When we did the Kayak tour - there were no backs to the seats - my body didn't appreciate that. I'd rather snorkel!

Papeete and Raiatea - only docks. We were on the Spirit a couple of months ago. Taking the tenders was pretty painless - much better than having to tender on a huge cruise ship. The tenders ran constantly - when needed.

Oh darn - we are there November 15 and 25. Looks like a nice tour.

Check with Albert's - https://albert-transport.net/ When we stayed on Moorea for a couple of days, someone from Albert's met us at the ferry - and took us to the car rental place. Most of their rental cars - you need to drive a stick. Moorea is very easy to drive.

I had an incidental finding of a meningioma tumor 3 years ago. Even though, I was not having headaches, seizures, etc - I wanted the surgery to get it over with! I know a lot depends on where the tumor is located. Mine was in the area of the brain that involves language/reading/ comprehension. I thought great - a retired teacher that can't read or write. I had surgery in the midst of Covid. I was in the hospital 3 days. Some may find it hard to believe, but I had absolutely no pain. I didn't look too cute with half my head shaved and 13 staples. Friends that had knee replacements had more pain and recovery issues than I did. I was told - no driving for 30 days - and had prescription for seizures. I get an MRI once a year - and call it good. It was scary - but absolutely no after issues. I have since met people that did PT or OT - post surgery - and now they are doing great! I would have been ready to travel as soon as the staples were removed! Hoping the best for your wife!

I haven't cruised with this line - but it has intrigued me and I've done some research. Aranui . . . . I have spent time on various islands, and will be on Windstar Spirit in a few months. Aranui may be next.

Did you book your excursion through the cruise line? (which ship were you on?) - or were some independent? I'm having a hard time with Raiatea and Fakarava . . . . booking independent. We are also staying at the Hilton in Papeete . . . . were there place to eat across the street? Food trucks nearby? Thanks for the great review . . .

Marinaro44 - I agree OBC should be able to be used when booking excursions online. You can also use Royal, Celebrity, Azamara, and Oceania OBC to book online ahead of your cruise. Silly me - I thought maybe I needed to do it via phone call. Person was kind of rude. Nope - I told them I would do my best to book everything independent. He told me to 'have a nice day'. Kicker - an excursion I tried to book - normally is $75. I can't, due to the deal they have with Windstar. To book via Windstar - for the same excursion - $179. Learning something new . . . .

I'm on a long enough cruise that already includes laundry, otherwise, that would be a good use of OBC. I agree, Marinaro44 - on other cruise lines - you can use OBC for excursions. (& gratuities) If you don't have quite enough OBC to cover then it can be partially paid for by credit card. Hopefully, there will be a after cruise survey.

After research - I now know that I can't use my OBC for gratuities. Trying to book some excursions. But it doesn't allow me to use OBC to book Windstar Excursions online. So I talked with a Windstar person - thinking I could book via a phone call - nope. I asked what can I use OBC for? Spa or Store. He didn't mention it, but I assume booze. He suggested I wait until I get onboard to book my excursion - but he cautioned - the one(s) I want might be sold out. I will now do my best to book all independent excursions - and drink my sorrows away.

Not sure where you are staying - but I would go visit the food trucks (Roulotte) for dinner!

I called with this problem a couple of days ago. They updated a few things for me. He said they know there is a glitch from their end. He also said - it will still say 'incomplete' - but it ignore it.
