We finally had rain!! 10:30 last night a massive thunderstorm rolled thru. I sat in my window seat for an hour & a half watching the show. We got over 3” of rain in just that time period, it was great!! Supposed to rain most of the day today too

Laurie, love, love that log green dress, & the jumpsuit! The salmon/coral short dress is really pretty also.
I was so excited today when a black/taupe/white kimono style jacket arrived, until I tried it on. I got a small & 4 of me could have fit into it! Then I started looking at it closely, the black on the sleeve had bled into the white, making it look muddy. Obviously, this is going back. I’m bummed. Melody

My parents frequently drink white port & tonic in the summer - because port is so much lower in alcohol than gin, it makes for a more 'drinkable' cocktail.
I’ve never tried that, not a huge port fan

Thanks Lois, the top is from Chicos. Their semi-annual sale is in its last weekend. Some amazing deals.
your cruise sounds so relaxing!

I cannot stand waiting after my appointment time because someone is running late! At least text me so I can adjust my schedule.
Supposed to maybe get some rain later today. I hope so. It's to freakin' dry everywhere.
After having my first gin & tonic at Jose Andres' restaurant in Vegas, I've been having some more here at home. I remember having one a long time ago and hating it, so I never tried before. I bought a little bottle of Hendrick's (the one used in Vegas) and Fever Tree tonic. Pretty refreshing in the evening when it's 82 degrees in the house. I read up on some other uses for tonic and came across one that uses white port instead of the gin. I did it last night and it was tasty.
OOTD: another hot one so just shorts and a Tshirt...
Try the FeverTree pink grapefruit. It makes a lovely Paloma

Lois, hope all turns out well
i only drink FeverTree diet tonic water & it makes a huge difference in taste in a Grey Goose (vodka) or Sapphire gin. I even bring it on board for cruises. I order a double shot of Grey Goose in a tall glass with ice & pour my own FeverTree diet tonic. Bartender told me on last cruise it was the best he’d ever had

I haven’t even looked at prime day today! Forgot all about it. We had 2” of rain yesterday (in 10 minutes, what a gully washer!). It’s raining lightly now. I’ll take it, first rain since early May!!!

Anita, so good to hear from you! I’m sad that your DS’s job is miserable. I’ll add you to my positive thinking list. Yay on son going to Georgia Tech for grad school!! Maybe DS could find a good job in ATL area (lots of opportunity there). Keep doing those aqua classes. I miss mine so much, but I can’t handle the chlorine, when I joined that gym it was a saltwater pool (which was great).
we’ve seriously discussed putting in a swim hot tub.
we had a fabulous time in Hawaii, but have as a group said next big family trip will be a cruise as it’s so much cheaper. Hawaii was great, but super duper expensive (especially food)

Lovely dress, starry night is a good term for it

Another triple digit day. We’re hiding inside with ac & ceiling fans & all window coverings closed. Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter.
we’re not getting moose or elk here, just big fat bears

Hi,
my daughter is going to print these in work for me but I can’t work out how to send them. Will she have to log into my account or is there a way I can email her a link. ThanksScreenshot the luggage tag & send that to her like you would a picture

I pack our dinner shirts with layer of cleaner plastic bag which helps keep them neat. I lay them flat in the bottom of the suitcase and wrap the excess length over the central packed items and it works quite well.
I do the same; however, I place the pressed shirts in the cleaner bag on top of everything in the case

That is a wonderful shirt! I think I saw that the other day and was thinking about it.
Fortunately, many of my shorts and tops are stretchy. I'm down 5 pounds but I have a way to go still.
I love the colors in that shirt.
Laurie, Chicos sale has LOTS of earthy colors this summer. Great sale

Sherri, we left Satellite Beach in 1986. Went back on a business trip in 2000 & couldn’t believe the changes! We’re hoping to get down there this fall (if Les’s eyes let us travel)
-
Happy anniversary Sherri! We loved living in Satellite Beach.
Lois, Les is ok, vision is still an issue, we go back next month & get next surgery date. He’s actually having MOHS (skin cancer surgery) the end of this month…can’t catch a break. O have shoulder postop spot tomorrow, I think I’m doing well. Daughter is doing great, pt told her she’s a star, starting to walk without the brace

Kat, we’re blistering hot here in CO this week too, supposed to reach triple digits on Sunday. No rain in sight, everything is very dry

Cons of doing a transpacific from Honolulu to Vancouver on Solstice?
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted · Edited by awhfy
We’ve done that cruise on Solstice & had a great time; however, the weather in April/May going to Vancouver was quite cold, very rainy. We weren’t able to go on our balcony the last 3 days nor venture outside ( decks were closed due to weather) the last 2 days. Seas were quite rough
We’ve also done the September/October Vancouver to Hawaii sailing on Eclipse. It was absolutely wonderful, weather was just perfect. We’re planning on doing that itinerary again
