  1. Which ship? The experience is different depending on whether the ship has been upgraded to StarLink or not. The basic WiFi does not permit streaming video which makes loading some website impractical. If all you want is to send text messages or email, that should work. There have been a couple of post indicating that the basic and premium WiFi are going away and that it will be Premium (Surf + Stream) only going forward with StarLink. Take a look here:
  2. That reads and looks amazin but our port call is 0700 - 1400. So now way to make an afternoon trip. And cruising our not, my days of starting to drink at 0700 - 0800 are long behind me !! Although I still recall how refreshing a nice cold adult beverage was after getting off an i hour shift at 0800.
  3. Ours was that way but under "Class" it said Sky which is one of the suite classes. Point that out to them if there is any question. I hope whomever was monitoring the line was sending them away. Key passengers should not be in the Suite queue.
  4. My wife does not cook or eat lamb nor will she let me cooking inside the house. She says it 'smells like meat." DUH -- so I eat lamb almost every time it is offered when we cruise.
  5. Our Son gave us a pair of Apple iTags this past Christmas. He bought a 4-pack and decided he did not need them all. It was fun to track our bags as we wandered around the airports.
  6. I encourage more alcohol while you deal with the delays. I have high confidence that you'll get there but I cannot speak for what shape, nerves wise, you'll be in. One good thing going for you is the time difference definitely works for you. I'll be especially interested in what you choose to do for your stop in Puerto Vallarta. Our next cruise will be making a stop there before proceeding to LA (San Pedro) and I am not sure what we are going to do. We went there once before but I believe it was just too hot and humid to do anything there seek the air conditioned comfort of the ship.
  7. I wish you the best with American. There are three airlines I will not fly -- Spirit, Frontier, and American.
  8. Question - Anyone know the current status of Starlink deployment on Millie? Last schedule I saw showed it would be sometime in March, IIRC.
  9. Yes, it will also be our first on M-Class and first Panama Canal. We've been to Cartagena, Colon, and Puerto Vallarta before so I am not sure what we will be doing in those ports. Last April when we were in Cartagena we just went to the little wildlife park at the end of the pier and watched the parrots, peacocks, flamingo's and even saw a deer.
  10. I have frequently used the ATMs in the airport to get Euro’s or Pounds when traveling in Europe and the UK. I have found the exchange rate is based on the banks and even with the bank ATM fees a better deal than the currency exchange booths at the airport. I have also never had an issue tipping tour guides in US dollars.
  11. We enjoy Celebrity a lot. It is a lot more laid back than RCI. Yes, we will be in a Sky Suite on Deck 6. It will be the first time we have sailed on this class, the Millennium class, of ship. I am going to try and get a lot of pictures.
  12. That’s strange. The Free Style soda machines on Royal Caribbean had Dr Pepper and Diet Dr Pepper. These are Coco-Cola machines and RCI, like Celebrity, sodas are primarily Coco-Cola based drinks.
  13. Yes, we have used those forms to give additional tips.
  14. I counted 63 cabins open on our Millennium cruise next month. All of them are Inside or Ocean View cabins. Everything with a balcony has been booked and only a few popped open just before final payment. Expecting a near full house.
  15. Good luck to you as well. My winning streak is the same as yours - non existent.
  16. The Elite Happy Hour is a hold over from pre-COVID days when the event was held in the Sky Lounge. There were servers, in addition to the bartenders at the bar, taking drink orders. There were also servers walking around with Hors-d'œuvres for the guest. The drinks available for free have always been from a limited menu of drinks not an 'open bar.' After COVID the event has not been held in the Sky Lounge but the drinks have continued. I believe there are quite a few of us that would like to see Celebrity adopt something along the lines of a fixed number of drinks up to a certain value like Royal Caribben does butt so far there has not been any indication that I have seen/heard of Celebrity changing the way they are doing it. I along with others, am interested to hear the response you receive to your inquiry.
