Royal Caribbean Cocktail Recipes
SilkySal replied to PG_Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Aaaargh! That's for me! Sounds delicious! -
We very rarely, if ever, venture into the WJ. We have not yet cruised on Icon but will next year and looking forward to it! When the specialty restaurants had a sale, I booked us reservations for Hooked on boarding day. I also upgraded our cabin to a full suite (surprising DH) and plan to eat most, if not all, of our meals in Coastal Kitchen. I apologize for bragging but I am so darn excited! Hope you have a wonderful cruise on Icon and hope you do a review to let us all know how it went! Cheers!

Found this for you: Just noticed that you posted on this site. Is this one not the correct cruise?

I have used both of those companies and found that they both have excellent service and similarly priced. A scooter will be waiting in our accessible stateroom when we arrive in Vancouver in September, and we have reserved wheelchair assistance to/from airports to terminal and onto ship! The company allowed me to reserve the scooter in Vancouver and then they will pick it up when the ship ends up in Tampa, FL!! Perfect! Reservations easily made! Happy cruising and cheers to all!

First Time on Royal (Adventure of the Seas)
SilkySal replied to pfanny37's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Many years ago (we're in 70's now), American-Hawaii was our first cruise line (no longer called that now), then Princess, then NCL, and finally Royal. We found Royal's line to be a perfect fit for us, mostly because of the excellent service and ability to resolve issues, big or small, and a much better loyalty program. We expanded our cruise experience to Royal's sister line, Celebrity last year to Hawaii again, and absolutely loved it as well, especially the World Class bar. We have a total of 18 more cruises booked through April, 2026, the majority will be on Royal and a couple are back on a different Celebrity Ship, the brand new one not even out yet, Celebrity Xcel, and we can't hardly wait! Since we are getting older and don't really like flying anymore, we now cruise mostly for the ships, not the itineraries, and Royal has always been very good to us, so we will probably continue to be loyal to the Royal line. Personal preference and blessed to be able to continue cruising, for now anyway! Happy cruising and cheers to all! -
Can't Book My Time Dining for February???
SilkySal replied to yogimax's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We cannot reserve MTD for our February cruise on Utopia but was able to reserve it for the Serenade the week after. Checking on it daily to get our desired dinner time! -

Not sure if you misunderstood but the Adventure is a Voyager class ship (mid-size), not Oasis class. Or, maybe I misunderstood you. Cheers! -

Balcony room for 3 on Oasis class ships
SilkySal replied to RWMike's topic in Royal Caribbean International
BTW, we really enjoy the Oasis and will be on her in September and November, 2025, and again in February, 2026 to celebrate our birthdays! We agreed to book a full suite for our birthdays to celebrate in style! Woot! Woot! We're getting up there in age and ya can't take it with ya! Hope you enjoy cruising as much as we do! Cheers friends! -
Balcony room for 3 on Oasis class ships
SilkySal replied to RWMike's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Personally, IDK, but maybe someone else can answer that. I did enjoy the extra space in the room though and we were able to dine in Coastal Kitchen for dinner most evenings, which depends on availability, since full suites are accommodated first. If you get the JS, be sure to make your dinner reservation as soon as you board. The bathtub in the bathroom was nice because I am a big gal at 280# and I absolutely hate those small tube showers in the regular rooms! If I dropped the soap, I had to open the doors to pick it up! For big people, it's only a turn around shower, no stooping or bending over. Wish I could be of more help! -

Another option would be to get a Junior Suite for the 3 of you, which is a bit larger than a standard balcony with a nice big shower and a bathtub. Also, if you stay in a Jr suite, you will have dinner access to the specialty restaurant for suites, Coastal Kitchen (reservations needed), as well as 2x/day room cleaning. Again, good luck in your planning! https://www.google.com/search?q=oasis+of+the+seas+cabin+for+3+people&oq=oasis+of+the+seas+cabin+for+3+people&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOdIBCjI0OTM3ajBqMTWoAgiwAgE&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:9970baa7,vid:AX8nXvliSOw,st:0 Or, here is a "spacious" ocean view balcony (a bit cheaper than JS): https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=1de0a4ee025c56b1&sca_upv=1&tbm=vid&sxsrf=ADLYWIJiOBsb4sp7vWJidy721VP-jGLVMg:1720548709644&q=oasis+of+the+seas+cabin+for+3+people&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwihwqC1x5qHAxXrC3kGHaSCB9IQ8ccDegQIBBAH&biw=1366&bih=566&dpr=1#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:78198dba,vid:ZrjmxMJJMR8,st:0 -

Maybe you can get a balcony cabin and an inside cabin across the hall for your adult son, which would give you a 2nd bathroom. Or maybe he could invite a friend to share the cabin to cut expenses. If not that, @MommaBear55 above has a good alternative of splitting the beds in the bedroom and alternating sleeping on that hard couch (I also have heard they are very uncomfortable). Nonetheless, whatever you decide, hope you have a wonderful cruise vacation! Cheers! -
Just off Independence of the Seas ....
SilkySal replied to mkrr1123's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks for your comments! However, I feel so sorry for your daughter's distress! You might think about letting the folks at Royal know about what happened (mbayley@rccl.com). No ranting, just facts, as they need to be aware of your circumstances to, hopefully, correct future ones. Hope you continue to enjoy cruising! -
After looking at the deck plans, I personally would choose #8606 to be closer to the aft elevators, as our most visited areas are located in the aft including the main dining rooms.. They are both connecting cabins, which I don't necessarily like in case you have noisy neighbors. Either deck would be perfectly fine though! https://www.royalcaribbean.com/cruise-ships/independence-of-the-seas/deck-plans/2268/08 Happy cruising!!

First Time on Royal (Adventure of the Seas)
SilkySal replied to pfanny37's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We're doing a B2B on her this year for NYE and the week after. Will we see you then maybe? Yep, we're both doing ok with occasional aches/pains. I literally died last January due to blood clots in both lungs; spent 5 days in hospital; clots gone (hopefully), so can quit the blood thinner next January. We decided to up our cruises and go as much as we can, whenever we can, until we can't. I have never had blood clots and I actually think they developed due to either having Covid or receiving the Covid vaccines 4x, which I will never take again! Do your research before taking those shots and talk to several medical professionals about the risks! Cruising Grandma (Kay) had some serious medical issues as well but is currently doing fine and she has a couple of cruises booked (Utopia and Freedom). Looking forward to cruising again with her! She's a hoot! Hope you and yours doing well too! Take care! Cheers my friend! -
Royal Caribbean Cocktail Recipes
SilkySal replied to PG_Cruiser's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thanks for all of this info @PG_Cruiser!! Maybe you should consider making a recipe book based on a particular ship's special cocktail offerings. I would be very interested in buying one for the Oasis class ships and the Icon! Cheers!
