  1. An interesting thought on testing... I had a rapid test last Friday. Got verbal results in 25 minutes.asked for a document to that effect, and was told I could it one as soon as the test was certified...5 to 7 days.. unless the cruise line controls the testing this could be an issue.
  2. Who is going to pay for all this testing. If you cruise several times a year and are required to test before each cruise, even if you don’t have symptoms ,will insurance pay for it? Here in nc you need symptoms to be tested at most places. If you don’t have symptoms you must go to an independent medical facility. The cost can be as high as 250 per test. I have read posts that the testing is free. If you live in Nc it is free for people without insurance, but if you have insurance , you company is billed.
  3. My concern is more about the testing prior to the cruise and what my insurance will pay for.....we take at least 3 to 4 cruises a year ( normal year). If I need a test prior to each cruise....will my insurance pay for it? Here in NC , they usually require symptoms before testing....you can find some independent medical facilities that will test you without symptoms.....they cost...I have heard it can be up to 250 per test.....this could get expensive....
  4. This is what I don’t understand.....we did our lift and shift to a different boat....with a different itinerary. Maybe it is the customer service agent....he gave us three choices.....different prices, different dates, etc.
  5. I think Dragonfly said is best. It’s the stress of not knowing. We lifted and shifted, not because we didn’t want to cruise sooner.... but we were afraid the line would cancel after all our plans were made. The stress of remaking plans and recovering monies spent is Daunting. Celebrity is trying to do the best they can, but I don’t feel they are responsive to their customers. We are 50 year plus cruisers and the stress of cruising now is greater then anything we have ever seen.
  6. We were on the cruise right before you....celebrity has not cancelled yet......we found out that because we used FCC we could not get a refund....we lifted and shifted to next year even through we may not be able to go. ( age, health, etc.)....Celebrity would not give us any options...we went as far up the ladder as we could......
  7. I finally got in to my Infinity booking.........Celebrity already checked me in a gave me a boarding time of noon....thought that was strange.......I know the cruise will probably be a no go.......but celebrity has never issued me an express pass with out me checking in personally....everything including my passport number was right.....
  8. I can see the bookings but I can’t access the infinity one to make changes,,,,,I called and got the run around from the celebrity rep.....
  9. 2020...this is the 4th cancellation for us..... wish Celebrity would think a little more about their cruisers.....it’s getting to be to complicated to figure a booking right now....even had one 2021 cruise cancelled....
  10. You are probably right....Celebrity rep told me it was still a go.......but would not tell me why I can’t get into my reservation.....we would just like to know to make other plans....
  11. You are probably right.......sorry about the double post.....I am trying to be optimistic on a November sailing.....they may be taking her out of service....I think she is still in Europe....
  12. Is something going on with the Infinity.....Celebrity cancelled the Nov. 16 cruise.....we have a cruise on her Nov 30......You can still book that cruise....but on the downloaded website it said the Infinity is not supported at this time......I cannot get into my reservation....even through Captains Club......when I called I got a vague answer .....but no information.....Any ideas?

  14. I think we will have to wait two weeks to see if any passengers or crew come down with COVID....that is if they get tested.....I read on one CDC comment from a medical professional....that a required test after passengers return is the only true test of cruise ship spread... they would have to see a cluster with like dining.....group activities...etc. that would assume that passengers were tested pre cruise....and all tested negative.
  15. I agree we have to see...but I think we are seeing what it might be like reading the reviews from Europe.....there has been a number of responses on Apple News...all I have read have not been good...one cruiser stated that it was a little like being in isolation....as almost all interaction between crew and passengers was very brief.....we have a few scheduled cruises in nov. 2020. (Not).....and late 2021.....hoping for the best
