did book this tour through Viator. Looking forward to it. Although our third time in Venice, we have never done this.
  13. Your review is priceless. Thanks for the insightful comments and tips.
  14. Notamermaid, Thank you for you ongoing comments. We board our cruise in Amsterdam on June 2 and are hoping for some mild weather. It has been a long winter for us.
  15. We are boarding in Venice on June 18 after spending almost a month traveling around Europe. I am very interested in hearing your thoughts. Thanks for writing.
  16. I think you may have to forego your running while on the Nile, just not practical. The hotels in Cairo have very nice gyms.
  17. Thank you all for your great advice. When we sail in June we will do bike riding, hike, Heidelberg, Colmar, Strasbourg and Speyer. Will heed advice and book bike and other alternate tours upon boarding.
  18. Hi travel nut. Which cruise are you on? We are boarding in Amsterdam on June 2nd. We are thinking Heidelberg, the bike ride. Colmar, Strausberg and the hike. That's all so far.
  19. Is there anyplace where you can actually sit outside, weather permitting? Nice that there is a covered area but sometimes like to be out in the fresh, open air.
  20. Thank you notamermaid for keeping us up to date. We are sailing with Uniworld, Amsterdam to Basel in very early June. I am hopeful that all will still be well at that time. Will keep checking
  21. Thanks for taking us along. we found this to be a fascinating and rewarding trip. We had Nile River view rooms at the 4 Seasons on both ends. Uniworld does it right! loved the guides, always felt safe and...well fed.
