  1. Did Norwegian Fjiords on Ventura last minute saver. Had to queue to get dining I wanted and no on board spending allowance otherwise no difference. Wasn't charged for shuttles etc.
  2. Recently returned from Norway. We couldn't decide on an excursion and when we did they were all booked. If you really fancy a trip book asap. We found our own way around and enjoyed the experience. Some would say not to book until you get there and see what the weather is like but that is risky if you are really set on a particular trip. As already stated the Funicular at Bergen gets VERY busy later. The ships berth at various locations so the time to walk to the Funicular varies, but get there asap. 80NOK return pp.
  3. Hi, just back from Norway on Ventura. Really enjoyed the ship and also the friendly Norwegians. We only took £100 worth of Krone (M&S good exchange) and found we had to change another £100 on board. We only bought a few prezzies and the odd coffee and cake. We used a credit card for the bigger purchases (tesco cc) and on checking our statement on return found this to be a favourable rate. So my suggestion would be £200 in krone, some sterling in case you want to change more on board. Avoid taking cash on your registered card as this will incur charges. Hope this isn't too long winded and enjoy your cruise. :)
  4. We bought small empty bottles from Boots and decanted small amounts of favourite shampoo, body lotion etc.
  5. Just back from Fjord cruise on Ventura. A dark suit and tie was worn by several passengers although the majority were in evening dress. You could find the full kit in M&S for £90. The majority seemed to stay formal for the evening entertainment, even the 22.30 shows. have a great time. :)
