drumming cruisers

I have been wondering too! We were thinking of going to AK on the Sun, but we sure like the Biss and Encore, not sure if we would like going back to a smaller ship. Is there enough to do at night and sea days if you don't hang out at the bars?

Was on Bliss last week. We arrived at port around 11:30. only hang up was security. Once we got past that, we checked in and boarded. 

Have a good time. Was very crowded on our cruise. had to make sure to get to all entertainment very early. 

Only one big issue and that was Cagney's. (which was one of our favorites, DH said never again!) Took 45 minutes to get bread and water after we sat down. Then another 30 minutes to have orders taken, and another 40 minutes to get meal. And filet mignon was terrible. Could hardly cut it with a steak knife. 

Did you call the port? Our luggage was missing, we contacted NCL and was told to call the port. It took them week, but it was found on a dock somewhere. (was in Seattle). They had it sent to via UPS. 

After last cruise we are now Diamond Latitude. Says we can get a free cabin upgrade. Can we go from a Club Balcony suite to a Haven suite? If not what can we upgrade to from a Club Balcony?

Love your reviews! Where is the bear with the fish statue? Have been to AK a few times and have never seen that. Is it close enough to cruise pier to walk to?

I know Bliss wasn't on your list, but it's our favorite. Then Encore, and Breakaway. 

We didn't like Joy, not exactly sure why, just a weird vibe. Crew was nice etc, 

Prayers for your mom. Hopefully a clean break and you can continue your cruise.

We took a Lyft from the hotel to the port, very quick except for the long wait to actually turn into the port itself. People were still coming off the ship, so the luggage drop area was pretty hectic. 

 

 

Security was perfunctory and quick, and check-in was as fast as I’ve ever had. Yay for being Platinum. 

 

 

It’s currently 11am and we’re sitting and reading the dailies while we await Group A to be called.

 

 

 

Random observations

Red is very excited about the free charm offer at the jewelry shop. 🤣

 

We met some lovely people at breakfast and look forward to hanging out with them on board. I think things might get a little crazy.

 

Lots more jerseys and footbally shirts spotted in the terminal. Hopefully people watching the game means empty hot tubs during sailaway?

Take a look at link. You should get a player's card in your cabin with a letter on how much OBC you get, and also the drink card attached.

We are booked on Bliss in February. Original booking was a balcony, travel protection for 2 of us was $90. Called NCL and upgraded to Haven 2 bedroom.

Travel protection went up to $798. Does that seem correct?

Was on Bliss in late August, a lady on our excursion told us was supposed to be Northern lights that night at 1:30 am. We went up on top deck and saw them, light green and wavy. Didn't show up very good in pictures.

@HBCcruiser Is American diner free / complimentary yet on Bliss? 

We have always asked for coffee maker, if one isn't already in cabin. Sometimes they are in the closet. Just ask for coffee, tea etc. if that is the case. 

Been upgraded twice and notified 2 days before sail date for each one. 

CDC announced a week or so ago, travelers to that area in Mexico are getting and some dying from Rocky Mountain Fever, a disease from ticks.
