  1. Ship - Odyssey of the Seas Deck - 7 Stateroom # - 7260 Stateroom Category – Ocean View with Large Balcony (4C) Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? Yes. No issues whatsoever. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - This isn't classified as obstructed because you can see the ocean without problems but you can see the tops of some of the life boats (see photos) Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - the balcony is larger than most balconies. It is right at the beginning of the bump out so you have a little extra space. Was wind a problem? - No. We were on a transatlantic and the wind wasn't an issue. If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - No. Unless you want to count the fact that the door to the cabin is right on the corner in the hallway and you have to be careful when opening (the door opens out) so that you don't accidentally hit a passenger who is taking the corner sharply. Any other comments? - Great location - close enough to the elevators and centrally located for most venues. IMG_4417.HEIC IMG_4418.HEIC IMG_4419.HEIC IMG_4420.HEIC IMG_4421.HEIC IMG_4422.HEIC
  2. Ship - Jewel of the Seas Deck - 10 Stateroom # - 1598 Stateroom Category – Junior Suite (J3) Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? For the most part, yes. This room is directly below the outside eating area of the Windjammer. We were in this room on a transatlantic and the weather wasn't too warm so there wasn't much activity above us. However we did hear the occasional person running through the area in the early mornings. I do think that if you are sailing in a warmer climate the noise from the Windjammer could be bothersome. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Classified as obstructed but only because it is oversized and there is an area that is tucked in out of the way that doesn't have a view. The rest of the balcony is unobstructed. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - oversized Was wind a problem? - no If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - The outlet in the bathroom wasn't working (July 2023) Any other comments? - Bathroom does have upgraded amenities and a clothes line in the shower. It does not have the auto night light in the bathroom like the newer ships.
  3. This is what is available for a Taste of Asia on my upcoming Jewel cruise. Might be different for your cruise but hopefully it will give you an idea of what is available.
  4. Ship - Anthem of the Seas Deck - 6 Stateroom # - 6166 Stateroom Category – Obstructed Ocean View Balcony Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? – This room is located two decks above the Music Hall. Even though it is slightly forward of the Music Hall, the bass from the music being played by the bands can be easily heard all evening. Most bands play until at least midnight so if the thump thumping sound might bother you, I'd look for another room. Other than that the room was quiet during the day, even considering the closeness of the elevators. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes Balcony View - obstructed by life boats (see photos). You can still see the ocean while standing. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Seemed small - not sure if this is the normal size or not. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - It was warm. We thought the A/C wasn't working and called maintenance. After they left the air did seem to circulate more but the temperature settings will only allow you to adjust the temperature by 2 degrees. We had a choice of somewhere between 68-70 degrees to choose from, that was it. Would have liked to have the room cooler. Maybe this was a setting just for our cruise since I've never had an issue with changing temps before. Any other comments? - super convenient location. Close to the Schooner Bar and elevators as well as the Esplanade. Plenty of storage.
  5. Booked the Amsterdam to Miami leg. One of the stops is our home port. 🙂
  6. Ship - Vision of the Seas Deck - 2 Stateroom # - 2598 Stateroom Category – Ocean View (Port Hole) Starboard or Port Side - Port Quiet Stateroom? Yes. The only real noise came on port days if the ship was docked on the port side. The gangway is located directly below this stateroom. But even then we never heard any noise that woke us. Maybe because we had excursions booked and were already up. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - Yes Balcony View - n/a Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a Was wind a problem? - n/a If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a Any specific problems with this cabin? - No Any other comments? - Great location near the elevators and just two decks directly below the centrum. Take the elevator directly up to the Solarium. The only real walking you have to do is to the Windjammer which is at the front of the ship.
  7. Ship - Allure Of The Seas Deck - 17 Stateroom # - 1754 Stateroom Category – L1 Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Quiet Stateroom? Yes. No noise whatsoever. Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No Balcony View - Unobstructed view. You can see a small portion of deck 16 if you are standing near the balcony rail and look forward but the only other thing you see is the ocean. Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal for its class, which is oversized. Fits two loungers and a table with plenty of room left over. Was wind a problem? - No If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A Any specific problems with this cabin? - No. It's big and beautiful. Perfect location in terms of the suite lounge, Coastal Kitchen and elevators. We used the pull out couch and had a cot brought in for our family of four. All sleeping options were comfortable.
  8. 8:15 am we were led off the ship by the concierge and by 8:32 we were sitting in our airport shuttle. Smooth and seamless debarkation. I did notice a full table of contraband on the way out - lots of passengers picking up their alcohol and steamers 🙂 Happy sailing to all those who are boarding today - especially Dan and Kat - have a great cruise! And thanks to everyone who followed along these past two weeks. I’ll see you all on Wonder for the TA.
  9. Waiting at the Champagne Bar for our luggage tags to be called. We decided to book the airport shuttle drop off to make things a bit easier. We’ve been told that the ship was a little late arriving in port this morning so we are a little behind in getting off the ship. Our scheduled departure was supposed to be 8:00 am. Hopefully we won’t be too long and everyone waiting can get on board soon!
