You may run into a roadblock from the big box store. I tried that once and the rep. refused to let me transfer. I haven't even considered booking with them since.
If you're planning on using the big box store, just book with them direct...less hassle.
Keep in mind that the big box stores don't provide any service once you're booked and charge $$ to make changes.
I've dealt with the BB before, and have had great service, they even refared after final payment.

Why not book directly with the Big Box???
I have a private offer with Princess that I don't see where to put the code in. Maybe I'll just call BB and see.

I'm sure you all can help me. I want to book a Princess cruise for January, Panama Canal. I plan on calling princess directly, then transferring to a big box. I'm not quite sure how to do that, tho.
Help?
Thanks,

I like both HAL and Princess, but I prefer Princess. I like their public spaces better. On the Crown specifically I like the Skywalkers Nightclub.
Do read The Path Between The Seas by David McCullough whichever ship you choose.
I defintely will!! Thanks for the recommendation!

The princess cruise that you are looking at is in a club class cabin. The Club Class dining would be nice.
Yes, and we've never done a cruise in anything above a "regular" mini-suite. Why is this such a hard decision?? Probably because either way it's going to be a great trip.

Personally, I adore the Eurodam and that would be my choice. That said, I’m at the point that I’d sign up for a Panama Canal cruise with a dodgy street vendor in a leaky rowboat if I knew it was a go!
Me too.... For now, I'm just obsessively planning. Things have to ease up by January, right???🤞

There is one other point that hasn't been addressed here: That is the transit through the locks. Eurodam will pass through the old/original locks. The Crown Princess will use the new locks. Both will then loiter in Gatun Lake and offer excursions. So you might do some research about the difference in the locks, and decide which itinerary you prefer. EM
Thank you.... I didn't know that. The old locks may seal the deal for my husband.

As on your thread on the Princess board, noone has addressed the fact that these are both partial transits, but through different locks. Eurodam will transit through the old/original locks, while
Crown is too large for the original locks and will use the new locks. Other than that, the process is the same. EM
This right here may make the decision. My husband is the history buff in the family, and I'm sure he'd rather do the original locks. I'll have to check with him.... Thank you!!!

Oh yea Eurodam was known as the "foodie" ship in the HAL fleet before the pandemic if that helps your decision. I will be on her with my brother in May 2022 for Alaska, pandemic willing.

That's definitely a plus in my book!

I prefer Princess, but I've done two HAL cruises on the Zuiderdam. I would sail HAL again for the right price and/or itinerary. Personally, I like the additional stops on HAL. If the price is close, I'd pick Eurodam.
Thank you. I like those two stops as well, especially over Jamaica.

Suggest you view the thread, " How does Princess Compare To HAL." Started Jan. 16 by coffeeluvr05. Sorry I don't know how to link that, but I found it on page three just now. Hope this helps!
Thanks, I will.

Hi. I'll be posting this same question on the HAL board, hopefully that's okay. I am so missing my cruise this year, hoping to do Panama Canal next January (1/22) Anyway, it's between Crown Princess with additional stops in Jamaica and Grand Turk in a club class mini suite vs. The Eurodam with additional stops at Aruba and Curacao in a SS. Eurodam has an extra day, as well.
I don't know why, I just can't choose! I've been on both lines before, but not those ships.
Any help??
Thanks 🙂

Hi All. I've been on two previous HAL ships, the Westerdam and Nieuw Statendam. I'm looking at the Eurodam next year, and the Signature Suite's description is 273-456 sf. My question is, how do you tell where the larger cabins are? Obviously I prefer larger 🙂 If not, I may spend the extra and go to the Neptune, which would be my first real suite.
Help me decide what to do 🙂 and if it helps, I'm looking at the Panama Canal Sunfarer.

I’m just starting to research this cruise, we've never done anything except the usual Caribbean. Any help and info would be much appreciated. Is it worth it to just do a partial transit? I’m looking at a vista suite, which is aft. Is that a good place to be?
Thanks for any help/comments/thoughts 😊

Hmmmm maybe we'll look into the champagne dinner then. We’ve done the chefs table a few times, but this menu doesn’t really thrill me. Think I’d rather spend my OBC at Murano with a nice bottle of wine. Or a massage 😊
-
Thanks you. I understand the whole pairing thing, but I prefer to drink what I like.

Has anyone recently done a chef's table on the Reflection? Two questions....First, what is the menu, and second, is it really possible to use your drink package for the wine? I'd like to prebook it for our January cruise, but not if I can't include my included wine.
Thanks,
MA

Thank you so much!! I got a little worried that my "upgrade" was going to be really expensive!!

Sorry, I didn't pay attention when this all came about a while ago, since I had already booked w/basic alcohol pkg. Now that I have the four perks included, can someone tell me if this affects me? Is it an extra charge per day? Do I get grandfathered in since I booked a year ago (though just upgraded)? Anything else I need to know?
Thanks,
Mar

Thanks to this thread I called celebrity thIs afternoon. We booked our January reflection cruise under the Martin Luther king sale with two perks. I’ve been watching ever since then and haven’t seen a better deal. I asked the person who answered if there was anything I could do even though I’m past final payment. Long story short, for just over $200 I have an extra $100 OBC, beverage package upgrade, tips and internet.
I guess it it never hurts to call 😊

How do you get these emails? I have an upcoming cruise and I'd love to see about upgrading, but my mailbox is empty 😞
-
Can anyone tell me the value of the internet package? I'm trying to price it out to see if it's a better deal for me to stick with what I have. I know what the tips would be, and the upgrade to premium would be $10 pp pd plus the tip (15 or 20%?) which we plan to do any way. The big ? is the internet, which we have never had, and I'm sure dh would love to be able to be in touch with his company and ailing mom. Thanks in advance 🙂

Beware of the FlexSafe... I had one and loaned it to a family member. Their grandson was fooling with it and changed the combination (he was 3 at the time) and nobody knew what he changed it to. I tried the company, and there was no way to reset the combination. But they gave me some kind of discount to buy another one..... No thanks

Has anyone stayed here recently? Ive seen it suggested, but the reviews are really mixed. I'm thinking 3 nights pre-cruise in early January. If not here, then where?
Thank you so much for your help.
