We always have multiple devices (2 laptops, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones), but have never needed to have more than one device online at a time.  We've always used a cord to transfer photos from phone to computer or ipads and don't need internet for that.   I guess your needs are different!

Strictly speaking I don't need 2 devices online at the same time.... 1 device online is enough. However, I misread a previous post as suggesting that there is 2 packages, which I didn't assume was linked to having 2 packages per room (as in 1 package per person).

Sorry I wasn't clear.  I meant value for the whole package.  When you deduct the price of the internet that you would pay if you purchased it seperately and then look at the remaining cost and for the remaining perks offered I just don't see value in it.  Especially with the improved embarkation experience with reserved times.

I probably won't get value from all aspects of the package, but I can only really judge the value based on my own experiences and usage. The only thing I may not make use of is the Lunch, especially if there isn't really a Vegetarian option that I can eat. But I am one of those people who would prefer to get on the ship as soon as possible, so whilst the cost of that may be expensive, I would probably value that in my own way.

Would you really need 2 devices if you are solo?  One device means you can only be online with one device at a time.  Are you wanting to have two devices logged on at the same time?

It doesn't matter how many devices you have with you, the one device plan means you only USE one at a time.

My Phone and my Laptop. I prefer to use my laptop when I am writing, and my phone for when I am talking. Also, I will be taking photos with my camera, so will need to back up my photos to my computer during the trip.....

It is one device per person so sailing solo would only get you a single device package.  I had the Key one time back when it first came out in April of 2019.  I said I'd never bother again.  I just looked at for my upcoming Ovation cruise in August and did the math.  I remember why I said never again.  I just can't seem to find the value in it.

Thanks. I'm sure I will get some value in the package.... even if it's a single device. If the internet speed is good enough, I can send photos to my family whilst I am on my down time.

  5. Hello.....

It's been a few years since I last been on a cruise (about 5 or 6) and only been on the Oasis, Allure, Anthem and Liberty. I'm going to be on the Vision of the Seas. Not really daunted by it, just looking forward to seeing some of the ports I haven't seen before. I found the Roll Call, and also have found the Roll Call. This Cruise will take me to Diamond.

In the past, I attended the Meet & Mingle. I understand this has been halted for the time being (which is understandable). I also seen a thread about bidding for an upgrade.... which is new. I am used to doing independant cruises, but with the current pandemic, I am nervous about booking non-official excursions. I need to find out a lot of things about the ship before I go on board. Not overly worried.... and am really looking forward to a much needed cruise.

  6. From things I've seen mentioned here, the sticking point seems to be whether it's a "purchased" prepaid card (a plain one where you buy the actual card at a store) or an "issued" prepaid card (one that is printed with your name on it and mailed to you by the issuing bank).

If it's issued to you with your name printed on it, you should be good to go.

    I agree with this 100%

  7. No, just looks like a normal MasterCard, but I did mention it was a prepay and they took some convincing to even bother to try using it, they were adamant it wouldn't work.
There lies the problem. If you tell them it is prepaid, they will try and refuse it.

  8. I have used my Revolut card several times, despite the pursors desk repeatedly insisting it wouldn't work.. saved a fair few quid in exchange rates!
Just out of curiousity, did it have prepaid labelled on the card? If so, I wonder if that is the sticking point.

  9. I used a prepaid card on my cruise last year, as I have done so for most of my cruises. What I will say is, make sure you have at least $500 available on the card before you get on the cruise. If you can load at least $1,000, all the better. I don't know if I am allowed to mention the name of the provider I have used or not. It may be the case where some prepaid cards are not accepted, but I can only say from my own personal experience.
