  1. Cruising is a fairly simple way to travel. I don't have to research and book lodgings in multiple cities. Neither do I have to think about where I'll eat (other than which onboard venue to enjoy that night.) It's all paid for before leaving home. I also ditto the reasons others have listed above.
  2. I am gaining weight just looking at your food pictures! Looks like a wonderful journey.
  3. Looks great! Interesting that the beds are so hard. We found the same thing in Russia. Ouch! Thanks for taking us along.
  4. Business class is the way to go on flights that long. Hopefully you can get some good rest enroute and arrive ready to roll.
  5. Enjoy the journey! I'll be following you along the way! We really liked the Diamond Princess when we sailed the Mexican Riviera some years ago.
  6. I use these, and they're great. (A store-bought version of what Krazy Kruizers made.) https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cruise-Luggage-Tag-4-pack-for-Carnival-Cruise-Lines-Costa-Holland-America-Norwegian-and-P-O-Port-Sea/930841609?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=10488&adid=22222222227161440428&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=273471606127&wl4=pla-455996349798&wl5=1026831&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=117097109&wl11=online&wl12=930841609&veh=sem
  7. It all depends on the weather. We've been in mid October and have seen stunning colors.
  8. We love the aft-facing staterooms on the Rotterdam. Especially the corner ones. There is no problem with people looking down on you that I have experienced. I believe we were on the navigation deck.
  9. The dhip will charge a premium, so if you can find a post office convenient in port that would be your best bet.
  10. Yes, the cookies celebrated half a million HAL passengers in Montreal. I just wish that we would have been told that. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/21361-montreal-to-mark-500-000th-passenger-from-holland-america-line.html
  11. Dear Curious People: EATEN!!! (And it was quite good.) 😋
  12. No. They gave it to us in the terminal after we had collected our luggage.
  13. As we departed Zaandam this morning we were given cookie pops commemorating 500,000 guests. Seems like there should be more.
  14. The first night's World Stage program was an introduction to the entire performing cast. we were told there would be two production shows this week, and we're very happy for that. The singers and dancers were very good. The violinist from Adagio is a little weak, but we enjoyed listening to them before dinner last night. Speaking of dinner, things went pretty well for night one. We have early fixed seating, and I was surprised at how relatively empty the upper dining room was. Still, the storage same to be rushing around trying to get everything done. (I had trout, and thought it was amazing.) Tonight will be the first off to Gala nights for this week. Additional posting for this cruise will depend on if I can find Wi-Fi somewhere. I'm not going to purchase an internet package this time, especially just for posting on social media. Okay, Bar Harbor, let's see what you have in store for us today!
