  1. When we on the Explorer this past January most of the machines had paper pay out.

We sailed on EOS in November and I think they changed to the TITO method (ticket in - ticket out) while in port at Bermuda. I remember an announcement being made about it as we were docking.

No matter, WE LOVED THE EOS! It was our first cruise and we couldn't have been happier. Almost every day we say to each other "I miss the boat" or when we're feeling blue we simply say "boat" and smile. Looking forward to next year for our 5th anniversary cruise.

  2. We were there in November and there was sea glass everywhere! Another post mentioned how you could hear the 'tinkling' of the glass every time the water rolled in to the shore. It reminded me of the sound a wind chime makes and I found it to be quite soothing. We collected lots of sea glass and have it on display in our home in a vase with river rocks. I sometimes display fresh cut flowers in the vase and the water looks so nice with the rocks & glass. We also liked how secluded the beach was, no touristy type stuff, just a nice quiet place to collect sea glass and stare at the ocean. We're looking forward to going back next year to get some more.

  3. One more thing I've just thought about formal/informal photos - if you're on a ship where they put the photos out for you to look at. Once you have had more than one set of photos taken' date=' find the first lot and "hide" them behind the second. Then take that pile the next night and put them behind the third set ... and so on and so on.

You will find that the staff will keep the pile together and so by the end of the cruise you just have to find your one big pile of photos. Much easier to go through them and discard the ones you don't want.

So many people think that if they don't buy photos on the first night, they will get thrown away. They don't. So don't feel pressured into buying the first nice photo you see - there may be a better one later on.[/quote']

This worked out beautifully for us. We'll be sure to do this on every cruise. We noticed several people frantically searching for all of their pics on the last night or so. It was also kind of fun searching for our pile of pics, like a mini scavanger hunt.:)

  4. Here's my $.02:

    We wished we had:

    -Brought binoculars

    -Brought walkie talkies

    -Brought more cash

-Known how inexpensive cigarettes would be (compared to here in Philly)

-Remembered we could use our phones as a camera. We were so worried about roaming charges that we turned off our phones and left them in the cabin the whole trip (DOH!)

    So glad we remembered:

-a highlighter to help plan out our activities to make the most of our onboard time

    -a stash of pain medication

    -our own conditioner

-a small manicure kit and sewing kit

  5. I have 4 pair now. Started with the cork sandal, then the wedge, then another pair of the cork sandals as mine were 3 years old, and now just bought the dressier sandal with the snap trades for this cruise. They are ALL very comfy!!! Highly recommend for travel!

Those are adorable! What a clever idea for travel. I think I may just have to get some soon.

  6. Smokers, nobody has mentioned this. Bring a small portable ashtray if you want to smoke on your balcony. There is nothing provided for butts and ashes and it's not nice to leave a mess for the steward to clean up.

(Militant non-smokers: please just don't reply...we've heard it all before.)

    Good to know, thanks.
