  1. Thanks all. Like I said in my OP, I already watched videos on YouTube, it happens, some of them are 2 you posted.......
  2. We have the opportunity to upgrade from our balcony on deck 8 near aft, to a mini suite, somewhere. LOL. Is it worth $300? (that is what I would bid) The youtube videos make it look like the room is marginally larger. Are there other perks that go with a suite?
  3. I am on that cruise. Booked a balcony room for $417 a person a few weeks ago.......
  4. We cruising on the Sun to the Bahamas for Spring Break. Looking at booking a shore excursion in Nassau "Blue Lagoon Island Beach Day" through NCL. Has anyone done this excursion? Does NCL limit your time on the island? The excursion details state 5hrs, but what if we wanted to stay longer? We are in port from 8am-5pm, excursion says it starts at 8:30am. What if we wanted to stay until 3pm or 4pm then head back to the ship? I can purchase the excursion from other companies, but like the idea of using NCL, unless they are going to limit our time.
  5. We are considering getting a day pass for our March 25th visit to the Bahamas. Is the pool heated? I have heard the ocean will be fairly cold in March, and the girls will want to swim. It was suggest we get a day pass to a resort. https://www.resortforaday.com/lighthouse-pointe-at-grand-lucayan/#2020-03-25 Thoughts?
  6. I think we've decided to book the Sun for Spring Break, last minute gig. Anything special we should know about NCL, The Sun, rooms, etc? We have only been on Carnival cruises........ Sail away balcony? Price isn't bad......... Oceanview?
  7. THANK YOU. We have only ever been on Carnival cruises, so am curious to try out a different cruise line. I like the intinerary better on the Sun. Is there enough to do for 2 adults and a 16yr old on the smaller ship? What about room sizes? How do they compare? Both Oceanviews.......
  8. Carnival Sunshine NCL Sun Carnival Liberty We think we may try and score a cheap cruise for Spring Break this year. If we can find something cheap, we will book it, if not, we may just drive to Destin for the week. Very flexible. Going to monitor the prices for a few weeks and pick something. The reviews for all 3 ships are ALL OVER the place. Most of the terrible reviews are from either people that had a certain event or from people who just seem grumpy all the time. I was really hoping to find a 50/50 mix of reviews, but it seems most are negative for all 3 ships..... I am making a pro/con spreadsheet for all 3 cruises. Anyone help me out here with some experinces? The room doesn't matter, just looking to get away. We won't spend any time in the room anyway. I priced everything for an Oceanview. All 3 are to the Bahamas. Ports are also really not that important, we just plan on hitting the beach every stop anyway.
  9. That is pretty much where we are. IF we score one, great, if not, we won't be upset. We are going to to spend a few days on the beach, so really, ship, cabin, etc, doesn't even matter. We just want to have a little road trip/family time/beach get away..... Thank you everyone for the advice!! We are also looking at ALL cruise lines, the dates are the important part. We are not "cruise line loyal." Whatever works best.
  10. Looking to possibly book the Sun out of Port Canaveral on March 23rd for a last minute Spring Break cruise. If we can score it, awesome, if not, no biggy. When is the best time to purchase? At the very last minute? 90 days before (now)? When do they drop the price the most?
  11. Thank you for the detailed reply! After researching and reading a ton of reviews, I actually decided to rent a UTV from Roadrunner ATV Rentals. I chatted back and forth with them about maps/difficulty, etc, making the trip. They where very confident I would have no problem in an ATV making the trip. I rented the UTV for a full 8hrs so we can take our time. Going to start the trip at 9am, so hopefully we can make it there well before the big crowds.....
  12. Thank you for the reply. I booked the Jr. Suite. This concerns me a little, the wife does get motion sickness. Wondering if I should have cooked the aft balcony now.
  13. Looking for people who have actually been in these rooms, not just opinions please. I have my own opinion..... 3 cruisers, basically 3 adults, the old farts (wife and I) and our 17yr old daughter. We understand it is a port heavy itinerary, so the room is less important, but still want to get the best room for us. Aft balcony - larger balcony, small'ish room, Pullman Bed. Is this enough room for 3 adults? I can see the Pullman Bed being an issue. 2 adults and this room is perfect, but add a grumpy, hormonal 17 year old girl and things get crazy fast. Jr. Suite - larger room, sleeper sofa, but it looks like the balcony is small and cramped. Yes we will spend time on the balcony. Basically if I am in the room, I am either sleeping or on the balcony waiting for the girls to get ready. (story of my life) I also understand the suites have a FTTF type VIP service built in, which is a plus. Then maybe even the grand daddy of them all, Grand Suite Extended Balcony?? Basically, this would be the cheapest we are ever going to see a suite on a cruise. I don't mind the cost, but is it actually worth it?
