  1. @grapau27 Graham, congratulations to you and Pauline on your Engagement Anniversary! @Sea Dog Oh no, Greg, get well wishes for sure. AND to @DaniDanielleMarietta's Charlie and to anyone else who is ailing.
  2. Greg, I hope the next knee surgery recuperation will be easier than the first. Dani, when we're with our grands, there are 2 dishes I must make either in my house or the grands house. First is grandma's chicken soup and 2nd is grandma's schnitzel. No excuses. Greg, I am sorry you still aren't 100%. Hope you feel better real soon! You'll be a tiger in time for your cruise!
  3. I stayed on board when we docked at Costa Maya in Feb. My friend used the tram from the ship to the port but it wasn't there to get her back to the ship. She said she didn't think she would make it. I didn't want to take that chance. Wonderful! What a beautiful surprise. BTW, Jack is here in the USA for over 50 years and he is still considered an Israeli, a term he wears with pride. How you and DH feeling?
  4. John, you are a wonderful example of turning lemons into lemonade. Continue to enjoy your cruise with family and kind friends. Be still my heart....LOX!! BUT with cream cheese please 😋 That yellow stuff (cheese?) next to the eggs looks like a heart. We saw dolphins in February in Galveston, always a delightful sight. Hope you'll see them on your next cruise!
  5. Most of my favorite pieces of jewelry are costume. Of course, my wedding ring and diamond ring, made from my mother's engagement diamond, are the most precious to me. I never go for the freebies either.
  6. For many years my mother made her own egg noodles for Shabat ( Sabbath) chicken soup with no special pasta makers. So good but then everything made in her kitchen was exceptional. @dani negreanu Oh Dani, so sorry to read about your and DH's current health issues. 3 days in a hospital is never fun. I hope you're both doing much better. I look forward to your upcoming posts after you rest up and get your strength back.
  7. Jane, happy belated birthday. Bah to bullies who think they are entitled. Glad you didn't move your chair and stood firm.
  8. More on my long dental saga. Yesterday I returned to be put under to get those two pesky teeth pulled. Anesthesia worked great. At the end, I was "lucid" enough to ask if he got both out and he said a resounding YES, patted my shoulder and went out to talk to Jack. I never felt loopy coming out of the anesthesia. Doc prescribed a pain killer but told me I won't need it. He was right! He told me during our consultation that I would be pain free for 72 hours after extraction given what he used to sedate me. He assured me that only 10% of his patients take a pain killer, usually OTC. AND he included a full bottle of Moscato in my goodie bag of post extraction instructions, gauze, etc. I previously mentioned to him that I would love to be home sipping a chilled glass of Moscato. His staff is caring and removed the anxiety I felt. @George C George, you wanted his info. Dr. Michael Ray - Corner of Independence and Spring Creek in Plano https://www.northtexasoralsurgery.com/contact/ Luckily, he's in network with our dental plan. I don't know why the numbing injection didn't work well on Thursday, but if you always are put out that wouldn't be an issue for you. His phone call that evening at 7 was greatly appreciated. For previous medical procedures, I was called by the office staff to follow up but never the actual doctor and never beyond regular office hours. If you call, tell him Jack and Bonnie (the talkative Moscato lady) sends regards. OMG just as I sent this post, Dr. Ray called to see how I am doing. On a Saturday yet!! Grateful for editing feature.
  9. Maryann, that's what teen girls do when they go to school. 😉 @Jimbo @A&L_Ont Jim, your wife, and Andrew, Hope you all feel better very soon. @bobmacliberty Happy Belated Birthday to Micheline @Momof3gurlz @aussielozzie18 Gorgeous pictures @Ozark_Kid John, something tells me your new chair will be beautifully decorated soon. Kenzie will no doubt be the chief navigator.
  10. Both Jack and I used up our $2,000 annual allowance each for this year. That's $4,000 we didn't have to pay out of pocket. Like you, Jack is waiting until Jan. for further dental work. We're grateful that the Dental benefit doesn't change in 2024. Thanks Maryann, Debbie, Bethany. My Oral Surgeon called early evening to see how I was feeling. That never happened before with any doctor/dentist. I've had someone from the office call during business hours, but this personal call was much appreciated. Regarding elevators, I have slight mobility issues and mostly rely on elevators. Long wait for them on Oasis Bella cruise. I walked with a cane and there were very rude people who pushed past me when the elevator arrived even though we were in front of the elevator. I've seen people do that to folks in wheelchairs. Someone I met on a cruise told me when you press the elevator button, only one elevator is programmed to stop on your floor. I was told it's why elevators pass your floor without stopping. Does anyone know if this is true?
  11. When I was a kid in NYC, I remember our local pharmacist always took splinters out of our fingers. Can you imagine that happening now? I never heard of Tylenol with Codeine. I've only encountered prescription Tylenol 3. More times than I care to remember.
  12. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience at the dentist today. He gave me a gallon of numbing agent (needle) but one tooth is very problematic and I felt extreme pain as he was trying to pull it. He wants me to come back tomorrow to be put under. He said he feels sorry and that I shouldn't have to experience pain like I did. So, to be continued tomorrow. He's a top rated oral surgeon so I am sure he knows what he's doing.
  13. @dani negreanu Dani are you still in Amsterdam? I hope all is well with your family there (I forget if he is DS1 or DS2) and that they're settling in nicely.
  14. Debbie, at least now you know what work and what doesn't. My problem with painkillers is that they hardly work on me, honest! I took hydrocodone after my ankle surgery and it hardly made a dent. I was given morphine when I cracked my femur bone and hardly felt any relief. Tramadol? Like eating M&Ms. I'm leaving soon to have 2 teeth extracted. Not looking forward to the after pain. I can't take Motrin, Aleve etc. because of my kidney issue. Oy!!!
  15. Sounds like they're taking good care of you until you depart. At least you were able to enjoy most of your cruise. Smart you took a hotel a few hours from Cape Liberty to rest up before the long drive home. Feel better soon. Covid is on the rise again in the Dallas area. 😷
  16. Greg, I was happy to read you're feeling better. I don't like clicking the Like button in cases like this. Wish there were other options. If you two do have covid, I hope you both have mild cases although it sounds like you feel miserable now. ☹️ Feel better soon and remember to drink lots of fluids.
