Ship self-serve laundry -- quarters or tokens?
GateGuardian replied to Mississippian's topic in Princess Cruises
It's all tokens now. They havn't installed the coin insert thingy on the washers/dryers on the Discovery Princess yet, so it's currently free. -
Didn't know I had to cash out of casino?
GateGuardian replied to kimkencruzers's topic in Princess Cruises
I got mine's back 3 months later. I think it's automatic. It just takes a very long time to get it processed. -
Juice Bar - Smoothies (recent and current cruisers)
GateGuardian replied to Wishing on a star's topic in Princess Cruises
Just got off the Discovery and while I liked the juice bar, it was my favorite. They premade all the ingredients so no blending is required. What you get is less waiting in line but waterdowned juices. On the Enchanted, they premeasure all the ingredients but they juice it in front of you, which I found tasted much better. -
Just got off the Discovery Princess. Same speed as everyone else. About 3-4M down and 1M up with about 120ms ping. Did a bunch of video conference calls on Teams with screensharing and it wasn't an issue at all. Not sure if it was compression rate on Teams or the QoS on Princess's network prioritizes video calling but it worked well (not perfected, but doable).

Encore Alaska Inside Passage WiFi Question please
GateGuardian replied to Salf777's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I did this cruise in May 2022. Not close enough to pick up signal. The internet was fine for checking emails. I tried an audio conference call and was too laggy for it to work. -
Acceptable layover times for flights
GateGuardian replied to gailellen12's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
75min is legal connection time for international flight at CDG on paper. In reality, it is a flip of a coin. It can take up to anywhere from 30min to 2-3hrs to get through exit customs leaving EU. If you have SkyPriority, there is a separate line that helps things go a bit faster, but again, it is a crapshoot. I fly Delta and Air France a lot for my Europe trips and that is my experience. Also, I'm surprised they max out at 5hr connection time. I've booked on 8-10hr connections without issues, which gives me an opportunity to grab a bite in Paris. -
I have a Canadian Amex and use their Amex offers all the time. The credit triggers base on whatever the credit card statement is regardless of what you're paying to NCL. So at long as you're paying that $1000CAD or more to NCL, it will trigger the credit.

I never understand why we need to tag at the port. VV should just provide luggage tags so we can pre-print them at home if we want to. tip the porter and leave instead of waiting around for them to tag the luggage.

I just booked a cruise on the Scarlet Lady for next week and notice they don't have any PRIDE/LGBTQ+ meetups. It is hard meeting other gay people? I usually rely on these meetups as my gaydar is kinda broken. LOL

I did the TA last March on the Regal Princess. I had a good time, though the internet was unusable. Going in April on the Regal again for the TA.

ArriveCAN Nightmare & Random Testing
GateGuardian replied to realnice46's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Just to add, the chances of Chances of getting randomly selected now is rare now with the cases gone back down. It was bit different a few months back. However, if you do get selected, none of the previous tests matters. Also, they're suppose to give you a kit if you get randomly selected or if they're no testing available on site. I travel a few times a month back and forth between US and CAN and have never been randomly selected for testing. -
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I have cruise coming up and was not offered a MoveUp. I emailed the moveup specific email and have not gotten a response. Can anyone share their experience how much they paid to upgrade onboard from an Oceanview to a verandah on a 7 day cruise? Also, does status matter? Thanks
-
Well it's already past 30 days, so I guess Celebrity is the only route.

I bought a cruise later certificate on my last cruise. I noticed that instead of providing a certificate, it's just a reservation 17yrs in the future. So my question is, if I want to book a cruise with this certificate, do I have to book through Celebrity or can it be with a TA? Will the TA get credit if I book through them? Thanks!

LGBT or Friends of Dorothy Meet up on Solstice to Alaska
GateGuardian replied to ScottC4746's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Talk to customer service. If enough people ask about it they will re-arrange the time. It's usually at the Martini Bar or World bar and it's always packed anyways, so it's pretty hard to meeting people there regardless of the time. -
This was taken on the second sailing (July 2nd). I didn't experience any room hiccups besides the slow service. It was a 2hr dinner service every nice, even eating solo. They also went down to smaller drinking glasses as the days progresses and was out of Pina Colada mix by Day 6.

$500 Flight Credit....lots of questions
GateGuardian replied to Mr. Click's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Is it a $500 credit? I thought it was just a sale that you can save up to $500? I checked for my cruise in September and it looks like it's just a small discount on economy flights.
