It will, but it'll take years to become a normal pay dining experience. The bad taste left in the mouths of dedicated Princess cruisers who are saddened by the change.

I'm still disappointed by the elimination of the BOGO coupons in Sabatini's.

Personally wish they would end this idea and go back to make it included. Quote the cruise accordingly and stop the new extra charges.

Yes…80% of those RCI surveyed opposed charging for Sorrento’s pizza.

If you believe the Princess rhetoric their survey said passengers prefer to pay to shorten lines. I have about 100 days on Royal-class ships & eat at Alfredo’s/Gigi’s regularly but have never waited more than 5 minutes even during the noontime rush.

Princess made Alfredo’s/Gigi’s fee based not due to passenger preferences but to generate more income and to sell more packages which will never be cost effective for me.

Hard to believe they added a price to Alfredo because their passengers wanted that to shorten lines. If anyone believes that nonsense I do have a bridge for sale.

Staffing is back to pre-pandemic levels as of recent.  The problem is that there are a lot of newbies on their first contract and do their jobs as if their heads were cut off.  Many need more training.  Crew with more seniority have expressed that crew are being promoted to quickly without having as much experience or know how as compared to pre-pandemic.  The OceanNow delivery waiters look "lost" sometimes because they are trying to match a picture to face to deliver food/drink.

Island Princess had lots of new crew lasst month. Waitstaff we had in DR was excellent but Horizon court we thought crew members wandered aimlessly walking around not looking at passengers or tables to see if they needed anything. Mentioned this to two of the most hardworking supervisors we have seen and that is what they are facing now.

I am currently on Regal  Princess and the story is the same - Alfredo’s is mostly empty!!

    What is management’s game??!!

Nickel and diming as much as they can until we revolt.

I’m old, too, but obsessed with high quality body wash.  I hate that the bar of soap travels all over your body, then sits in a goopy mess until you pick it up to use the next time you shower.  I like new, unused body wash each and every time.  There are some wonderful ones out there!  Pricey, but worth every penny.

It is my goopy mess that I have been using my entire life but looks like we need to bring our own bar.

I mean...yeah! Some of the best meals I've ever had are in NYC hole-in-the-walls.  Ironically that's kind of a high bar!

Italian food taste better when Italians using old world recipes are doing the cooking. Chains not on the same level.

I am rehabbing a hip injury and can't walk very far wearing anything other than tennis shoes/trainers/sneakers without aggravating it. We leave July 14 on Crown to Alaska. Will there be an issue if I wear athletic footwear to the MDR for dinner? (Not trying to start a debate about proper dress, just want to make sure I'm prepared).

Nobody will care not to worry.

Hello from  the Caribbean Princess. I will post more after our cruise as we are still  sailing… and perhaps Princess will make it right, but heres our experience and the reality.   I booked and prepaid reservations months in advance for Sabatinis, tsble fir four.  Our earliest time was 7:20 .. ok. So looking forward to this highlight of our dining experience.  We checked in at 7:15 and was told there were delays, no tables available for 15-20 minute wait.  Ok we nodded and understood.. then 15 minutes we check in again and no tables had opened up and the manager Jorge was very apologetic and now said 60 minute wait …. Pushing to 8:30 perhaps??  We needed to cancel and retreat to our normal dining room.  We are so so disappointed.  So now we will try and figure out how we can get a refund.

Guess people kept their tables longer than expected. Sorry it happened to you.

We went to the one on Sky in March, food was no better than any neighborhood restaurant in NYC, was kind of disappointed. Service was excellent.

We sailed on Island once. The cruise just before that was on Coral. No comparison. On Island we kept "running out of ship" when we headed aft because they removed the Universe Lounge and everything that was aft and added a buttload of cabins. The gym (which we don't use) was moved downstairs to an area with no windows. There is no IC. Granted, the IC was an add on to Coral so it is a bit small but at least it's there. We have a favorite cabin on Coral that we've booked for canal transits twice but, due to the makeover on Island, it's no longer there. We couldn't walk all the way around the Promenade outside because, again, they had taken all the aft space and made it cabins. They removed a ton of public space and added a bunch more cabins. One and done for us unless my wife can convince me that Island is the only Princess ship that will get her to Iceland like she wants.

Other's love Island - especially if they have never cruised on Island before the bastardization of the ship and have never sailed on Coral which (other than the addition of IC to Coral) used to be the same. Those who don't know the difference likely will love Island.

Have heard these issues before and do have a concern as our first cruise on her is later this month. Booked it for the itinerary and will still enjoy the cruise even if the Island does not impress us.

Not that I know for sure, since we only cash out at the end of that particular trip, but I've read posts that said you can only cash out once.

You can cash out using chips from table games as you wish. No idea about how that works with slots.
