"Sometimes" was my disclaimer. Transatlantics and repositioning can be found for $50ish/day. Alaska is another place where you can find bargains. Vancover to Hawaii only cost us $300/each a couple years ago. No ports = no port fees!
But Joe says they should share the profits. 😃 (The only time our bags did not show up was the time we forgot to carry cash at boarding to tip the porter. 50+ cruises. A fluke? I think not. Btw, when we finally found them in front of a cabin at the other end of the ship, our tags were missing.)
And sometimes that hot soup doesn't smell very nice. Sent an entire bag of tshirts and undies out on the Explorer and could not stand the odor. If it happens again, I would ask for a do over.
Neither, unfortunately. Pick up one of those small night lights which comes on with movement and off when you leave. Inexpensive and easy to pack. Lowes or HomeDepot.
You can change the enforced policy just like it was changed on RCL. Start wearing shorts to MDR and if that works, add a ball cap. If staff doesn't object, you will officially be game changer! Others will follow.
This is not good for stock holders. The pissed off customer will not come back. They will get comfortable with the new cruise that they trief and Royal will start all over with new customers.
Over 50 cruises and have used a TA since our 2nd cruise. Have changed a few times... one who has group rates beats some OBC or free specialty dining hands down.
If they share in the profits when there are some, are they willing to share in losses when there are some? That's the difference between a business owner/stock holder and an employee. They are provided employment but have nothing invested.
If changing clothes or showering. Otherwise open to watch the promenade activity. (We did see a young women strip naked while the family packed on final night of cruise. 2 young boys and husband didn't seem to mind. Of course we didn’t watch... closed our drapes quickly.)
Yes, food was pretty fabulous when we started cruising. Real beef steaks and prime rib, delicious sides, Ceaser salad prepared table side, order as much as you care to eat, then finish with flaming cherries jubilee also prepared at your table. Service was so good that you wanted to tip every night.
Today's MDR has no comparisons.
