  1. It is not illegal to count cards.  They just don't like it.   After booze,  casino play is the second largest source of revenue on the ship.  They don't build those billion dollar ships/casinos on winners.  If you are going to do it I would suggest you do it only once.

    Vegas odds:  good

    Indian casino odds :  bad

    Cruise ship odds:  ugly

We just live a couple of hours from Las Vegas and go frequently.   Cruise ship casino has no appeal to me.  Too much other stuff to do on the ship.

Last night on the main dinning room entree menu, not children menu, there was an item of "lobster Mac and Cheese". The bowl was very small, smaller than the onion soup bowl, about 3/4 full of Mac with some source. There was no sign of chopped or ground meat with the Mac. I am half way to Pinnacle. I am going to fold.

You should have paired it up with their delicious meatloaf and brown gravy and a side of canned corn. Mmmmm...

  3. There is also the possibility that if you bid on a Yacht Club interior,  they may accept your bid,  but assign you to a deluxe balcony suite  (not really a suite,  but a large room.  Very nice.)  That is what happened to us.   For us, it was a fantastic bargain.

    Hi,

Well I tried a Dummy Booking and couldn't see much on MSC Website.  Switched to Travel Agent, and there were a few Balcony Suites available in YC.

We only placed a Bid for Inside.

All hope seems to be gone.😒

Hey ho,  we still have a Balcony Cabin on a lovely new Ship, but have been excited at mere prospect of YC for weeks.

    Happy Sailing.

    K,

We bid on a YC interior.  Our bid was accepted.   We were assigned a YC deluxe balcony suite.   I did sweeten the bid a bit after my initial bid.   All in all we got a tremendous bargain.

Honestly I can’t think of one thing they do better than any other line.

Their Yacht Club is much better than other lines premium experience.   Pizza is the best at sea.

  6. Not exactly the topic here but.....I took my grandson on a cruise.   His mom and I got notarized form letter.  They didn't even look at it.  Didnt ask for it. My oldest daughter,  who is an immigration lawyer,  was astonished.   She said that was the one thing that they should have really checked.  I guess this is put in place to prevent human trafficking.   This was the port in Los Angeles.

Generally I would agree with you.  BUT...

    A) She doesn't have any contact with the TA.  We made all of the arrangements.

    B) 99% sure she doesn't even KNOW, and probably wouldn't think about difference in name documents.

As far as the DL... don't you need to present photo ID to get back on the ship after an excursion?  Yes, I know you can bring a passport off the ship, but it's not as easy to carry and not as easy to replace if it gets lost/stolen.

Good point to @ShillyShally about asking what name she wants on board.  Pretty sure she'll want her married name, but will ask.

53 cruises all over.  Never asked for anything but seapass. No issue
