  1. Black Sausage! I tried it in the breakfast buffet.

That garbage should just be used for strange religous rituals - keep it out of the breakfast buffet!

I literally had tears laughing at this! I would have to agree also.

I can't do pate, liver, tartar, or oysters. And eggs. I am willing to try most things at least once. But maybe not the black sausage.

  2. I did check google maps prior to posting, and even checked the street view. But was looking more for personal opinions.

Thank you all for the input. It certainly confirmed my thoughts. Ended up booking the Comfort Suites next door to the Cambria. A bit of a points savings, and just as good reviews.

Thanks again, and Happy New Year!

  3. I am looking to book one of the Choice Hotels brand properties in Dania March 14-16. The Cambria, and soon to open Comfort Suites on North Federal Hwy, and Hotel Morrison. While it looks like an up and coming area, is there much around for restaurants and a bit of shopping? We have enough points to stay for free, which makes these places attractive.

  4. We talked some "all inclusive" friends into joining us on our Caribbean cruise last spring, with the promise we would join them on their next all inclusive, which we have never done.

They went into it with the same mindset we had when we went to Alaska. Excited to be on vacation, but this will be a one time deal. Didn't take long till they were asking when we would be interested in going back to Alaska. We just decided today that we will do Panama in 2016, and they want to join us.

One thing that sold them was the quality of food and drink. They said it was amazing in comparison to resorts they had stayed at. She always has stomach issues when eating in new places, but never had an issue on the cruise, other than over indulging. They also enjoyed visiting many different places in one vacation. They said it has given them ideas of places they would like to return to for a land based vacation.

Needless to say, we have no plans for any all inclusives.

  5. There will be a card in their cabin when they first get there (or shortly thereafter) with informaion about calling to pick a day and time. The day cannot be selected in advance.

That's great thank you! I wanted it to be on a day that was convenient for them, not something preselected.

  6. Just have a quick question about purchasing the balcony breakfast as a gift. My good friend sets sail in a couple weeks, and I'm pretty bummed we won't be joining them. This is their first cruise and I'm considering the balcony breakfast as a gift. If I do this, do they get a card on the first day, with the option to pick which day they want to do this? Or do I choose when I purchase?

  7. We went with James Touring. James and Desiree were wonderful. We went to Anse La Reye, Canaries, Soufriere, and Marigot Bay. Made some photo stops along the way, visited the botanical gardens, and stopped at the beach. They are very knowledgeable of the area and fun to travel around with. Ask James to stop at the bread place in Canaries. It's a delicious snack.

If you could round up a few more from your cruise who would be interested in sharing your tour, it would defer the cost. James' van can hold a few, 10 people if I remember correctly.

  8. We had an awesome time at the Boatyard!! It was one of our favourite beaches. We used the jet skis and went way out,no trouble. Good food and drinks. Even the ship staff frequent the Boatyard, as we talked to a few of them on the beach as well.

  9. That definitely wouldn't work. When I'm on a cruise, I drink wine every day. My husband may have two or three beers over the course of a seven day cruise.

The only way a "drink package" will work fairly is to do it like the coffee card -- It's not unlimited, but you get "X" number of punches and then you're out. That would also help with Princess' liability in serving an unlimited amount of alcohol for idiots that feel like they have to overindulge in order to get their money's worth! That way, sharing wouldn't even matter.

This is my preference. Would love to see a cocktail punch card. I feel on a port intensive cruise, a traditional package doesn't seem worth it. On our last cruise, I only purchased 2 alcoholic beverages. I had the soda and more sticker, and got my money's worth out of it. But if I felt I was getting a bit of deal on cocktails, I would be more inclined to enjoy a few more.

  10. While I don't have the specific answers you're looking for, the Boatyard was recommended to us by a friend. We are looking for a place to hang out for the day, so I asked a friend who recently moved back to Canada after living in the Barbados for a few years. He said he, his wife, and little girl always had a great time there. I would like to hear some input from others too.

I picked up my own snorkel set at Costco for $40. The thoughts of putting my mouth on a used snorkel, and a mask that has been spit in, kinda squeaked me out a little. I know, they are cleaned, but with noro and everything else, I don't want to take the chance.

  11. Greek yogurt has become my new breakfast BFF. I'm not much of a breakfast eater, and one of the individual cups of the brand I buy has 8g of protein and is 3pts each. I also like the turkey pepperoni sticks at Costco, and they are 1pt per stick. Good paired with a WW jalapeño string cheese stick, also 1pt.

I am happy to report I made my 10% tonight! I am so excited and happy! Some days are easier than others, but I don't get discouraged, and get back on the wagon.

Keep up the good choices everyone! Have a great week!

  12. Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I checked in here way back at post# 720. I'm happy to report I am 26lbs down, and going strong!! The biggest thing for me was cleansing my home and office of foods that are poor choices. I don't buy it, I won't eat it. Over the holidays, I didn't do any baking whatsoever. I have such a sweet tooth and my DH does not, so I would have eaten it all. My newest task is keeping washed/chopped fruit and veggies in the fridge so I will make them my first choice when I need a snack.
  13. Hi everyone! A WW newbie here! Signed up and went to my first meeting on Wednesday.

I am allowed a fair amount of points, but I have a fair amount to lose! Still working on baby steps instead of big changes. I find when I go all radical making changes, it's too hard to stick with. I am looking for some snack ideas, other than fruit and veggies. That's one of my baby step changes as I was never a big fruit and veggie eater.
