  1. I didn't know that. I haven't been on the Grand recently. Thanks for the info.
  2. If Roni is working he knows how to make the London Fog, most of them don't have a clue. You have to make sure they are using Earl Grey tea as they will just grab any flavour & not pay attention.
  3. Is that you Greg incognito? Arms are covered so it's hard to tell
  4. Is that Greg's tattooed arms and part of his face with the button from his monkey??? lol
  5. With your Plus package, you can pick up pretty tasty items at the International Cafe at no charge. It's usually beside the coffee bar. I have recently been on Discovery and the dining room menus for lunch are pretty boring I thought. There were a couple pub type places open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. More like bar food though.
  6. What part of Michigan do you live? If you could cross the border to Windsor, you can fly to Europe and back for about $1100.00 Canadian. It's usually Air Canada though. My son lives in France but I have flown to Italy also a couple times and it's still around the same price. There is usually one stop in Toronto or one in Montreal. Greg would not recommend Air Canada after what he's been through but I have never had any problems (yet)
  7. I live in Canada and was just on an Alaska cruise this past June. It was beautiful and I would visit again in a heart beat!
  8. I fly Air Canada every time I go to Europe. It is nothing like Spirit Airlines, All drinks, meals etc are included on Air Canada to Europe. Spirit nickles & dimes you for everything.
  9. Bon voyage! Can't wait to read your review. 42 days & I will be on Discovery Princess to Alaska 🙂
  10. They really don't make a lot of money for the hours they put in and usually send their pay check home. I was on a ship and the crew told us they buy what items they need on amazon and it is shipped to their home port like a post office. The ship I was on was home ported in St. Thomas. If you give them visa/cash gift cards they can buy what they need. Cash is great too as they can use it for bartering or crew store. I always ask if there is anything they need in port also. Most times they say nothing.
  11. The salad bar at lunch time & has many items to pick from. Balsamic Vinegarette is delicious but they have other dressings also. It's not like you have to put a ton of dressing I usually get a piece of grilled chicken in the buffet also. It's delicious. There are many items at the International Cafe too.
  12. Ambassador Bridge to Detroit, MI. They ask if we have been vaccinated every time we cross
  13. I live in a border city. Right now you can't legally cross into USA unless you are vaccinated.
  14. No water shoes required at the beach by Jack's Shack. Best Jerk chicken also. Strong drinks 🙂
  15. Not sure if you want to spend all your time at Maho, the beach is very tiny right now. I always book Jo Junie Tours, very reasonably priced and they take you all over the island. including Orient Beach He usually picks you up in an a/c bus just outside the port. Check out his website. The last stop is usually a couple hours at Maho Beach
  16. Bring snacks. They charge for everything on the plane. Iceland is very nice. Wish I spent more time there
  17. Yes I did. Went to Hawaii on The Grand. It was wonderful.
  18. You have to try this with Clamato juice instead of tomato. Ask them to add couple dashes of worstershire sauce, 3 or 4 dashes of tobasco, celery stalk, olives, pickles or anything else they have behind the bar. Bloody Ceasar. Delicious. It's Canadian but the last time I was on a cruise they had Clamato juice.