  17. I did the for Fee Mixology on Silhouette last year and enjoyed it. it was held at the World Class Bar and there were two bartenders at the event. The participants watched the lead bartender, who was from the Ensemble Lounge bar, make and explain the drink and then he had us made the same drinks while he and the World Class Bartender looked on and assisted as necessary. I enjoyed the experience but have never put it to practical use.
  18. Take the empty ice bucket to Guest Services and ask them to refill it. See how many times you have to do that before someone gets the message. "Hi, I asked my room attended to fill my ice bucket twice a day but he's only doing it once a day. Can you please fill my ice bucket for me?"
  19. Thank you, I will be sure and check it out. I enjoy a nice hot sauna from time to time.
  20. There is no need to be at all. You simple order a drink and take it with you. check the base of the glass to make sure it's not the usual stuff but I believe Celebrity uses Ridel in most bars. I know they do in the Retreat and also in Luminae. P.S. already have a calendar alert for next weeks lottery.
  21. I'll take a glass of the Widow Jane, neat, please.
  22. Go to Vintages and get a glass of champagne. Take the glasses with you to your room and compare with the glasses in your room. I understand they use Ridel glasses and am not sure those are the glasses in the staterooms. You can also order other wines, which come in different style glasses, and compare / contrast those. I have proven time and time again my taste buds are not refined enough.
  23. We love Celebrity and it is going to be interesting to see if there are as many little things that have changed on Celebrity like they have on Royal Caribbean.
  24. I cannot say I blame you. It's gotten to the point we do not book anything other than a suite on Celelbrity and thank goodness my wife loves to eat in Luminae. I can't image what she would say if I told her the real reason we are booking suites is to get the DBP! I am happy to let her think I am doing it so she can eat in Luminae.
  25. My wife and I were talking yesterday and tonday about our cruise experience and a couple of things that I should have pointed out I neglected to do. 1. We did not ask our room attendant to bring us ice twice a day. We never mentioned ice at any point at all. As a result, we did not receive ice in the ice bucket at any point during the cruise. 2. When we first meet our room attendant we always ask for extra sheets to use to cover the couch and chairs. This is the first time the room attendant did not cover the couch and chairs - he left the sheets on the bed and we did it ourselves. He did straighten the sheet on the couch up once or twice but did not do it every day. 3. I had requested in my pre-embarkation communications with the Suite Consierge's a kettle to make hot water in the room. I was informed there were none available. We asked our room attendant for one and he had no problem getting it for us ( I mentioned this earlier). 4. All of the wait staff in CK were friendly and excellent. We had differernt wait staff for breakfast and lunch but the same waitress every night for dinner. The two host, assume Maintre'd and assistant were very personable but always seemed very busy. Our eating. a 6:30 pm everything put us right in the busiest time but neither of the two every seemed to have time to stop by our table and engage with us for any length of time. This was totally different experience that what we had on Quantum. The Assistant Maitre'D made a point of talking with us a couple of times at almost every meal. 5. We noticed that unlike every other Royal Caribbean ship we have sailed on, including Quantum last year, there was a waiter or assistant waiter going around with a basket of pastries and offering them. We did not see this happen at any breakfast, and we ate in CK all but two mornings. There were pastries on the counter in the Lounge area but we did not see them being offered to diners eating in CK at all. I never paid that much attention until my wife mentioned it so I thought I would let others know in case it was a one off. 6. Both Elaine and Junior, the Suite Concierge's were excellent. However, they were very busy as well and I did not see them circulating in the lounge area engaging with guest. I again this is was a result of every suite on the ship being booked and quite a few people needing their assistance with one thing or another. The only time we asked for any help from them was arranging a lunch in Izumi. I was unable to book it using the app so I asked Junior and he was able to get a lunch reservation for us. If you need some assistance, do not hesitate to ask them for help. They seem to bend over backwards to help in any way they can.
